Error message at bootup

got arch 0.7 and while booting after the hotplug daemon starts i get an error message like
error loading modul snd-wavefront
missing kernel or user moduel
error loading modul snd-c34342
missing kernel or user moduel
my sounds works fine (via chipset) but this error message is annyoing
any ideas how i could turn it off?

hotplug isn't perfect and sometimes trys to load modules no one needs - maybe they're for modem sound... or something else... who knows
If it's not an issue, it's best to blacklist it until you know you need it

  • Satellite 5105-S702 Touch ED error message during bootup process

When I bootup my Satellite 5105-S702 laptop with the Computer Associates (CA) Anti-Virus software v8.4.0.24 turned ON, I receive the following error message near the end of the bootup process:
    TouchED Error
    Retrieval of THotkey" failed
    Occurred Part - TouchED.exe - THotkeyFindProc( )
    Failed Function - FindWindow( )
    Error Code - 0x00031402, 0x00000002
However, when I turn OFF the CA Anti-Virus software and reboot the laptop, I do not get the error message.
Therefore it would appear that the CA AntiVirus software is causing this error message.
Would appreciate if anyone could advise if they have experienced this problem with this model laptop, or the Satellite 5105-S701, or the equivalent European model 5100-603, and how they rectified it.
    Thank you
    AlanCB

    Hi
    I agree with you.
In my opinion the installed (CA) Anti-Virus software is not fully compatible with the Toshiba Hotkey Utility or the Anti-Virus software doesnt recognize it correctly and cannot handle it.
CA Anti-Virus software is not known to me but maybe you could set some setting to ignore the Toshiba Hotkey Utility.
Maybe it helps if not I would recommend contacting the Computer Associates support team.

  • Weird error message on bootup - T400, Win7-64

    Hello,
On bootup, after I can see my desktop, I get a "DOS looking" window that shows up momentarilyin "overlay" mode  that says
    "Lenovo service trigger v0.1.
    Event registered successfully
    Start event successfully raised
    Unregister rrservice provider successfully!"
After quite a number of these on bootup, a compete diagnostics run apparently started up spontaneously and everything apparently checked out okay.  I do not know if the two are related.
When I Googled "Lenovo service trigger" I got 2 hits, one in German and one in Chinese, so they were no help because I can read neither.
No other obvious problems associated with this; it is just annoying.
Anyone know what might be going on here?
    Thanks!
    Solved!

    Hi,
please apologize. It's a bad habit to call every TVT (ThinkVantage Technology) with the shortcuts.
Yes, you are right, RnR means Rescue and recovery.
    In you situation do following:
    - go to registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products
    - press CTRL+F and start the search for
    Rescue
    - this will search the registry for the installation informations on Rescue and recovery. Once you will find the correct key,(you will detect it then, when on the left side will be the display name "Rescue and Recovery")
    - on the same page you will see the key called "UninstallString"
    - copy the value of this key. In case there is an "/X" or similar, then remove it , because this means uninstall and execute the command( go to Start->Run and paste here the command)
This should start the Rescue and Recovery Installer and you should see there the options to reinstall this application.
I would not advice to do an upgrade directly. Firest try to reinstall Rescue and Recovery, and if that one does not work, then try the upgrade to the latest version of Rescue and Recovery.
    Let me know, any update.
    Cheers

  • GET MULTIPLE ERROR MESSAGES UPON BOOKUP

MY COMPUTER IS "IDEACENTRE B SERIES ALL-IN-ONE B305" RUNNING WIN 7 HOME PREMERE.
All of a sudden, after a Windows 7 automatic update or running CCLEANER (I am not sure which) the computer produces multiple error messages upon bootup. The message is basically the same but each (about 17 of them) are associaged with a program the computer is trying to load. i.e. goodledrivesync.exe, skype.exe, clistart.exe, etc. etc.
An example of the message is:
    Skype.exe Bad Image
    C:\Search Protect\Search Protect\bin\VC32loader.dll
It then goes on the say the program is likely not designed to operate with Win 7 or the Image is corrupted.
First, I can't determine if the problem is a Windows 7 problem or a Lenovo software problem.
I have tried Windows update, I have tried Lenovo updating drivers etc. and as a last resort I did a restore but none of that helps.
I need some specific ideas. What have you?
    Thanks Pat

Neither product are Apple products, I'd suggest contacting the manufacturers of each product. Apple products normally do not need driver's downloaded like a Windows machine. You should see if the version of their products on your machine is the most-up-to-date for your configuration. If it is then the driver updates are not necessary however if they are not then you need to update the version of their software because any drivers will be incorporated in the latest version.

  • Bootup error message with Reader 11.0

Since updating to Reader 11.0, I keep getting a message on bootup that my computer cannot find C:\Program Files (X86)\ADOBE 10.0\READER\READER_SL.EXE. Of course not, Reader 11.0 uninstalled 10.0. How can I get rid of this error message?

    Very strange...
Try another approach: use the Acrobat Cleaner Tool to remove all installed Reader versions, then install AR XI again.  Note that this tool will also remove Acrobat if you have it installed.

  • Error message when installing non-factory Hard Drive on a (Presario V6700)

Hi all. I have a Presario V6700. Unit originally began shutting itself down & rebooting to the start up screen & going no further then after a few time of that, ultimately freezing during bootup process. Everthing still running, blue lights still on but no boot up. So I ordered the restore discs thinking that my HD was corrupted. Booted up from Restore discs in hopes of restoring the HD but the restore process froze then ultimately displayed blue screen telling me that unit has been shut down due to a problem.
So I installed a new HD (not factory) & tried to restore using the new HD. Booted from the restore discs again but this time received an error message stating " error 0x400110020000 100A If this issue continues, please contact HP Support" so guys...here I am. Any help is greatly greatly appreciated!!!

  • Error message when opening Network panel

On bootup, my iMac 800mHz (gooseneck) 17" flat panel (OS 10.4.11) is not automatically logging into my home AE network. So, I go to System Preferences and open the Network panel. Immediately, a drop-down error window appears saying "Your network settings have been changed by another application." I click the blue "OK" button on that error window, but it WON'T GO AWAY. I must Force Quit System Prefs in order to regain use of this machine.
I can and do go to the Airport icon in the Menu Bar and select our network, and I am on the network. I can also select "Open Internet Connect" from this same Menu Bar icon, and it does not give me an error message.
Using Disk Utility, I have verified and repaired permissions. I also zapped the PRAM on restart. The problem persists.
After connecting online, this iMac seems to run nominally. However, the persistent error message in the Network panel is not a good sign.
Suggestions? Are there some Library preferences I should remove, etc?

To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.

  • Error Message after updating Windows XP on the Microsoft Update site

I have just taken delivery of a Satellite Pro A120 and updated the windows XP components on the Microsoft Update site, when the system rebooted to make the changes it developed an error message during the final stages of the bootup relating to the Realtek user.dll.
Basically it said that the user32.dll had been written to memory because the location it was stored in was reserved for windows components. The file in question being c:windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx, this caused some components of the sound system to not work.
It advises me to comtact realtek for a new dll? The latest drive on the Toshiba download site is older than the one installed. Any suggestion please.
    Thanks

Please download the patch XP KB 935448 from the Microsoft support site.

  • Pavilion ze4900 shuts down in minutes, no error messages

I have a Pavilion ze4900 and it will only stay on for a few minutes and then quickly shuts down.  I have disassembled the laptop & powered the unit back on to watch the cooling fan. There is only one fan with heat sink for processor.  There is not any dirt on the fan & the inside is clean.  I never see the fan run but then again it doesn't have a chance to get warm.  I am thinking about changing the fan but not sure if that is really the problem. There has been no change to the bios since it was purchased. A computer store said it wasn't worth fixing but I am attempting to do it myself so what would cause this quick shutdown?  The system will bootup & I can login as normal.  I have at times been able to view files before it shuts down.  There are no error message on the screen when it turns off.

I don't think the processor would get hot enough to need the fan in just 2 minutes. The cooling fan and heat sink don't have any build up of dust. I did completely remove the cooling fan and heat sink which is one unit. I didn't see any heat sink compound between the processor and heat sink but, again, I don't think the shutdown is heat related. If the laptop was hopped up so it runs at above design speed then the processor could get hot very quickly but this is all factory without any modifications. It is a Celeron M processor which is pretty bottom of the line.  Maybe the processor is bad or something on the system board is bad.  I can't really test the processor or system board because it shuts down to quickly.  I don't want to pay money to send it to a repair shop because they are going to want $200 or $300 ++ because of labor to disassemble this thing.  It took me 3 hours to take out a big pile of screws which I can only hope that I can get it back together if I manage to find the  defective component.  I am running the PC with the case off and an external fan pointing directly at the processor and system board so the cooling fan is probably not needed because of the airflow I am providing.
