Error message appears and disappears before I can read it?

I have a message that pops up and disappears before I can get a chance to read it. I figured it may be an issue with an application since MS office 11 is installed and was running at the times also, before a reminder pops up a message appears. I fear there may be a potential issue with the OS or an application.
Any advice on what I should do?

I've got the same problem... What did it turn out to be?
And how to find the "log? I've checked the Activity Monitor, but that's real-time and changes too quickly to check...

  • Dialog box appears and disappears before I can read it... what is it?

I've been noticing a dialog box that appears and disappears in a fraction of a second, just enough to annoy me. It happens at random times, and have noticed it while working in various applications. I've checked Console and determined that this is the culprit. What is this!?

Flashback - Detect and remove the uprising Mac OS X Trojan...
    http://www.mac-and-i.net/2012/04/flashback-detect-and-remove-uprising.html
In order to avoid detection, the installer will first look for the presence of some antivirus tools and other utilities that might be present on a power user's system, which according to F-Secure include the following:
    /Library/Little Snitch
    /Developer/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
    /Applications/VirusBarrier X6.app
    /Applications/iAntiVirus/iAntiVirus.app
    /Applications/avast!.app
    /Applications/ClamXav.app
    /Applications/HTTPScoop.app
    /Applications/Packet Peeper.app
If these tools are found, then the malware deletes itself in an attempt to prevent detection by those who have the means and capability to do so. Many malware programs use this behavior, as was seen in others such as the Tsunami malware bot.

  • Error Message Appears and Disappears

For the past few weeks I've been getting an error that pops up and disappears before I can see what it is.  It happens several times a day and is quite annoying. When I went into the console after it's latest apperance I took a screen shot.  I believe the error is the 9:20:54 pm error "8/2/12 9:20:54.829 PM Dock[153]: no information back from LS about running process."  Any advice on what this is and how I can stop it from reoccuring?

From the information you've provided, I can only guess, but others who reported a similar problem solved it in the way I suggested. Consider it a test.
The firewall serves no purpose when you're on a network where you want to provide services. If you never want to provide the services, disable them. If you want to provide them only on certain networks, turn the firewall on when you're not on one of those networks.

  • Bought Lion online, downloaded, when finished an error message appeared and 3,7GB vanished... Anyone with a similar experience???

Bought Lion online, downloaded, when finished an error message appeared and 3,7GB vanished... Anyone with a similar experience???

All I know is that once it is installed it is erased, the Lion Installer is erased from the applications folder.
You won't have to pay for it again if you have to download again. Remember to move it out of the applications folder, then you can trash it when you are ready or even burn a startup DVD.
My knowledge comes from two e-books you can get here

  • TS4002 Having upgraded to 10.8 some emails are disappearing before I can read them.

Having upgraded to 10.8 some emails are disappearing before I can read them.
They are present for about a second, display as notified, but are not going to junk or Trash.
The problem doesn't affect all emails and seems to be restricted to some senders.

What ype of account is this (IMAP / POP)?
Perhaps it's setup on another system (computer, mobile, etc.) and downloading there, while removing from the server. You may also have email rules moving it automatically or marking as SPAM.
Changing your password may seem drastic but will ensure your current setup is the only one with access to downloading/archival of the email, and you can then eliminate other possibilities as mentioned above.

  • Ask your question.please help itunes will not launch on my computer the icon on desktop has changed to a white folder no error message appears and it appears but then disappears in task manager when the programme will not open quick time is working

please help i need to fix my itunes it will not launch on my computer . no error message appears it simply will not run. the icon on desktop has changed to a white folder and it still appears in programmes in start menu but will not open. it appears in task manager but disappears when the programme will not open

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If  there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

  • ITunes won't open if it has already been closed in the same session. No error message appears and I have already unistalled/reinstalled iTunes with no result.

My iTunes opens fine if it is the first time I have opened it since turning my computer on. If I close iTunes, however, it won't open again unless I restart my computer. No error message appears. Clicking on both the shortcut and file in iTunes folder does nothing. I unistalled iTunes and reinstalled it but the issue hasn't gone away. A virus scan has come up with nothing. I would appreciate any ideas that might help to fix this issue.

Having the same problem - am running Win 7 Pro 32 bit. Discovered that when you close iTunes task manager shows that iTunes.exe is still running and will not close unless you reboot. I have also found that after starting Win 7 that if I launch iTunes by inserting a CD, the CD plays and displays all tracks correctly. However, if I eject the CD and insert a different one neither Win 7 or iTunes recognises the CD. These problems seem to have started with the release of 10.5.2 - prior to that no problems at all. Have tried reinstalling and it does not make any difference.

  • HT201263 iPod is in recovery mode but when I go to restore it, an error message appears and the restore fails. What should I do to fix it? (iPod Touch 5th gen)

The iPod cannot restore, when I try and resore it, an error message appears. It is already in recovery mode. What shoud I do to get it to restore?

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, and 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Safari crashing and crashing mac, gives message which disappears before I can read.

Out of the blue, my Safari started essentially giving me the 'NO CAN DO' honking noise for no reason. Nothing detectible. So I'd restart, and again, a few minutes into browsing - STOP. Then I noticed a message ERROR MESSAGE??? was coming up and disappearing as quickly. Force quit would be the only answer. Also crashed the entire computer a few times... Firefox works fine. Oddly, I don't get any error report on restarting. My virus scans find nothing. Can't figure how to uninstall/reinstall or how to find the dialog messages it's giving.

  • Want to print an email from Yahoo, "Prop Res DLL not loaded"error message appears and can't print?

When printing an email & selecting printer properties window to change printing color, error message is displayed. "Prop Res DLL not loaded." Never had this problem until 4 months ago. Lexmark tells me it is a Firefox problem, not a printer problem.
Seemed to occur after a Firefox update?

See this [http://www.google.com/search?q=Prop+Res+Dll+not+loaded&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Google search] for a "fix".
Here's a Firefox bug that was filed a few months ago. <br />
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649128 <br />
Looks like a problem caused by Lexmark print drivers doing a strange installation (Lexmark makes some of the Dell branded printers). Mozilla isn't going to revert the way Firefox looks for print drivers due to security concerns.

  • Mac Help appears and disappers before I can locate it

    hello,
Each time I click mac help under finder the help window appears and before I can do anything it disappears. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Also, Is there a way to customize the icons that are located on the dock?
    thanks,
    kate

    Hi Again Kate!
To customize the Dock icons, I think you would have to change the icon of the application, Utility, or Folder, that the Dock alias points to.
Mac OS X: How to Use Custom Icons
Once you have done that, pull the old icon off of the Dock, if it hasn't changed, and reinsert the new custom one.

  • I am using iCloud email and my emails are randomly disappearing before I can read them. They are not in any folders on my iPhone and I am having to call apple to have the last 7 days of email sent to me in order to retrieve what is being lost.

I am using an apple email account and my emails are randomly disappearing before I get a chance to read them. They are not anywhere on my device, not trash, junk etc. The only solution from apple has been to resend me the past 7 days of email in order for me to retrieve the missing emails. This has taken me hours on the phone with apple support with no solution. I just don't know what to do. They have gone over the settings with me and nothing has solved the problem. I don't know where to start since it is happening on all my devices.

Control-click on the background of the view all pages window and select "Preview Calendar" from the contextual menu.
You can also save the pdf as a file to compare to the printed calendar.  If the two names are visible in the pdf file then the printed copy should show them.  Contact Apple for a refund.  Apple Print Products - Apple Store (U.S.)

  • After clicking "close" X, a message appears then disappears too quickly to read. It begins "Firefox will close now..." The word "security" appears in the next line. What is the rest of this message and should I be concerned about "security"?

    none further

The full message that was almost impossible for me to read was: “'''Firefox will close now. Please standby while BetterPrivacy checks your hard disk for LSO cookies…'''”
To see if your message is the same or different:
    1. Open Firefox
    2. Press and hold the Shift key with your left hand
    3. Close Firefox
    4. Then, as soon as the message appears, press the Print Screen key with your right hand
    5. Open the Microsoft Paint program, go to the Edit Menu and press Paste
    6. A box with the full message should appear. If not, continue to open and close Firefox and hit Shift/Print Screen until you time it just right and the message will appear when you paste it into Paint
There would not appear to be any security concerns with the message posted above
There may be security concerns if your message is different.
