Error Message 2001 with new ITunes 8 (for Mac) & IPhone 2.1

Same general subject as many of tonight's posts. I updated to ITunes 8 & IPhone 2.1. There was some sort of problem during the latter update and my phone now has the "Cord &ITunes logo" with no emergency switch. When I connect the phone to the Mac through a USB, ITunes says that a recovery was stopped and that I must recover. So I hit recover but before the recover finishes it replies with Error message 2001 that it couldn't complete.
This occurred on a relatively recent Mac. My only goal is to get the phone working - I'll restore my settings and sync the music later.
Thank you
Tom

I don't have that same problem, I was able to download the new Ipod Touch software, but now that I have iTunes 8 and the new Ipod Touch software, it won't let me sync my Ipod. Any info would be great. When I try I get this message:
The Ipod "Matt's Itouch" cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13213).
This just started happening this afternoon (I downloaded everything this morning.

Unlock iTunes / get write permission

Wanted to upload some songs from my iTunes Library to new Nano.
Hooked it up, went through the promps, choose two playlists to load, and before we could say oops, we saw that it was infact loading the entire library. We had no way of stopping the process so we unplugged it.
Now when I try to open iTunes it I get an error message :"The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."
I verified permissions and repaired them. No luck.
    Help! Please!

i'm assuming the Error code HRESULT: 0x800763b3 means something and is the solution but where can i find the answer or am i going about this all wrong?
Yeah, this 0x800763b3 is a slightly unusual one. Normally with these, the iTunes install error code matches the error codes that people get on their Windows Update failures. But for the last two 0x800763b3s I've been involved in on an iTunes install (Liv and someone else), the 0x800763b3 on the iTunes install has been associated with an 0x8007000b on the Windows Update failures. (Liv's 643s were pretty much "generic" error message codes for Windows Update failures, which could mean anything. So that's why I/we went after the 0x8007000b, which has some Microsoft documentation on fixes.)
Doublechecking on other symptoms of your situation ... is your Windows Update not opening at all when you try to launch it?
If so, when you click "Turn Windows features on or off" in the "Programs and Features Control Panel" item, is the Windows Features dialog box empty? (No features are shown?)
(If we can't get the codes from the windows update failures, we might be able to make some progress if we can identify other symptoms that you're getting. I know some documentation for some of these codes that mentions the Windows Features thing as a possible additional symptom.)

  • Error Message When Uninstalling Old iTunes for 7.7

When uninstalling (as a natural part of the process of installing 7.7) a message comes up saying that it cannot find iTunes.msi and asks me to find the file. I have no idea where it is. It isn't in either of the two suggested locations.
    Any help is much appreciated.

a message comes up saying that it cannot find iTunes.msi and asks me to find the file.
With that one, let's try the following procedure.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
    (1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    (2) Open the Program Files folder.
    (3) Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (4) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (5) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue. (Note: These files may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (6) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    (7) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

  • How can I get rid of all the useless junk in the new iTunes for Mac?

I'm sorry, but I've been using iTunes ever since it was introduced, and I LOATHE this latest version's (11.0.2.26) interface. Is there anyway I can configure it so that it's more like the nice & simple older versions?
    Bart Brown

    Hi Bart,
I think I spoke to soon.  I got 2 of your replies, back to back.  Like I said, this sure isn't a user friendly site.
btw:  Totally off topic.  I'm sure you heard about Amanda Berry & the other two women being found after missing for 10 yrs.
Well, I just got an email today of Mr. Ramsey's (the man who rescued them), interview converted into a
song.  Quite the catchy tune.  It's a Hit.  Here's the link.

  • IPhone: Error "0xE8000025" when syncing in iTunes for MAC, not windows

The "phone" speaker on my iPhone stopped working tonight, so I tried a power off, didnt work, so I tried a hard reset. Didnt work. So I restored the OS on my iPhone, now i get the 0xE8000025 error every time I try to connect, any one else have this problem or a solution?

Yes, however, I was able to finally sync my phone, I don't know how it worked or what I did differently, I just restarted iTunes and it appeared, but my original problem (the phone speaker) still exists. When I turn on speakerphone, or when I use the headphone mic, I can hear the dial tone/conversations like normal, but I cannot use the phone otherwise.

  • My daughter has an ipod and used itunes through her mom's account, we now set up a new itunes for her iphone, we were able to transfer the purchased music to the library but not the songs she had on old cd's, how do I get all the music off her ipod?

My stepdaughter has an ipod and used her mom's itunes account, now we set her up with her own itunes but I can only transfer purchased music to her library. How do I get all of her music off of her ipod? (she doesn't have all the cd's she used)

You may be able to buy a program to do this - not supported by Apple.
the ipod is not a storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchaes.
The music should be on a computer as that is where they came from in the first place.

I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder."
I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?

Look in your Home > Music folder.  There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl  You want to guide iTunes to that file.  If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

it only happens for previous purchases - if you have a computer you can try to download your purchase history there and then just sync them to your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386.
