Error message after syncing

I get the following windows error message after my 80G iPod syncs:
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive M:.
I don't have the box checked to enable disk use.
HP   Windows XP

I would take it back to the store that you purchased it at and get a refund. Or alternatively, if there is an Apple store near you, take it in there and see what they can do for you. How old is your iPod? If it's been less than a year or you purchased and extended warranty then it shouldn't cost you anything to get it fixed or looked at.

    in fact the file called Heatwave is copied to my iPhone and it does play on my phone, so why do I get this message ?
    Info
    Heatwave is an MP3 file

    What computer operating system?
    And, where is the music coming from, iTunes? If so, that is a known problem with Premiere Elements (just about any version).
    The answer has been to convert the iTunes music to the wav version in iTunes.

  • Apple TV Error Message After Syncing

    When I sync my Apple TV in iTunes, I get a small warning symbol next to my Apple TV's name in Devices section of iTunes. When I click on this symbol, I get an error message.
    The error message says the following - "Tip 24: Fill Shapes with Any Image" was not copied to the Apple TV because it could not be found.
    Now I have found out that Tip 24 was an Apple Quick Tip video podcast I downloaded well over a year ago. Once I watched it, it deleted itself automatically, like other podcasts do. In fact, since then, I am not even subscribed to this particular podcast because Apple has not made a new one for many months.
    Keeping in mind, I downloaded and watched many of these video podcasts before I unsubscribed to them, I have had no problem with them, except this Tip 24 episode.
    Some reference is clearly lurking in my system somewhere, so iTunes is trying to sync it to my Apple TV.
    HOW DO I FIND IT AND DELETE IT? I have searched everywhere!! I have tried Spotlight searches, but can find no trace of it!? PLEASE HELP, it is doing my head in now!! LOL
    Thank you.

    Ok, I'm not very technical with this sort of thing, so if you or anyone could give me some easy to follow advise on how to do this maintenance to get this reference to disappear, I would be really grateful!
    Thanks.

  • ITunes error messages while syncing after 0SX 10.6.6 update

    After installing the recent OSX 10.6.6 update, I am receiving the following error messages in iTunes when trying to sync both my iPhone 4 and my 1st generation Apple TV:
    iPhone error message:
    "The iPhone cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to."
    Apple TV error message:
    "iTunes cannot sync photos to the Apple TV because of a problem on your computer. The disk could not be read from or written to."
    I'm not sure if this matters - but in the iPhone error message - it does not state if the "disk" is the iPhone or the computer - but in the Apple TV error message it does make this distinction, saying that the problem is on my computer and specifically mentions photos.
    Now, once I dismiss either of the error messages, the sync progresses normally and completes successfully. Also, I have checked my computer (MacPro) and all diagnostics (including the internal hard drives) pass with flying colors. And the computer is working fine otherwise - so I have no reason to believe that there is a hardware problem with the computer. And I would find it very strange that I would have a hardware problem with both my iPhone and Apple TV appearing at the exact same time. And finally, both the iPhone and Apple TV are performing normally when in use.
    Since this problem did not start until after running the 10.6.6 update - logic tells me that is where the problem probably lies.... the question is how to resolve it - anyone have any ideas?

    Both those symptoms are consistent with a damaged photo cache. If you remove your existing photo cache as per the instructions in the following document, does that get you past the error?

  • I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."

    I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."
    I wiped it out and restored from backup but I am still getting the same message.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that fixed it. Here are the specific instructions that I was given.
    ~~~
    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
    it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
    I have never been able to upgrade my phone I always get an error message after it goes 2 hours on the computer someone told me I could do it wifi but I don't know where to go to start the download
    Make sure you have the right system requirements before you start to update the iOS, you will need:
    Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access
    Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
    Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
    PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
  • Error message when syncing mail accounts...
    I recently started getting this error message while syncing on Windows XP running Outlook 2007.....
    iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone "Nick DeGiovine's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers.
    Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated...!
    Mackinator,
    All of the email addresses are with servers that have presets on the iPhone, and it appears the interaction between what you are syncing, and those presets is where you are having the error.
    You may want to consider using some of those presets. For example bellsouth.net's email is now hosted by Yahoo. You can enter the settings for it in a few steps. When adding the account to the iPhone, choose the "Yahoo" presets. Put in the username as your entire @bellsouth.net email address. There will be @yahoo.com visible, but won't affect the functionality of the account, and people you send to won't see the @yahoo.com after your address. The Bellsouth account will now work, and should also get push notifications for your Bellsouth email via Yahoo.
    For your GMail account, choosing GMail will configure the outgoing server to work on most networks. The exception is networks that block the majority of ports, such as some work environments.
    This article contains more information on mail settings including the information about @bellsouth.net and Yahoo.
    Hope this helps,
