Error loading in DLL (Crystal reports 2008 version 12.3)

we have installed the software but While adding the reference in VB,and while selecting the (Crystal Report ActiveX Viewer 12.0) we can't add as a reference it is showing (error in loading DLL) so please request you to check this error which is attached and revert on this As early as possible.

Thread moved to the NET - SAP Crystal Reports forum.
For timely response, it is important to make sure you post to the correct forum (check the header of each forum).
From your description, I suspect that you are trying to use the COM based Report Designer Component(?). This component has been retired in CR XI R2. The activeX viewer you are trying to access is only included for internal purposes and you are not licensed to use it at all. In CR 2008, you will have to use the CR SDK for Visual Studio .NET.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Version 12.2.6.567 Crashes with APPCRASH , opensql.dll

    Hello everyone,
I have download and installed a trial license of BOBJ 3.1, i have installed an SAP INT Kit and have been trying to convert some sample CR from the SAP servers " iwdfvm..." to a local SAP Server on the network. I receive this error in crystal reports when i try to update the data source
    Problem Event Name:     APPCRASH
      Application Name:     crw32.exe
      Application Version:     12.2.6.567
      Application Timestamp:     4ba3856d
      Fault Module Name:     crdb_opensql.dll
      Fault Module Version:     12.1.0.890
      Fault Module Timestamp:     48db6ad0
      Exception Code:     c0000005
      Exception Offset:     000aea07
      OS Version:     6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1
      Locale ID:     1033
Please help me understand why i can not change any of the datasources. The funny thing is this error has popped up in every version of CR and there are still no fixes that i have seen in 2008.

Hello everyone I have downgraded to the SP1 version of Crystal Reports 2008 seems to have fixed the problem.

  • Getting an error trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a 64 bit Windows

reformatted my computer and now I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on 64 bit windows 7 box.  When the "Registering modules" portion of the install comes up, I get a message that a dll has failed to register.  I saw something about not having the Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable pack (x86) installed but that was not it either.
The cd label say Crystal Reports to Crystal Reports 2008 Upgrade, but it does not seem like I have to have the older version of Crystal insatlled.
Any ideas how to fix this ?

    Hello together,
i've had the same problem. Tried to install CR SP 2 "cr2008win_sp2.exe" onto an existing CR 2008 SP1 installation, and got the above error. After extracting the cr2008win_sp2.exe to an folder using Winzip (or just start Installation, the source would be extracted to "c:\temp" ), navigate to the subfolder "\package" and execute the CrystalReports.msp (in my case: c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp). This start's the Installation of SP 2. If you get an version mismatch, use parameter SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1 by typing command in an dos prompt "c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1" but remember, you need to have an SP1 installed (somebody said, SP's are incremental).
Reboot and apply then the  CR 2008 SP2 FixPack 7 "cr2008fp27.exe". Use this Link to Download CR and Xcelsius Stuff:
I would suggest you not to use IE for downloading, use an alternative browser. I got only bad downloads (IE8 on Win7).
This is the way i did and this works pretty good.
    Good Luck
    Matthias

  • Function Sequence Error -- After upgrading to Crystal Reports 2008

Since we intergrated Crystal 2008 in our application, We are having the ODBC DRIVER ERROR "S1010, Function Sequence Error"
The following steps reproduces the error.
I open any crystal report(using my application) and close it.
And then I try to close another dialog in my application.
The destructor of that dialog has the DELETE FROM TMPRPT WHERE  etc... But actually the TMPRPT table is empty.
But This Scenario in general, does not produce any error. Only after I open and close Crystal report, and when the TMPRPT table doesn't have any records, executing the above DELETE sql throws CDBException, Funciton Sequence Error.
Is it because of the upgrade/mismatch of dlls? Can any one help how to work around this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Don,
I would like to thank you for your helpful advice. your tips for odbc tracing really works.
Just to simplify things, I have created a simple mfc dialog based application that opens a connection using CDatabase in the initdialog and closes the connection in the destructor(because that is how we do in our main large application). On the dialog i put a "Print" button and when i click it, I open a crystalreportform and fill the connectioninfo structure and then call SetDBLogonForReport(ConnectionInfo connectionInfo, ReportDocument reportDocument). on the Form_closed function, I close database connections  and close the report document.
When I come back to mfc application I execute a Delete from table where 1 =0, basically any delete/update that return empty recordset and it throws function sequence error.

  • Error 1305 while installing Crystal Reports 2008, JavaSDK

While installing Crystal Reports from the original media on a new Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro SP3 I get the following error while installing:
Error 1305: Error reading from File: c:\program files\Business Objects\javasdk\jre\audio\soundbank.gm. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I have the option to retry or cancel, obviously cancel exits the installer. Retry just fails again. I have tried to access the file (which does exist) and I cannot because it is in use. I used Sysinternals process explorer to find out what has the file in use and it is msiexec.exe which is the Microsoft Installer service which is running in order to install CR2008.
I have tried restarting, setting permissions on the file and folder, uninstalling and reinstalling Java VM from Sun. I even tried killing msiexec (which killed the install). I even tried taking out all reference to java in a custom install.
I am at a loss on what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

I found that if I installed it from a copied local directory instead of the CD Rom that it worked

  • COM error in SAP toolbar, Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 FP2.1

    Hi,
    Error: COM execption caught in CExtToolBar::GenerateNewTempalte().HR = 0x80004005, ::InitOpenDialog().HR = 0x800004005; ::InitializeGlobalData(). HR = 0x03edafe7
Unfortunately the error hasn't been fixed for us with FP 2.1 as it was with Sebastian.
    I have GUI 7.10 (7100.2.7.10348 Build 967944 Patch Level 14), Explorer 3.x and 7.0 installed.
We are on SAP Integration Kit SP 2 FP2.1 and CR SP2 FP2.1
I can connect to SAP using the MDX drivers etc, but get the same COM execption caught using the SAP toolbar.
We want to use SAP BW variables as CR parameters in our report and the only way I'm understand from Ingo's previous posts to get a dynamic list of values from a SAP variable is to create the report via the CR SAP toolbar and save it to Infoview.
    thanks

looks identical to your previous item.

  • Cyrstal Report Server Version Compatible With What Crystal Reports 2008 Ver

I am currently running Crystal Report Server Version 12.1.0.882 . I am having issues getting my reports to run on the reporting server. I need to install Crystal Reports on the same machine so that I can test the connection to the database that we are reporting on. The Crystal Report 2008 version I have is 12.2.0.290 but it is incompatible with the current Server version so they can not both run on the same machine.
What version of the Crystal Reporting Server matches up with the latest version of Crystal Report 2008 12.2.0.290?

If you want to run Crystal Reports created with Crystal Reports 2008 designer (I believe you are using SP2) you need to have Crystal Reports Server 2008.
    Hope this helps...

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.1.0.892, when i try to export data to Microsoft Excel(Data Only) it's failing with the error "Failed to export the report.", please help in resolving this issue.

    Hi Abhilash,
I tried suppressing the report header and page header it was working fine, but previously i used to export with all the headers. Without page headers the output file is of no use. I was facing the same issue on one of the local desktops too then i uninstalled the software and installed it again then it was working fine but its not the solution.

  • Deploying Crystal Reports 2008

    Hi,
I have both Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Reports 2008 installed on my development PC.   I'm having issues deploying my applications since I installed Crystal Reports 2008.
Installing on x86 PCs, customers are having to install both:
        CRRedist2008_x86.msi
        CRRuntime_12_0_mlb.msi
on 64-bit PCs, no matter what I try I can not get the reports to generate without an error of missing files or incorrect versions.
I've tried CRRedist2008_x64.msi, (and practically every other possible download of service packs, install MSI files, etc, etc.)
I also can't seem to get any version of merge modules working.  I get all kinds of errors like:
"...Error merging 'CRRuntime_12_2.msm': Unable to merge data from the merge module because it conflicts with existing data in the package.  MergeModule: table='Directory' row='DesktopFolder' Database: table='Directory' row='DesktopFolder'     C:\Projects\iEnergy\Setup\Setup.vdproj     Setup ..."
It seems having both Crystal Reports 2008 (version 12.x), and Visual Studio 2008 (version 10.x) has really messed things up.  There must be a simple way to deploy this on x86 and 64-bit PCs.
Telling customers to install multiple exe/msi files doesn't fly either.
If someone could help clear all this up, I would be really grateful.
    Thanks,
    Glen.

    Hi Glen,
Use the same Patch version of the redist packages as what you have installed on your DEV PC.
You should search here first also, lots of help on distributing which should answer all of your questions also.
First - CRRedist2008_x86.msi is for CR Basic for VS 2008. Not required.
Second - CRRuntime_12_0_mlb.msi is the original release of CR 2008 runtime.
Then your error indicates you are trying to install Service Pack 2.
Check your project, all of the References should be Version 12.x.x.x. The second x indicates the service pack level so this must match with your DEV PC is also using.
Second major change is in your Projects Properties change the CPU to x86 Only. CR 2008 does not have any 64 bit runtime, only 10.2 and 10.5 for VS but it's limited in what it can do in it's API list.
Again search for 64 bit in this forum and you'll find lots of links on how to....
Do not use the MSM's, if you do you also must also include the Windows C++ distribution packages.
Bottom line is search here and you'll find all of your answers.
    Thank you
    Don

  • No SAP Datasources or SAP Toolbar in Crystal Reports 2008

I cannot see the SAP toolbar or SAP datasources under "Create New Connection" in Crystal Reports 2008 SP1.
After reading many threads on SDN and reistalling Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the BOBJ SAP Integration Kit many times I have not been able to get this to work. I have installed the following in order:
    - SAP GUI for Windows
    Release: 710
    Build: 1046700
    Patch Level: 12
includes the BW 3.5 AddOn and BI 7 AddOn
Crystall Reports 2008 SP1 which I installed all components except Legacy XML Export.
Business Objects XI Integration Kit XI 3.1 for SAP which I installed all desktop components and all server components excluding web content and SDK. This was a local install on my PC.
I have ensured that I have only one instance of SAPLOGON.ini on my PC.
I have not applied the transports yet because I want to see the SAP datasources and SAP toolbar in Crystal Reports before I progress.
We do not have Business Objects Enterprise and I'm not sure what "BOE 3.1 Client Tools" is referred to earlier in this thread. My understanding is that in addition to SAP and BW we just need Crystal Reports 2008 and the SAP integration kit.
We are on ECC6 and BW 3.5.
    I hope someone can help.

    Hi Stratos,
Thanks for your response. I finally got this working. My issue was that I originally used the Crystal Reports 2008 and BOBJ Int Kit downloads from the SAP support portal. I checked with another SDN user Steven Dierick - thanks Steven - for the version of Crystal Reports 2008 he was using (version 12.0.0.683).
I downloaded Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.0.0.683 and the BOBJ Int Kit from the downloads section of sdn and it works!! SAP Toolbar, datasources and everything.
Considering I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 are there any disadvantages of not using Crystal Reports 2008 SP1?
If I'm better off using SP1 where should I download Crystal Reports 2008 SP1 and the appropriate BOBJ SAP Integration Kit?
    cheers,
    John

  • Crystal Reports 2008 - automation and scheduling

Hey there Crystal Reports experts... please answer this question:
I've been evaluating the Crystal Reports 2008 package (client package) and have been able to generate some nice summary reports form our SQL database using summary pages which have multiple (up to 4) embedded sub-reports in them.  I think it's doing what I need it to, but my next hurdle is to automate the summary report for 100+ different customers of ours.  The criteria which changes for each customer is a table value in each subreport as well as the date range for the data on the report.  I also need to have the title in the report header of each customer, change to reflect the different customer name and date range.
Is there a way to automate this with the standard Crystal Reports 2008 version?  I've found a few 3rd party applications online that take care of the Crystal Report automation and scheduling as well as conditional data selection at the same time... is that what I need to use if we don't have ther server version of Crystal, or can I automate it using just the standard 2008 client version??

    Hi,
Yes, you need the CR 2008 client license to create the reports and then the server license to distribute the reports.
CR Server 2008 is a single server reporting solution for distributing Crystal Reports only.  BOE is a full BI server that can be scaled beyond a single server solution.  In addition to just reporting it has other capabilities such as ad hoc query and analysis, dashboarding/scorecarding, etc.
CR Server 2008 currently does not include the "Publishing" functionality yet.  Therefore, if you schedule the report to email, all users will see the exact same report.  BOE XI 3.1 does have "Publishing" which lets you burst the report so that through a single schedule, each user only sees their slice of the data for that report.  You can still use CR Server to accomplish something similar, but it would require you to setup an individual schedule per every customer where each schedule is configured to only return the appropriate data for that customer.  This would require a little more effort to setup and maintain.

  • Crystal reports 2008 sp3 : An error has occurred while attempting to load t

    Hello,
Please forgive me for posting in the CR .NET forum because we are using the full Crystal Reports 2008 product and I did not see a category for it.  If there is a better forum for this question, please let me know or feel free to move it.
We are having trouble deploying our crystal reports 2008 reports to a Windows Server 2008 R2 server in an aspx application...
I have been working on this issue for 4-days and cannot seem to make any progress, so I would really appreciate your help.
    Our Environment:
    Development Computer (32-bit, WinXP)
VS2008 (fully updated, was not installed with its Crystal Reports feature)
Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 (downloaded and installed "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild")
    Database Server (64-bit)
"SERVER2" is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 server, fully updated
    Web Server (64-bit)
      "SERVER3" is a Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Web server.
We have an application that is installed on the Web server and it pulls data from the database server.
The webpages are accessing the database properly.  There is a ShowReport.aspx webpage that has the
CrystalReportsViewer on it.  We send parameters and logon information to ShowReport.aspx.  ShowReport
works properly on our development computer and the report looks good, but it fails on the web server.
We downloaded CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86) from SAP/CR and installed it on the web server without any issues.
Our application pool on the web server for this application is set to 32-bit mode.  When I launch the
application, it works properly with the database and displays data on web pages, but when I try to
view a report on ShowReport, I get the following error message:
An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) that contains the version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium)  that is required.
According to everything that I have read, I have properly matched the DLLs: On the development computer, "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild" was installed; On
the web server, "CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86)" was installed.  They are both Crystal Reports 2008 and not .NET.  CR.NET was not installed on our development computer, so our application was built with full Crystal Reports 2008 SP3.  On our development computer, .ENGINE is 12.0.2000.0 and
the same version is on the web server.
So, I am completely at a loss as to why we are encountering this error.  Help, Please!!!
    Thank you in advance,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
Did you set your project for X86 mode only? If not do so and rebuild and deploy your app.
