On a new pdf when i try to search for words it prompts me to download new adobe. i have adobe 8 and when i download off the site it gets to 96% then an error message appears to close adobe 8 whihc is not open. this happens every time, How do i download or is there an update in my existing adobe 8? If so how do i start it? thanks

It is. Task Manager --> Processes tab --> acrotray.exe. Terminate the process.

You're two versions out of date. You did get that warning and upgrade requirement for a reason in teh first place....

You can perform steps from beginning one more time.
1 )Open Control Panel and Navigate to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features .
Under Program and Features list , locate Adobe Creative Cloud and uninstall the same.
2) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and delete folders named Adobe Application Manager and OOBE.
3) Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and if present delete Adobe Creative Cloud folder.
4) Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.
Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

Important : Disable AntiVirus and Firewall temporarily.

OFFICE 365 is a cloud version of OFFICE 2013. Full compatibility with Acrobat requires an updated Acrobat XI. You will likely have to store the file and then open in AA 9. To create a PDF you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the MS plugin that has several issues.

Error message downloading a podcast

I'm having a problem downloading a podcast, using IE 6.0, Windows 2000 and the latest version of iTunes. I don't have any probs. d/l'ing other podcasts but on one particular file, I get an error message saying the file is corrupted or in a format it can't understand. I've tried deleting the podcast and d/l'ing again but no luck. Other people are able to download this same podcast just fine so I know it's not the file. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i tried going to the website and it tells me tha the media is not available. then i tried going the the main website (http://release.theplatform.com/) and it asks me to login with a user name and password. so, if you are trying to download the podcast from this link it is probably not available anymore.

Problem:
The installer throws error messages. I tried on three different
XP-Home (sp2) machines in our lab. It throws error message the very first or second time and after that, it seems to work fine.
Steps to reproduce:
1) On XP-Home(sp2) machine, try to download and install the JDK iftw bundle from

2) During the installation the first or second time, one of the following messages thrown:
A) "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and than you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package"

I am getting the same error when opening the J2se Development Kit 5.0 Update 8 after I press the Run button. ( "This installation package could not be opened. Error message downloading iTunes 8 to XP

Recently I got an iPod touch and needed to update my iTunes on my computer so it would be compatible with my iPod. When I tried to update my iTunes to the latest version however, an error message popped up halfway through the installation that said: “Could not write value Content Type key /software/classes/.aif. Verify that you have efficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.”
Is there anyone who can tell me how to fix this or what the message even means?

lareachme has the right idea. If you are running any kind of internet security suite or commercial antivirus programs, you are better off disabling your virus protection and firewall when downloading updates from Apple.

That is often down to incorrect time, timezone or daylight savings settings on the computer running ADE.
If that doesn't help: ADE2.0 will not handle library books when used in conjuction with some eReaders (including but not only Sony PRS-350).
Try replacing with the less buggy older version.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

Error message downloading from digital camera

iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image.
I need help getting past this error message. My camera and laptop have been compatable
until now. I have recently removed all videos from the laptop and put them on an external
hard drive..... HELP!

The point in trying to download to another machine is that it would help us exclude some possibilities.

A problem with
iPhoto.app
The iPhoto Library
Image Capture
A Faulty USB Port
A faulty Cable
A Faulty port in the Camera
A faulty Card in the Camera
A faulty file on the Card.
So, let's try exclude from the other side:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Can you import this new, blank Library?

Error Message - Downloading Video's

So, I just put the new 5th gen 30gig I-pod.
I purchased two video's from Itunes. My purchase went through fine, but when I go to download them I get a error message saying:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to."
It then tells me to check the purchased music command in the advanced menu but the same thing happens again.
Please help.

I received a message "The disk could not be read from or written to" while just synching a few times. I disconnected the iPod, restarted iTunes, and then it worked fine again.
However, I never did purchase or download movies from iTunes.

After dowloading the CS5 Design Premium, I get an error messagin stating "A problem occurred while extracting the archive. Please try downloading the Adobe CS5 Design Premium again." I repeated this process multiple times to no avail. I am trying to download the CS5 design premium on my new laptop, but don't have the software cds to do this. Thus, I can only download the software but after i download the two files required, that error message appears. (I already have my serial number).

Please try disabling your Antivirus as sometimes it detects the files as virus and removes them while downloading. You can also try downloading after performing Selective Startup.
