Error message Acrobat 9

Help! I keep getting this error message in Acrobat 9
Standard:
Accumulated text within the attempted selection area is rotated
other than horizontal or vertical. TouchUp cannot create a text
selection.
Is there a work around for this problem? I don't have any
rotation in the file. I have some text that I have to change fonts
for. I don't always get this message, but I don't have rotated
text.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard version in Windows 8.1 and when I try to create a .pdf file, I receive the following error message "Acrobat could not open "file name.log" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. To create a PDF document, go to the source application then print the document to .pdf" I am going to the source application and printing the document to .pdf yet it's saving the file as a .log file. After reinstalling the software, I initially didn't encounter this problem but on my second and third attempts to convert files to .pdf format, this error message reappeared. How do I resolve this problem?

I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.
the log says the bellow details...what's the problem and how can i resolve it? thanks.

My harddrive crashed. New one installed. Restored data from Time Machine. When launching Acrobat 9 Pro, I get the following error message:
"Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another component of this suite (such as Adobe Photoshop).
I followed the prompt but still not launching. Any suggestions.

Hi baxterbabe,
It is not recommended to use Time Machine to restore Adobe installations.
As you can see that this has caused the corruption of the licensing file.
Try launching Photoshop, go to 'Help' and select 'Deactivate' and then click 'Activate' from the same location.
Now launch Acrobat and check if it works properly.
You might also want to run the licensing repair tool from the link: Adobe - Adobe Licensing Repair Tool and check if that works.
If both these suggestions fail then you might want to uninstall the software completely and reinstall.

Unknown Error Message/Acrobat XL Pro

I keep getting an "encountered unknown error" message when trying to open and edit existing PDF files in the trial version of Acrobat XL Pro. Any suggestions?

I encountered the above error message when I try to open any PDF document.
I could open in IE, but not using my Acrobat 9 Pro

Does this happen with all PDF files? Is a modal dialog already open in Acrobat when you are trying to open a PDF?

I receive this error message when attempting to save as a compressed/optimized pdf The PDF that is 1400+ pages btw.

Yes it is up to date. Trying to save as an optimized PDF and it just keeps giving the error message. I have tried to change the settings in preflight and other areas but have not had success.

Error Message - Acrobat not working

I've been struggliing with a persisten problem with Acrobat Standaard for some time now. It opens existing PDF's and will allow some editing. But if I try to create a PDF from say a word document or Web page it freezes and I have to close it using Task Manager. Then it wimply won't open and i get the following error messaage:
If I reboot then it's like starting over but always with the same end result.
I have updated Acrobat but to no avail. Recently I downlaoded the trial verson of Acrobat 11 but decided it was more than I needed. On install of Acrobat 11 it created a Folder of my Acrobat 10 install. I was hoping that when I reinstalled it from that folder I'd get a clean install but I'm experiencing the same problem. Presently I can't find my original Acrobat 10 CD. Severa mlonths ago I moved for Hawaii to NC and I can't put my hands on the CD.
I hope someone here can help me. I also have submitted an inquiry with Adobe support. Thanks.

Dear Ajlan. I did as you suggested. First I downloaded the Adobe cleaner. I
cleaned both Acrobat 10 and Acrobat Reader. I rebooted. Then I went looking
for Acrobat 10 using the link you provided. I followed the instructions on
the page ensuring that I was logged in to my account. The first few links
that stated "Acrobat 10" on the website actually were linked to Acrobat 11!
the one link that I did find after sifting through all of them would only
download Acrobat Pro. My serial number is not a valid Pro serial number.
All I want is a good clean link to Acrobat 10. Can you please give me a

Fatal error message-acrobat failed

I cannot download anything. I keep getting acrobat failed to load its core dll. What does this mean and how can I correct this?

I did this and they said that they send thousands of these e-mails and attachments out and we are the only people who are having trouble. I tried several other computers to see if the PDF opened OK on them but had no success. I still get the same error message

I bought a copy of Adobe Acrobat XI and installed it on my computer. It worked good for about a month. Than it would not load the program so I could. I tried to open as the adminstrator and the program still does not open. I ran a troubleshooter and it said"Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE Server". What can I do to fix this problem so Acrobat XI will run?

AA 9 will not work for anything but the print function from WORD 2010. The only version of Acrobat that is compatible with OFFICE 2010 for PDF Maker is AA X. Thus, open WORD and print to the Adobe PDF printer. Then open the pdf in Acrobat. Go to FORMS>Add or Edit fields. Since you have no fields at present, Acrobat will ask if you would like to detect form fields. Answer yes and you will get a first cut at the form fields. Yes, you will likely have to add some more and change the ones that Acrobat estimates, but you are on your way.
The other two options you have is to go back to WORD 2007 or earlier or upgrade to AA X (or find someone with AA X and WORD 2010). These methods are pretty much your options with the software combination that you have.

Acrobat Quit Unexpectedly error message on MacBook Pro after purchasing and downloading. How do I get it to run??

I just purchased the Acrobat XI Pro Subscription online. After downloading the software and receiving the message that the installation was complete I tried to open the software to no avail. It starts to open with a "please wait while we launch Acrobat..." screen, then I get an error message "Acrobat Quit Unexpectedly" with options to Ignor, Report, or Reopen. I've sent the report, but no matter how many times I try the 'Reopen' or 'Ignore' options the software will not open. I'm running a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.7.5.
Any suggestions on how to get the software to work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

Please try the steps below and let me know if it worked for you.
Delete all the files from following folders:
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

"Acrobat XI Pro Trial has expired" Error Message

I subscribe to Creative Cloud and have Acrobat XI Pro, among other programs, on a monthly subscription.
Today I got an error message "Acrobat XI Trial has expired" when I tried to open a pdf document, and also when I tried to open the program through a shortcut on my desktop.
I was able to use Photoshop today.
What's going on with Acrobat XI Pro?

Open the CC App
If applicable, let CC aPP complete any automatic updates and log out of it.
Sign in with your Adobe ID.
Open the Acrobat CC application .
The prompt that you get for "trial has expired" also has an icon of "license this software" at the bottom left hand corner.
Please click on it & sign in, the trial be converted to subscription. Please try this & let us know if it worked for you.
