    Hello,
    I searched google and found many documents and also tried 1-2 option posted on web but didn't succeed so last solution posting here.
    Trying unsupported installation R12(12.1.1) on Windows 7-Professional 64-Bit.
    System check succeeded without any trouble but with 33% installation, it gives above error(*windows cannot find \jre\NT\1.5.0\bin\java* ) and installation comes out.
    The StartCD came with jre\NT\1.6.0\bin\java directory so i tried to rename the folder with 1.5.0 ( reference and also changed in Rapidwizard.cmd .
    but now it doesn't throw any error but after 33% complete, it just exists without too much of information.
    The log too had only this info after system check messages
    RW-50010: Error: - script has returned an error:   2
    I got following DVDs
    oraAppsDB1
    oraAppsDB2
    oraApps1
    oraApps2
    OraAS
    OraDB
    startCD
    and then i tried to create stage area from startCD but it failed as it was asking for a DVD which i didn't have because i tried every DVD i have.
    So i manually created directories in stage area(StageR12).
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards!

    I have looked through the above threads. It mentions running the md5sum to check the staging area? I am not sure how to do this - can anyone help here? The softare was downloaded from Oracles e-delievry site - this gives about 30+ zip folders - I extracted each of these files to a folder called stage12 on my desktop and then ran the rapid install. All of the pre-intsall checks completed fine but then it falls over with error above?
    Can anyone help - Many Thanks.

  • Error in writing to file '$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/bin/java'

    Hi,
    I have installed Forms & Reports Services Standalone (10.1.2.0.2) on RHEL 5 and now I am applying the Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2, Patch Set 3 (10.1.2.3), but OUI gives the following error:
    Error in writing to file '$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/bin/java'.
    [$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/bin/java
    (Text file busy)]
    I can't seem to find anything about this error on metalink or via google. Can anyone help me solve this? Thanks.

    Ok, this time I stopped all processes first with opmnctl stopall and emctl stop iasconsole. I then started OUI again to install the patch. It seemed to go fine - i didnt get that java error this time, but another error almost at the end of the installation:
    Error in invoking target 'proxy_install runm_install server_install cgi_install
    cli_install conv_install qv_install' of makefile
    '/opt/oracle/Forms10gR2/reports/lib/ins_reports.mk'
    According to Metalink ID 564174.1 - "Any installation of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) on OEL 5.x or RHEL 5.x in which Reports is getting installed will fail with reports relinking errors" and the solution is as follows:
    # rpm -i xorg-x11-libs-compat-6.8.2-1.EL.33.0.1.i386.rpm
    # mv /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6 /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6.ORG
    # ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libXtst.so.6 /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6
    I have already done these 3 steps before the base installation (just to avoid this error), yet I am getting this error even when the symbolic link already exists. Do you think I can just ignore this error and continue with the installation, or is there something else I need to check first?

  • C execve of $JAVA_HOME/jre/bin/java does not work

    I have a static executable (I don't want to link shared libraries for security reasons) which ultimately tries to execve the java executable in the JRE (Linux). Unfortunately I'm getting the following errors:
    Error: could not find libjava.so
    Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
    I've seen mention of these errors in other posts and have tried everything I can find (add stuff to PATH, CLASSPATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH, JAVA_HOME, and more). Everything I've tried does not seem to do a lick of good. The execve function constructs an explicit environment, so I'm wondering if there is something basic that java needs in the environment that is inherited normally in a shell. I'm at a complete loss here. Any help would be appreciated. A very simple C program to reproduce this is pasted bellow.
    #include <unistd.h>
    void main(void)
    char * arg[2];
    char * env[10];
    int i;
    i=0;
    arg[i++] = "-version";
    arg[i] = NULL;
    i=0;
    //add any environment variables to env like...
    //env[i++] = "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<java_path>/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so";
    env[i] = NULL;
    execve("/usr/local/j2sdk_nb/j2sdk1.4.2/jre/bin/java", arg, env);
    }

    It fails because you do not set argv[0] to the path of the program you're calling.
    Try:
    #include <unistd.h>
    int main()
    char * arg[3];
    char * env[10];
    int i;
    i=0;
    // This is the big deal:
    arg[i++] = "/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_02/bin/java";
    arg[i++] = "-version";
    arg[i++] = NULL;
    i=0;
    env[i++] = NULL;
    execve("/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_02/bin/java", arg, env);
    }

    Some People claim that Norton programs might interfere, I disabled them even went as far to uninstall them which takes a long time.. to uninstall and install them back.
    I even went as far as a clean systems install of windows XP sp2 Home Edition and th en tried to update to Sun Java and still got the red X basically saying something wrong with install. But nothing every says its wrong when you run the offline installation. Just when you go back to the website to veriffy jjava is installed.
    To be able to use my subsciption I pay for on Pogo.com to play games that require applets I had to enable the MSJava in Internet Explorer and disable the box of the Sun Java applet version whatever you have installed to have Runtime Environment.
    If you don't have the MS Java on your Internet Explorer Advanced Options you can get it at this address:
    http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/
    Go figure. I thought Sun Java would be more better which I had working before have no clue why it stopped working and those errors come up when trying to play games that require the use of the java applet.
    Was hoping other java users who have figured out why it stopped can tell me what to look for to alter so I can change back to sun Java.
    The Sun Java works great with other applications just not the applets.

    The same problem happened to me. When upgrading from JRE 1.5.0_5 to JRE 1.5.0_6, suddenly no applets would load, and all I could see was the little red X.
    I tried to change proxysettings (I dont use a proxy, but it is told at http://www.java.com/en/download/help/redximage.xml that it is due to wrong proxy-settings). It didn't help.
    I tried to turn off zonealarm. It didn't help.
    I tried to clear the browsers cache. It didn't help.
    I have been using both Firefox 1.5, and IE6. None would load the java-applets.
    So I uninstalled all older JRE versions and installed JRE 1.4.1_02. It worked!
    I then tried to upgrade to JRE 1.5.0. It didn't work.
    Now I am back at JRE 1.4.1_02 without knowing why I had to downgrade through 6 versions that through the last year or so has been working fine on my machine.
    I have no idea why it suddenly wouldnt work with the newer versions.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    You need to find the java exceptions - most likely in the logs in the /var/log/webconsole/console directory.
    A wild guess is you don't have enough swap space to perform a fork.

    You might try to change your regional and language setting to German or US. Otherwise, downgrade your jdk to 1.4.2_08.

  • Unexpected symbol error in messages.xml during sapinst AS Java install

    I am installing an application server JAVA on Redhat linux inside the DMZ for our ESS portal internet facing web app server. I downloaded the media and ftp'd it to the Redhat x86_64 server, and are now running sapinst to install it.
    When starting sapinst as root, I get the following message:

    Hi John,
    Have you checked message.xml file on line 9333 for some garbage symbol ?
    Thanks

  • C:\Documents and Settings\User "c:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.5.0_14\bin\java.

    I have a class "Stimulus.java" in which another jar's class has been used. When I created jar and executed I got below error. I used "-classpath" to set dependancy jar file. Any clues are appreciated.
    import modulus.Modulus;
    public class Stimulus{
        public static void main(String[] args) {
                Model.main(args);
    C:\Documents and Settings\User>"c:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.5.0_14\bin\java.exe" -classpath "D:\User\mypgms\test\bin\Modulus.jar;" -jar D:\User\mypgms\test\bin\Stimulus.jar c:\test.txt
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: modulus/Modulus
            at Stimulus.main(Stimulus.java:4)

    You can't mix classpath values with the -jar option. Using the -jar option causes Java to use only the Class-Path: information in the jar's manifest file, while ignoring all external classpath information. Review this for details:

  • Error "JRE not in Configuration File"

    I have made sure my browser is Java activated that that all issues in the FAQ are done. I can not find JAVA in my control panel and when I manually execute the java file, I get the error "JRE not in Configuration File." I found some errors in my registry file using regedit. JavaSoft did not have the proper permissions. I added the permissions and now after executing the java 1.4.2_05 file I get the that error when I open the coffee cup. Is something else missing in my registry.

    This thread should help.
