Error message after loading newest version of itunes

error message states
"Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied because you are not authorized to play them on this computer"
What does this mean? I purchased those items and now they will not load on my ipod. This only started happening after I downloaded the newest version of itunes today. I've restored my ipod 3 times today.
Please help

Try playing one of the problem tracks in iTunes. It should invite you to authorize the track. That should solve your problem.
There is general help on authorizing here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93014
If you have problems getting tracks you purchased authorized, is it possible that you have more than one account?
If you can't solve the problem, the following authgorization FAQ has an email form for contacting Apple:

  • Computer crash after downloading newest version of iTunes

I downloaded and installed the newest version of iTunes a couple of days ago and now the music is not showing up on my 30 gig ipod. I can tell the music is on there because the capacity on my ipod shows the same as before. Upon realizing this problem, I re-connected my ipod and re-started itunes. Itunes showed that my ipod was synking for a long time and It eventually locked up my computer. Now when I start it is is extremely slow (5 minutes to open up the control pannel)and basically locks up anytime I try to open a web page or uninstall itunes.
    Can you help?

Does anyone know of a support phone # I could call?

  • Error message while downloading new version of iTunes

I've tried downloading an updated version of iTunes several times, but I continue to get this error message:
An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736B3.
Any suggestions on what to do?

i'm assuming the Error code HRESULT: 0x800763b3 means something and is the solution but where can i find the answer or am i going about this all wrong?
Yeah, this 0x800763b3 is a slightly unusual one. Normally with these, the iTunes install error code matches the error codes that people get on their Windows Update failures. But for the last two 0x800763b3s I've been involved in on an iTunes install (Liv and someone else), the 0x800763b3 on the iTunes install has been associated with an 0x8007000b on the Windows Update failures. (Liv's 643s were pretty much "generic" error message codes for Windows Update failures, which could mean anything. So that's why I/we went after the 0x8007000b, which has some Microsoft documentation on fixes.)
Doublechecking on other symptoms of your situation ... is your Windows Update not opening at all when you try to launch it?
If so, when you click "Turn Windows features on or off" in the "Programs and Features Control Panel" item, is the Windows Features dialog box empty? (No features are shown?)
(If we can't get the codes from the windows update failures, we might be able to make some progress if we can identify other symptoms that you're getting. I know some documentation for some of these codes that mentions the Windows Features thing as a possible additional symptom.)

  • I can't open itunes - error message - created by earlier version of itunes

    Hi,
My sister used my itunes to set up her new ipod nano but now when I click on the itunes icon on my laptop I get an error message that says it can't open because it was created by an earlier version of itunes. I think she upgraded itunes when she registered her ipod. Any idea how I can now get itunes to open?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I'm getting  an error message after completing an update.  Help?

I'm getting  an error message that says "This version of iTunes has not been correctly localized for this language.  Please try running the English version." after completing an update.  Help?

Thanks for your help! I imported the table into Muse, then exported the site as html and opened it in Dreamweaver. I should've tried that in the first place but gave up when I couldn't edit it in Muse. I didn't know you could edit the html right in Muse. Also, my styling and the images I was using weren't showing up in Muse but once I opened it in Dreamweaver, everything fell into place. AND I could edit it! My client needs to edit this page every week, so I needed to be sure she could do that. She doesn't use Muse but does use Dreamweaver. At this point, I think I'll leave it alone and not try to style it with inline css. Maybe when I get a little more time, I'll try it. I just don't want to mess things up now that the're working.

  • Error message when downloading latest version

Any idea why I am getting error messages when updating the version of iTunes?

:-(  Same error message.  "Errors occured white installing the updates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools> Download Only and try installing manually."
That's odd. That's normally a message you get from Apple Software Update, not one that you get when you installer using an iTunes64Setup.exe downloaded from the Apple website.
Can you walk us through what happens when you download and run the installer from this link?

While trying to reinstall newest version of iTUNES 11  (on win7) after uninstalling itunes in hopes of resolving a sync issue with iPhone 4s.  It asks to verify that i have access to above file so i hit retry and it pops sqme message up instantly.  I hit cancel and it rolls back action and asks to finish install. I confirm and it tells me that Errors occurred during install before itunes could be configured.  Then it says system has not been moddified. to complete the installation run the installer again.  I have done this many times and get the same result..... Any suggestions for me?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Ok I cant find a way to fix this so I basically cant use my Verizon Iphone 4 because it wont connect on an old version...

OK.  You may have to reinstall everything from scratch but follow following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

    Hi pholewinski!
I have a couple of articles for you here that I believe will help you with this issue. The first is an article on advanced troubleshooting, and it can be found here:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3297
If following that article's steps doesn't take care of the issue, you can try the things listed in this article, which is about permissions issues in iTunes:
iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!
