Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on): If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software.

  • An unknown error (2003) when restore iPod Touch

downloaded the latest version of iTunes and tried to restore my iPod touch to iTunes, but it complains that it will have an unknown error (2003). I tried to restore my iPod about 20 times, but the same error comes every time. Then I plug the iPod off my computer and I plugged it in again. But then iTunes was complaining to me that the iPod that I plugged in is on a restore mode. I did everything by correcting the bug and am looking for the whole night Apple.com to answer this problem. I did the thing with Notepad, but it did not help at all. I'm looking for all the troubleshooting and I checked my computer but it did not help at all. I downloaded iTunes again but it did not help. What can I do? When my iPod is in a restore mode, I can not put music on, and I can not even open my iPod. The display shows only the cable and iTunes symbol. Please, help me.

Does nobody have the answer to this question? Was somply tryin to update my ipod touch and it got all the way to the end and saod it couldnt update, then went in to "recovery mode" and needed to restored. Restoring will not work either, (error 2003) And now I too have an ipod that will not do anything! I dont care if it wont update, I just want it back the way it was before I plugged it in and tried to update it. Someone must have the answer to this!

  • HT1339 Why am I receiving network errors while restoring ipod touch?

When trying to restore our ipod we have turned off all settings within our internet options, and it continues to have errors in timing out.

Passcodes are not activated automatically. That can only be setup by the user.
If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.

  • Computer turned off while restoring ipod touch 4th gen

My ipod screen recently had it's screen changed, causing the ipod to white screen. I tried to do the simple reboot of holding down the home button and lock button at the same time, and also doing the same including the volume button, but unfortunately it failed, so I had to restore it. But while in the process of it being restored my laptop decided it would be funny to freeze, then blue screen, then restart itself, and now my ipod won't turn on or anything. I've plugged in into my laptop and the computer makes that noise when something has been connected, but it doesn't detect it.
I do not know what to do, can someone please help me?

Try placing the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • Anybody recieve error message 1603 while restoring?

My iPhone has become frozen during the restore process... all I get is a yellow caution sign telling me connect to iTunes. When I do, following the restore application, i get the unknown error message 1603, and that the phone can't be restored. Anyone out there know what to do?

I allowed my iphone battery to fully discharge and upon recharging got the error message with a large exclamation mark “please connect to itunes”. When I connected to itunes I was told that the phone was in recovery mode and needed to be reloaded. Itunes went out and downloaded the new firmware and began the install process after I approved the input screen that said it would wipe out all my data. 1/3 of the way through the process I received a message box that told me the process had failed to restore the iphone for an unknown error (number 1603).
After looking online and calling ATT as well as Apple the best solution I received was to send the iphone in for replacement (i am 5 hours from an apple store). After fiddling around I have managed to solve the problem on my own.
After trying everything else with no results, I pulled the SIM card out of the iphone and plugged the iphone into my computer. Itunes then reloaded the software and firmware successfully. I then put the SIM card back in and synced it up with itunes and it asked me to confirm the resync. Afterwards it just worked fine.
    My iphone works again!

  • IPod Touch will not restore, error message 1602 "cannot restore Ipod"

My Touch was acting funny today by causing me to not be able to change my volume. The problem went away this afternoon, but re-occurred tonight and wouldn't go away. So I tried restoring and after the software was updated iTunes gave me an error 1602 message that said it couldn't be restored. Now iTunes doesn't even recognize the device and the screen on my Touch shows the computer end of the USB cord with an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo. I did not check for updates on my iTunes before doing the restore, but am in the process of downloading the latest version of iTunes (8.1.1).
Also, can someone tell me how to deal with my volume not being able to change in the future? Is it as simple as doing a soft reset by holding down the home button and sleep button at the same time? I tried going into settings -> music -> volume control and that didn't do anything.
This was purchased in early March 2009 and already it is giving me problems... Help needed. Thanks.

I have no clue what a jailbroken ipod is, but a quick search on it shows that it's some sort of hack? I can assure you it has NOT been hacked and that this is either an issue with the iPod or my USB ports. At this point, I am more inclined to think it's an issue with my USB ports as multiple flash drives do not even register on my computer (though they can be safely ejected...).

  • App store error message downloading BBM to iPod touch

    Has anybody seen this message?
It's my daughters iPod. Trying to get her BBM so she and I can chat when I'm away (I have BB...not always carryin my iPad around with me). I did have BBM on my previous iPhone 5S, but it doesn't appear in my purchased apps (at least as far as I can see...a search function or ability to re-order the list would be wonderful, Apple).
    Any insight appreciated.

(To fill in the obvious blank in the original post....)
    we have family sharing.
(Taking that info and add it to what was already there...)
so....cannot find BBM in my list of previously downloaded apps (it's a big list, which cannot be searched, thanks Apple) from my daughters iPod through family sharing.  Trying instead to re-download it (usually not an issue in anyway whatsoever), but get the message shown.
I assume this clarify's the situation?

  • Failed to restore iPod touch (Error code 9)

Few days after upgarding my iPod touch to iOS 5, I got a message on the iPod saying I need to connect to iTunes.
After connecting to teh iPod to the PC, the iTunes says I need to restore the device.
I tried to restore few times with no success - each time the follwoing message is displayed:
"The iPod could not be restored. An unkown error occured (9)".
How can I restore the iPod back to normal operation ?
    Roy

Try this, copied from Update and restore error messages on iPhone and iPod touch
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

If it is asking for the screen-lock passcode then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
    Otherwise follow varjak paw recommendation

while updating ipod touch 4 i got an error message now stuck with apple symbol and empty bar. can i restart ipod?

    - What was the error message?
    - Try closing iTunes and then disconnect the iPod from the computer. Then reconnect the iPod.  If the iPod shows in iTunes then you can try again.  However, You should try to resolve the error message first.
    - If iTunes does not see the iPod try reetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - I recommend that you come back with the what the error message said and the condition of the iPod and if it is visible in iTunes.
