Hi,
Can you provide the pl/sql function or the web service wsdl generated from it, so that we can try to reproduce it.
Also, in an earlier post, I saw a workaround of changing it so the function returned defined type as :
type ListCursor is ref cursor return ListRecord
You can also see if this works out if possible.
Regards,
Sunil..

  • How to call a web Service from Oracle Applications?

    Hi friends,
I've posted this question on OA Framework forum , but may be it's more appropiated put it here. Sorry for do it again:
It's about how to call a web service from a Form or a .sql (via Request) in Oracle Applications:
Could you please explain here the detailed steps (with code example if it's possible) to invoke a webservice from Oracle Applications?.. how did yo do it...?
I've read differents posts here and the 33097.1 metalink note (by the way, the first recommended link in this note is broken...), but there are lots of theorical concepts and no real examples to see how/from where invoke the WS
I'll have to call one webservice (I suppose the customer will give me the interface implementation)...but I've never did it with Applications so that's why I ask you for all the detailed steps...
I work with Forms 6i, Apps 11.5.10.2 and DB 9.2.0.7.
    Thanks a lot.
    Jose.

    Hello Jose,
I did using java program to call BPEL web services in 11.5.10.
I pasted below the metalink note for your reference (Note:250964.1)
The idea is first write a java program to call the webservice (in my case it is calling an BPEL web service, so this may not help directly), test it.
Then port the java program as specified in the note, so that you could call your web service through concurrent manager scheduler.
    Is this ok?
    Thanks
    Arun.

  • How to call OWSM secured web-service from ADF application

    I have a OWSM secured web-service, which takes username/password.
I want to invoke this webservice from ADF application. ADF application has its own security and it takes its own username/password. End user can't provide the username/password for web-service call. My ADF application should call the webservice and provide it appropriate username/password.
What is the best practice to handle such scenario. I don't want to hardcode username/password in Java (ADF) code.
    Thanks
    Sanjeev.

it is not clear to me if you are having problems with calling java code from OIM or if the problem is the web service API.
Lets do some divide and conquer:
Can you create a simple java class that just writes a couple of lines to the log? Please attach this code to the OIM task and make sure it runs.
Once this works we can start looking at the web service call.
    Best regards
    /Martin

  • Authorization error calling a XI web service from Web Dynpro

    Hi all,
I'm trying to communicate to XI from a Web Dynpro application but I get an Unauthorization error (401).
I've generated a WSDL in XI and import it to web dynpro as a new Model. But when a I call the web service, the exception "Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized." appears.
I don't know how to pass the right user and password from Web Dynpro, I've tried the web service from SOAP client tools and it works fine.
    I'll apreciate any help.

    Diego.

    +Request_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay req=new Request_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay();
    wdContext.nodeRequest_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay_MI_outTurnoverDetailsDisplay().bind(req);
    req._setUser("username");
    req._setPassword("password");+
No sé si es que ese usuario y contraseña son otros distintos.
Si pudieras ayudarme, te lo agradecería.

  • Calling a Web Service from J2EE application running on WebSphere

This may have been answered before, but could not find using multiple searches that I did on this forum.
We are just in the process of using the newly installed SAP WAS 6.40 with J2EE engine and I understand from SAP's documentation that all BAPIs and remotely callable RFCs should be invokable via a Web Service call from remote applications. Couple of questions on this:
    1. Is there a documentaion that describes steps to enable BAPIs or RFCs as web services?
    2. Is there a documentation that describes steps to invoke a web service that in turn uses BAPI or RFC (code sample).
We are J2EE literates but not familiar with SAP WAS, and not sure if calling/invoking the WS would be similar to calling any other WS from other WS Containers.
    Appreciate a response or suggestions.

    Hi Bharat,
see this weblog , where it gives the steps to create a RFC and convert it into web service.
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2005/01/05/develop-a-web-service-that-sends-an-email--in-abap
Invoking WS is similar to calling any other WS from other containers. Either you have to give the WSDL file location or the external UDDI Server address in WebService creation wizard.
The WebService exapmles is also avaliable in help.sap.com

  • Creating Web Services from Forms Application

I have a commercial system based on Oracle Forms 6. I would like to expose the functionality of this application as Web Services. This would permit us to integrate these applications using XML technology.
I think the best approach would be to look for a way to communicate with forms from within a Java environment.
Does anyone know how I can do this ?

You can certainly use 10.1.3.x of JDev for building web services to call from forms 10.1.2. I have done this here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gr2/howto/webservicefromforms/ws_10_1_3_from_forms.html
Generally the thing you have to watch is to ensure the JDK version for the web service proxy project is the same as Forms (1.4). You also need to be careful on the web service type from which you are creating the proxy. (Jax-rpc, jax-ws etc)
It might be worth trying (but might have a few gotchas) using 10.1.3 to generate a proxy against an 11g web service - but you need to watch what version of the web services standard you are using as there have been a number of changes in this area.
    hope that helps

    1. I know how to set username and password while using "Basic Auth SOAP" protocol. But my question in this case is what are the accesses user requires to be able to execute web service.
    2. And about Secure SOAP, why is above mentioned error is appearing?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hello Nisha,
as you refer to a Webi problem I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Web Intelligence|SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the creation and design of Web Intelligence documents using the Web Intelligence Report Panels. This includes areas such as universe connectivity, prompts, charting, formatting, filters, and formulas.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Webi queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Best regards,
    Falk

  • Cannot test authenticated web service from Web Service test page

I tried to test my page from using http://localhost:7001/wls_utc. It seems to work fine in my production environment but not in my local machine. I got the following error:
Parse of wsdl (http://localhost:7001/mywebservice?WSDL) failed due to weblogic.testclient.WsdlParseFailedException: weblogic.wsee.wsdl.WsdlException: Failed to read wsdl file from InputSource due to -- java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '401: Unauthorized' for url: 'http://localhost:7001/mywebservice?WSDL'.
    With the following access log

I noticed that the second line did not appear in my production server. Is there something wrong in my configuration?

    Thanks for your help,
I don't have hardware firewall. But in gateway server of company, we have a firewall. I doubt if the 80 port in this firewall is blocked. You say that some ISP block port 80, what does it mean, does it mean that port 80 on the server of our company is blocked? But we have also web page, I can acess it from internet.
another question: if one process send some message to another, it uses the fixed port or any port selected from the free port? e.g does one process send http request using fixed 80or 8080?
    Thank you

    // + ex.getMessage()); }
    Can Anyone help?
    Is urgently.........thanks
    Daniele

You should try to post it there:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=97
But if I look at the error, it looks like some files are Read-Only. Maybe you should check if they are or if you have the appropriate rights on the folder.
    Good luck

  • Deserialization Error while invoking web service from JDeveloper 10g

When we tried to invoke a web service from JDeveloper version 10.1.3.4.0.4270, we got deserialization error. Here are the steps that we did to invoke the web service.
    1. Using WSDL URL, downloaded WSDL file and associated XSD files into local machine using wsa.jar utility.
    2. Using JDeveloper, created web service proxy project by referring the local WSDL file.Proxy got generated successfully.
    3. Secured the proxy using "secure proxy" option.
    4. Assigned all required values for parameters for web method.
    5. When tried to invoke the web service, got deserialization error.

Process exited with exit code 1.
We think that the exact cause for the problem is as follows.
    1. If we check the XSD file corresponds to response object, for one of the element, the type is decimal
    <xsd:element minOccurs="0" name="ParentValueSetId" nillable="true" type="xsd:decimal"/>
    2. In the SOAP response, this element is empty so during deserialization, the numer format exception occurred in LiteralSimpleTypeSerializer class.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Suresh & Mukesh,
    Suresh:
I started the service by going through the following path System Administrator > System Configuration > Service Configuration > Application > <SERVICE_NAME> in system configuration of portal
Mukesh: Here I don't have any proxy settings.
Can you please let me know where I'm going wrong.
    Thanx,
