Error loading Windows 8.1 System Builder

I experienced the following problem when installing Windows 8.1 under BootCamp. I tried to install it under Parallels 10 and the same error resulted. I have tried disconnecting all external items such as HDD printers scanners, etc. The result however is the same. The installation was from a DVD and the error message is "A MEDIA DRIVER YOUR COMPUTER NEEDS IS MISSING. THIS COULD BE A DVD, USB OR HARD DISK DRIVER. IF YOU HAVE A CD, DVD OR USB FLASH DRIVE WITH THE DRIVER ON IT, PLEASE INSERT IT NOW." What should i do in this instance? BTW the version of windows is Windows 8.1 System Builder.

Your DVD has block errors.
1. The ISO to DVD process must be done at the recommended rate for the physical media.
2. You should verify the disk when it is being written.
Please see Disk Utility (Yosemite): Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD.

  • Can I clean install a Windows 7 Pro System Builder on a Lenovo PC with Windows 8 preinstalled?

Hi. I would like to clean install windows 7 on a Lenovo PC  that came with Windows 8 core preinstalled. I want to format the entire drive and remove windows 8 and clean install windows 7.  I already tried the clean install of Windows 7 Pro to get all of my drivers in line, and now I would like to buy a Product Key.
Would  a Windows 7 Pro System Builder work in my case? Would it work just as smoothly as a retail version? I understand that the System Builder is an OEM version that includes the Product Key, COA, and DVD) Just want to make sure before I buy the System Builder version of Windows 7 Pro.  Thanks.
    Grazzie
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

that should be retail since it seemed to be used for pc upgrades either way your new system builder key should work. those are called refresh because they re-released them sincea bug was found in thier installers. Do you have any key in the computer atm? or is windows just waiting to be activated?
EDIT: its a good copy look here>  http://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/14-windows-7-direct-download-links
Should you want to use the DVD images permanently, and don't own a product key yet, you can order a Windows 7 OEM or retail version from Amazon. The OEM reinstallation versions contain a DVD with a product key just like the retail versions. They are significantly cheaper, but lack a proper box packaging, and don't include technical support by Microsoft. The OEM key will work with the Digital River downloads, so you can just pick the cheapest one. Sometimes better editions are the cheaper ones, so all of the following links to Amazon offers might be worth checking. I've already tried to find good deals for all editions and linked to them here:
    I own a Y510p SLI, and Yoga 2 Pro

  • Error message windows\system32\config\system does anyone know what to do to get it working again

    Hi
This above errot message comes up when i try to booth up the computer, when bought the compyer did not come with disk butwas pre installed, its rather urgent as my dad's medical files are on there, any help will be appreciated

    Hi silvanavandijk,
It would be very helpful if you post the whole error and not just the filename. Also it would be very useful to know what OS version/edition (for example: Windows Vista Prof x64) and thinkpad model you got.
I have seen errors that appear right when Windows start to load with a black screen that says windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt or something like that. Is that what you experience? I have also only seen this problem with computers running Windows Vista, are you using Vista?
If this is the problem you see the solution is to boot from a Windows DVD and choose the repair option instead of starting the windows installation. That should fix the problem. Another option would be if you got a image backup of the computer. Without the DVD i don't know how to fix this problem or if it's even possible.

  • Will Windows 7 OEM/System builder work with bootcamp?

    Hello,
I have a early 2009 Mac Pro 2.26x2. I want to install windows 7. Will windows 7 Professional 64bit OEM/System builders edition work with my mac and boot camp, or do I need the full retail version? The OEM system builder edition is much cheaper than the retail version. Later on I may build a core i7 kit PC as a dedicated game machine, would I be able to use the same copy of WIndows 7 64bit OEM/System builder, or would I have to buy another copy for the kit PC? Thanks very much.
    -Eric

    Hi Eric,
recently installed Win7 systems builder version without issues.
System builder versions aren't originally boxed, manuals and MS phone support is not included.
Be aware that Home Premium is limited to only 1 physical cpu (unlimited cores), Professional and Ultimate support 2 physical cpu (Had to learn this the hard way).
If you buy a PC later on without preinstalled OS, you officially will have to buy another copy (or family pack) of Win7.

  • Error Loading XML Data into Template Builder

    Hi,
I am using XMLP 5.6.2 with E-business Suite. I copied a seeded Oracle Apps report and changed the output from Text to XML. I executed the report and it generated XML Output. I saved the output file as an XML file using IE.
When I try to load the XML Data file in MS Word, I am getting:
'Error No :-1072896682: Invalid at the top level of the document.
    Line No : 1
    Position : 1
    File Pos: 0
    Source: Authentication failed
I never had this problem before using the older version of XMLP (I think it was 5.0).
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Try using "view source" within IE to get the XML in a text file (Notepad) and save it from there. Then it should load fine. When you save it directly from the browser window there is extra formatting that prevents it from being loaded in template builder.

  • Can't access EMS or Toolbox - get "load quota for the system has been exceeded" error

I'm trying to run some commands on our CAS servers, and I'm getting the error "load quota for the system has been exceeded".  I'm running two CAS servers in an Exchange 2013 Standard Environment, running on Windows 2012 Standard servers.
Both my CAS servers are getting the error.  I also have two MBX servers, and I can access EMS on those just fine.
I checked another thread that had a similar issue for Exchange 2010:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/1cc17514-44dc-41d9-b319-3232107490c0/cant-open-emc-or-ems-for-exchange-2010-from-local-machine?forum=exchange2010
However none of the fixes they described worked, and some of the fixes look like they're out of date.
Here's the full error message.  It tries to connect to both CAS's, fails, and then connects to the first MBX it can.

  • Drivers error recovering Windows Vista on Satellite A200

    Hello,
I replaced the HD of my Toshiba Satellite A200. I replicate the original disk partitioning in the new disk and installed the original SO (Windows Vista) from the recovery disk.
Everything went well. However, when I started Windows for first time, it was unable to end the autoconfiguration phase. An error message appeared on the screen: it had been unable to find all the drivers that it needs.
After accepting the error message, windows rebooted the system without giving me any chance.
Can anyone tell me what went wrong with the Windows recovery process?
How can I add the drivers needed or skip the autoconfiguration process to do it later?

    > {quote:title=JoeLouis wrote:}{quote}

    > No, if you want to add the driver while windows installation and setup process, you have to use an Microsoft Windows disk Toshiba recovery disk contains an image which is NOT the same like a common installation disk!
That's completely right. However, after copying the image to the HDD, the system reboots and loads Vista for first time. Then, the system starts a non-interactive autoconfiguration process (it shows a label similar to "Please, wait...").
Eventually, it shows an error message and shuts down.
This leads me to think that the image copy process went well (the system loads without trouble) but then Windows loads a wrong driver to manage the HDD and crashes.
I would like to know if I can change any option in a configuration file (after copying the image in the HDD and before loading the OS for first time) to make this process interactive or to load a different set of drivers to manage the HDD. Does anyone have a clue?

Wow! Your PC is almost as old as my  (1996) Compaq 14XL244 Notebook.
It still works, but required hard disk replacement about six years ago.  I suspect you will have a very hard time getting any files from your IDE hard disk. You can try putting the hard disk in an external enclosure and connecting it via USB to another PC.
The error message that you are seeing means that the BIOS can no longer recognize the hard dive.
It is probably time to consider updating to a more recent PC. You certainly got plenty of good service life from it.
    Kind regards,
    erico

  • Error loading operating system (windows 7)

    Macbook pro 8,2 (early 2011)
Samsung SSD 850 evo primary drive
OWC electra 3G secondary drive in place of the original DVD drive (with disk doubler).
My original HDD was removed for the two SSD configuration.
It contains two partition (OS X and Win 7 pro) and everything works fine.
I use Winclone to clone Win 7 partition to the new OWC drive.
My OS X partition was placed on the primary Samsung drive.
    OS X works fine.
Win 7 works fine when i use Parallels Desktop (virtualization).
But when i try to boot with Win 7, i have the " error loading operating system" black screen.
I cannot repair Win 7 with the installation disc because when i try to boot with the DVD, i have à black screen with a white cursor and nothing happend. (original DVD drive is used in usb, inside a dedicated external cradle).

Thank you for your help !

You are creating a new protective MBR, not a Hybrid MBR. A protective MBR encapsulates the disk into a single entry the size of the disk so legacy partitioning tools leave it untouched to 'protect' the GPT.
In your case, since disk1 has only two partitions, GPT1 and GPT2, you should have two entries.
Here is an example, where GPT3, 4 and 5 are hybridized.
Rebuild MBR to match the new GPT information thus resetting the Hybrid MBR.
Use defaults for other questions (for example Enter an MBR hex code (default AF): AF).
    Sudo gdisk /dev/disk0
    P  (Print list of parts)
    R   (Recover)
    H (chooses Hybrid)
Partitions numbers to be hybridized: 3 4 5
    Y (Good for GRUB question)
    N (part 3 boot flag)
    N (part 4 boot flag)
Y  (part 5 boot flag make NTFS bootable partition)
P  (Print list of parts again)
    W  (Write the new MBR)
Y    (Yes! write the new MBR)
    Reboot
Please ensure that the following questions get appropriate defaults or correct values for the MBR hex codes as suggested by Gdisk. These are examples using a standard, your partition numbers will have a differential of 1. Given the prior Gdisk steps, your mapping will look as follows
GPT1+2 (EFI+OSX) = MBR1 (You lose read visibility to OSX from Windows).
    GPT3 = MBR2 (Recovery HD).
    GPT4 (Shareddisk) = MBR3 (Shareddisk)
GPT5 (Bootcamp) = MBR4 (Bootcamp - This should be made bootable).
You can create variants of which partitions get mapped to which MBR). If you use 2 4 5, then Recovery will look like Free Disk space to Windows and can be corrupted. If you use 4 5, then EFI+OSX+Recovery HD will end up in MBR1. Try and see which works the best for you. In this configuration, I would also recommend not using any third-party NTFS tools.
The following is an example for 2 3 4
Creating entry for GPT partition #2 (MBR partition #2)
Enter an MBR hex code (default AF): AF
Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): n
Creating entry for GPT partition #3 (MBR partition #3)
Enter an MBR hex code (default AB): AB
Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): n
Creating entry for GPT partition #4 (MBR partition #4)
Enter an MBR hex code (default 07): 07
Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): y
In your case the steps will become...
    Sudo gdisk /dev/disk0
    P  (Print list of parts)
    R   (Recover)
    H (chooses Hybrid)
Partitions numbers to be hybridized: 2
    Y (Good for GRUB question)
Y  (part 2 boot flag make NTFS bootable partition)
P  (Print list of parts again)
    W  (Write the new MBR)
Y    (Yes! write the new MBR)
    Reboot
After the reboot, check the output of sudo fdisk /dev/disk0.

  • "Error loading operating system" in windows 7 bootcamp

Hello, Im trying to boot up my windows 7 and its giving me "Error loading operating system". But the wierd thing is from Mac OS X i can access my bootcamp without any problem "browsing it", all my music is on it actually. Any solutions guys?

    Hi guys,
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I am suddenly having a very similar problem and maybe one of you can help me.  I have searched the problem using many different phrases but have not found a solution to my specific issue anywhere so I turned here.
Problem : I am getting the "Error Loading Operating System" error on the windows side after trying to boot up using BootCamp.
More Info / History :  Everything was running fine until I updated OSX to 10.10.02.  I have an unsupported card with no EFI : GTX 980 so I couldn't tell what was going on with the update but it just hung in black screen for a while and then when into an infinite restart-loop.  Sooooo, I pulled the card and put my old GTX 120 with EFI back in to see what the **** was going on and miraculously it decided to finish the update.  (Maybe it had something to do with the unsupported card? IDK)  The update finished successfully after i swapped out the cards but I fear i screwed up something by restarting during the update (I was hung up, I waited a very long time before hitting the power button).  OSX is running ok, I put the other card back in and it is working ok now, but...  BootCamp was working...  once.  Then I restarted and it wouldn't work, I got the error message.  So I tried doing a verify/repair disk on both drives, OSX and W7, and that didn't do anything, so I tried to start BootCamp assistant and I couldn't...  So I reset the PRAM and that fixed the problem with BootCamp Assistant, so now that starts up, but I don't know if I can repair the issue with it?  However I still can't boot into Windows.  Again, when I hold down option on boot, I do get the menu (BootCamp?) to choose which OS to go into.  Side Note, when I pick Recovery Mode from that menu, I get the mac error message and it restarts.
All the W7 Files are still present on the drive...  Is there any way I can back up the image, re-prep the drive for BootCamp and re-image it to repair it?  All thoughts, suggestions, etc. welcome.

  • T61: "Error loading operating system" after reboot with Windows XP SR3

So here is my problem:  Occasionally, after reboot I get "Error loading operating system" right after the Lenovo screen (the one where you can press ThinkVantage button). After that the only thing I can do is shut down the computer and fix the windows boot (see bellow…). I'm running Windows XP SR3, clean install.
I've had my T61 for 6 months now and I've had this problem about 8 times so far. Obviously this makes my T61 unstable and is becoming a major problem (I like to shut down the computer before taking it anywhere, and I don't really use Hibernate).
Solving the boot is very easy and takes 3 minutes… But the Win XP CD is needed for the fix and I don't want to carry it around with me everywhere. And anyway this is annoying and makes my T61 crippled…
    To fix the problem:
1 Change AHCI -> Compatibility in BIOS.
2 Boot using the Windows XP CD.
3 Enter the Recovery Console (press R).
4 Use "fixboot" to write a new boot sector.
    5 Restart ("exit").
6 Change back to AHCI in Bios.
After that the computer works perfect until the next time… Things I have tried so far:
1 Installed latest Bios for T61.
2 Checked firmware for HD (WD Scorpio WD1600BEVS) and it's the latest.
3 Installed all windows updates for Windows XP.
4 Installed all latest drivers for T61 (specifically checked the Intel Matrix Storage Driver and it's the latest).
5 Checked computer for Viruses, malware, etc. with a few scanners. It's clean.
6 Updated some of the programs that I thought might be causing problems: Avira , PerfectDisk 2008, TrueImage Home…
7 Checked HD with WD Diagnostics tools
I am out of ideas. Something is corrupting the boot sector occasionally when I shut down the system. But I can't find why or under  what circumstances it happens… The only thing I didn't try was a completely new clean system install, a thing which I REALLY don't want to do. Except for this problem the system is great, very stable and I'm very happy with it.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I run the windows version of TestDisk. Is there any specific reason for me to make a Live CD? It seems to work just fine in windows. Anyway, I run all the analysis tests with it. It did NOT find any problems. Is there some specific test I should run?
Some further testing has shown me that the problem happens sometime during using windows and not upon restarting... When it does happen I can no longer use chkdsk - it gives the following error message:
"The type of the filesystem is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives."
    Some other things I tried:
    - I've pretty much ruled out physical HD problems (I checked the HD with PC Doctor, WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic Tool and chkdsk - no problems). And the HD shows no symptoms of failure (no noises or any other problems).
    - Ruled out boot-sector Viruses (cheked the computer with 4 different antiviruses - Avira,AVG, Kaspersky and NOD32).
    - Manually checked the boot.ini file - no problems.
    - I have also found while googling that the problem might have to do with a registry entry concerning HDs bigger then 137gb. I double checked that entry and it's fine.
    - Tried both fixmbr and fixboot, alone and together - windows boots, but the problem comes back again after a few hours/days...
    Things I'm trying now:
    - Reinstalled the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers (before I just checked that they are the latest).
    - Disabled the Active Protection System (I am shooting in the dark...).
I am getting pretty desperate here.

  • Installing windows to bootcamp: "error loading operating system"

It doesn't matter whether I'm trying to install windows 7 or XP sp2 or XP sp3. I get the same Error. I've tried different CDs for each flavor too. (I believe in backup!) These are NOT bootlegged so that is not the issue.
I have a 1.66MHz Macmini core duo with 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. The Superdrive seems to work as I was able to burn an ISO to CD earlier today with no problems. I don't know what else to check.
Has anyone else had this problem? or maybe have any ideas of what I can try further? Any help would be appreciated.  I usually don't need windows, but my Will software is PC and I need to update my paperwork.
    Thanks,
    Kayo

  • Deploy Web Site Error:Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies

I have created a ASP.NET web Site (not Web application), using Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate and "SQL Server Compact 4.0 Local Database" in my C# Code.
I am able to successfully compile & publish the website to another IIS Web Server, with Operating System Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. I can even test, successfully, this website on the machine I developed it in.
I am publishing the website, from within Visual Studio, to a Network web server running IIS.  To Publish I am using Build-> "Publish Web Site".  In the Publish Profile, I am using Web Deploy Method. Even though I am using, successfully,
"SQL Server Compact 4.0 Local Database" in my website, the "settings" (in Publish Profile) does not detect any Databases in the project. Which may not be a problem.
When I try to bring up the web site on the IIS Web Server machine I get the following error..
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies .
As my project is a Web Site, not Web Site Application, I do not have a references node in the Solution Explorer. I think the System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll, which is type GAC in my project, is not getting published to the webserver, which is causing this Error.
Can I copy this .dll over manually ? If yes, where to put on the ISS Web Server ? I do not see any bin folder.
Any help to resolve this error will be appreciated.

Hello.. I went ahead and created web application project and have gone past that error. But I have a new error now
System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException: Unable to load the native components of
SQL Server Compact corresponding to the ADO.NET provider of version 8876.
Install the correct version of SQL Server Compact. Refer to KB article 974247
    for more details.
Compiling and Publishing (Deployment) are both successful
In my project, when adding reference to SQL Server Compact Edition , there are 2 possible locations to reference the DDL from:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v4.0\Private
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v4.0\Desktop.
I have tried both. I get the same error as shown above.
Interestingly, in My WebConfig, I do not see any reference to System.Data.SqlServerCe.
Yet, the Website works when I click on Ctrl+F5
