Error message: 150:30 Licensing for this product has stopped working. Nothing here has worked. Now what?

I get this message for all of my Adobe Creative Suite CS4 applications. Just loaded everything onto a new computer from my backup drive. I have tried all of the recommendations here. I don't know what to do now. None of the files exist that I'm supposed to either delete or change. The Licensing Repair Tool would not launch.

You're welcome. It's kind of hard explaining Terminal scripts to newcomers, but you did very well.
Check the illustrator forums on this one. Illustrator
There is a downloadable installer for your suite if needed. Have your serial numbers ready if it comes to that.

  • Error 148.3 (licensing for this product has stopped working)

I received error 148.3 (licensing for this product has stopped working). I looked up the error, but the fix says it is only for "... Creative Suite 3 or 4 products, Acrobat 8 or 9, Photoshop Elements 6, 7 or 8, Director, and Technical Communication Suite." and RoboHelp is not mentioned. Is RoboHelp part of the Technical Communication Suite?  I tried phoning support, but the person had not even heard of RoboHelp. Does anyone know how I rebuild the license file? Note that Acrobat professional comes up okay. I need to compile soon for a product release and feel so frustrated.
    Thanks,
    Jacqui

And we're back. Writing the question made me check what the Technical Communication Suite is. It includes RoboHelp, so I went ahead with the LicenseRecover as recommended on the Adobe site and the system now works.

  • Error message opening PS CS3 Extended : "Licensing for this product has stopped working"

I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from my (very) old Mac OS X to a new iMac OS X Yosemite. Before doing so, I uninstalled my (also very old) PS CS3 Extended. When I tried to open PS on the new Mac it asked me to download Java, which I did. But now when trying to open PS again the error message is "Licensing for this product has stopped working". I purchased it about 5 years ago in a box which I no longer have, but I do have the complete 24 digit serial number. How best do I remedy this?

Download the Photoshop CS3 installer Max or PC here. You should be good to go.

"Migrating" and/or "transferring" an application is not just asking for trouble but demanding it!

  • Licensing for this product has stopped working error - PS6

    Hi friends.

Any help? Using Windows Vista Business 32-bit. Thanks.

Do you suppose upgrading to Elements 12 would get rid of the issue at hand?

  • "Licensing For this Product Has Expired" (But I just bought it!)

I'm having an installation problem, with Adobe CS4 Design Premium for Windows on Vista(64).  For technicality purposes, I believe everything installed fine, but I have not been able to open the programs even once, which apparently means this is an installation issue.
    Here's the situation:
I had a trial version of Photoshop CS4, it expired, I uninstalled it (or at least went to Control Panel-->Programs And Features--->"Uninstall"), bought Adobe Premier with my student discount, installed it with the new serial number and the 2 CDs without any problems (so I thought), but now every time I try to open any CS4 Program (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.--anything but Acrobat Pro or Bridge CS4) I get a message saying, 'Licensing for this product has expired.'
I found an equivalent issue with Macs and there appears to be a quick fix:
"The tech had me remove APPLICATION SUPPORT > ADOBE > ADOBE PCD > cache > cache.db (to trash)"  This apparently solved the problem.
Does anyone know an equivalent fix for Windows PCs?
I've have tried downloading the fix from the following website:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html
(Running this multiple times, rebooting, etc.) but I believe the above website is just for problems of "License has stopped working" and not "Licensing for this product has expired"
I also tried setting my laptop's date/time back to May 31st 2009 following these instructions:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49485.html
but when I do that, I get the original, 'Accept these Terms' page, and as soon as I click "I agree' that page disappears, and nothing else happens. My computer works fine, but the program does not start. Therefore I can't deactivate the program/serial number, reset the correct date, start the program, and enter the proper serial number.
Any chance someone knows the appropriate Windows File to remove to solve this problem?  Or have any other advice?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kevin
PS--I've tried to stay professional about this situation, but it really has me livid.  I'm appalled that something that cost me 300+ dollars (and I am fully aware it costs most honest people significantly more) could have caused me to waste the better part of a day, and get so frustrated, and I am still no closer to a solution.  If it doesn't get resolved soon I am tempted to try returning the software as 'defective' (which for all intents and purposes it is) or never buy an Adobe product again.  My friends have less trouble with the cracks/keygens/etc out there, and they're up $300+ on me.

    UPDATE:
So, I took John T. Smith's advice (thanks for the phone number--relatively short wait time compared to the other number I had tried), and called Customer Service.  I got the usual run-around, where the first guy wanted me to try all the things I described in the original post. Had me try something else (which involve reinstalling) which didn't work. Finally, the next gal I talked with admitted she didn't know the solution, and the problem would be 'upgraded' to the next higher level of presumably smarter tech people.  I asked the time frame for this, and she said 1-2 days, which I wasn't happy about, and finally spoke with her supervisor.  This person walked me through the uninstallation, and had 'some files' I should delete.  AND FINALLY, I GOT WHAT I WANTED:
He said if I just removed/deleted the following file:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobePCD\Cache\Cache.db
So the order he wanted me to do it was:
Uninstall CS4 Design Premium (with windows vista Program and Features in the Control Panel, remove the above file, restart my computer, and reinstall the software. The reinstall didn't go smoothly the first time or two (early on, it said Illustrator, Photoshop, etc could not be installed..) so I just closed ALL programs, and tried again) and finally everything works, or seems to!
From what I read on a Mac forum with the same problem, it seems like I might not have had to uninstall/reinstall the whole suite (which I wish I'd tried, because it would have saved me nearly 2 hours).
But at any rate, everything seems to be working.  I wrongly assumed the PC version would have had a different culprit file to be removed.  I wish I'd searched my hard drive for the AdobePCD folder earlier.  But...now I am happy.
Cheers, and I hope this post might be of some help to a poor unfortunate lad with the same problem I had.

  • CS3 Help for "Licensing for this product stopped working!"

Today my CS3 gave this error, although I've been using CS3 without any problems with VISTA since last April! See product & OP sys info at btm.
I searched for help, I found under TechNote kb402004 the implied solution! Well not quite since it is NOT working! I spent today over 8 hrs in an attempt to fix this.
The error in detail: Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help."
OK, I am my own IT administrator, I called Adobe 1-800-833-6687 but after selecting option 1) on the phone just rings and rings, no answer for about 1.5 hrs!!! So I gave up!!!
The TechNote does say to uninstall; well a bit difficult because I have to deactivate first! But for that CS3 has to be running!
SO followed the solutions all 3 of them.
    1) Doesn't do anything, same problem!
    2) is the same result!
    3) part 2, I moved the cache file as indicated, cS2 comes alive, well barely thus I was able to deactivate.
However I was not having luck in uninstalling from VISTA. Using Start >Control Panel>Uninstall program> Adobe Photoshop CS3, absolutely refused to work!
SO I tried manual uninstall (the hard way) as out lined by TechNote kb401501, tried several times went through all the steps, including downloading the Microsoft msicuu2.exe to do it with! After several tries it did finally deleted CS3, so I could attempt a clean re-install!
SO I downloaded CS3, well I could only download the trial one, I do not have the CD disk, as my CS3 was an internet download (upgrade). 20 minutes later (luckily for hi-speed it only took 20 minutes for the full download, I tried to reinstall! Turn off antivirus, turn off firewall so I cam install!
Not quite! It failed. SO I had to go through all the above again to clean it out from VISTA. Download again! Done this 3 times before it finally started to install. Of course that is the old version, why would Adobe be kind enough to have the updated version available to install in the first place??? OK so downloaded another 180 MB or so, tried to update! Well the update crashed 4 times too, before CS3 finally was updated to 10.0.1. Then I had to register and activate CS3 again! Great it should work, well so I though!
Well not quite it gave me the same error!!!! SO what is wrong with CS3??? I need help! Thank all of you who can help me!! System Details:

Why will Photoshop CS4 not open after loading to new iMac from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.

I had to restore my iMac from Time Machine. After the restoration all programs are functioning except my Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. When I start any program in the suite the error message, "Licensing for this product has stopped working." I restarted the computer and tried again to run Photoshop and the same error message appeared. The message was followed by a message that stated that I needed to contact Adobe technical support and mention Error: 150.30. I need Adobe technical support to provide me a solution for my problem so I can continue using my Adobe products installed on my computer.

Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite.  You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

  • CS4 won't start up on my new computer. The error message I get is "Licensing for this product has stopped working."

CS4 won't start up on my new computer. The error message I get is "Licensing for this product has stopped working."  Both the old and new computer are MACs and the error code I get is 150:30.  It says to restart the computer or open another application in the suite, but neither helps.  It says if nothing helps to contact Adobe support, but this is the only way I'm given to contact adobe support.  Can I really not use my purchased software on my new computer?  What do I do to activate the license on the new computer?
