Error message 13005 when trying to run iTunes 8

Can anyone help me. I bought my new nano today. Have previously run iTunes with no problems but but today this error message comes up. Have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail.

Message numbers in the 13000 range are usually do to a problem with Genius. I have seen 2 totally different fixes posted here in the forums. edit - Sounds like you already tried method 1.
*Method 1*
Rename these files, or delete them
iTunes Library Genius.itdb
iTunes Library Extras.itdb
Try opening iTunes again. And turn off Genius as fast as you can. You can turn it back on later, but first get iTunes running.
*Method 2*
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Choose iTunes, press the Change button and then the repair button.

  • Error message 13005 when trying to open iTunes

Hi, my iTunes updated over the weekend and now will not open. I get the following error message.
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unkown error occurred (13005)."
Have completly uninstalled iTunes and re installed. Have uninstalled and installed an older version of itunes. Tried moving my Library file to my desktop to re install it (but couldn't open itunes to re install it). Tried deleting all genius files etc.
Followed every idea I've seen on the forum but to no avail! I run my library on a timecapsule.....saw something about a potential problem with a firm wear update but no solution....
    Anyone got any ideas?
    thanks

I get error message -42408 when trying to download itunes update 11.0.2 and I therefore can not update to that latest version.  What can I do?

    Hey there davidgor2!
I have found an article that should help you resolve this issue with updating your iTunes. The article can be found here:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
and the specific part of the article you will want to look at first is right here:
    "Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
    Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Regards,

I get error message 42032 when trying to connect an iPhone to iTunes. Any ideas how to fix it?

Did you already try these suggestions?
    Check USB connections
    Related errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.
