Error message downloading a podcast

I'm having a problem downloading a podcast, using IE 6.0, Windows 2000 and the latest version of iTunes. I don't have any probs. d/l'ing other podcasts but on one particular file, I get an error message saying the file is corrupted or in a format it can't understand. I've tried deleting the podcast and d/l'ing again but no luck. Other people are able to download this same podcast just fine so I know it's not the file. Any suggestions? Thanks!

i tried going to the website and it tells me tha the media is not available. then i tried going the the main website (http://release.theplatform.com/) and it asks me to login with a user name and password. so, if you are trying to download the podcast from this link it is probably not available anymore.

    Hello, ted_marx38.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID.  When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID.  If this is the case, the computer will need to be authorized for this Apple ID.  The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

Just installed Outlook 365. Now getting an error message downloading pdf's from outlook re: licensing on my acrobat 9 standard. 148:3

OFFICE 365 is a cloud version of OFFICE 2013. Full compatibility with Acrobat requires an updated Acrobat XI. You will likely have to store the file and then open in AA 9. To create a PDF you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the MS plugin that has several issues.

  • TS2313 error message downloading podcasts in itunes

Whenever I try to download podcast episodes from iTunes I get an error message that reads: "There was a problem downloading <podcast>.  The file directory is corrupted or unreadable."  I don't understand this, because it happens with all of my podcasts.  It says check the URL connection, but the internet is fine and iTunes is working just fine.  I have previously downloaded these podcasts before without problems.  I unsubscribed and deleted all of the podcasts' content and then resubscribed, but it did not help.  What do I do?

I am marking this as answered as no-one seems to be interested. I guess I just have to be careful to run iTunes at least once a week to get all the episodes on my podcast list.

  • Error message when submitting podcast

I have been trying to submit a new podcast to the directory in itunes.
I tested the feed by subscribing to my podcast using the advanced menu as suggested in the FAQ on submitting a video podcast. The test was successful and I downloaded the most recent podcast and played it in itunes. The list of previous podcasts was also available in itunes.
When I used the same url to submit it to the itunes directory an error message came back.
"We require that feeds include a title"
Is there anyone who can tell me what is wrong.
This is the url that tested out successfully.

The image is still 600 x 600 - http://i1.sndcdn.com/avatars-000122042307-vnef41-original.jpg - it looks as if SoundCloud is 'helpfully' reducing the size to what used to apply several years ago. I don't know what you can do about this.
There are several ways of looking at the coding for your feed. The simplest is to control-click on its URL
    http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:118687921/sounds.rss
and choose 'Download' or 'Save linked file' or similar to download it. Then drag it onto the TextEdit icon to open it. Alternatively nominate a browser as your RSS reader - FireFox is good: Safari almost as good - in FireFox his command-u; in Safari you can access the source code from menus which differer with the version.

  • Error (-39) downloading video podcast, iTunes 7.2.0.34

I am running iTunes 7.2.0.34 on Vista x86. I can successfully download podcasts, and even some free video movies from the iTunes store.
However, I tried downloading the "Steve Jobs and Bill Gates at D5 Conference" podcasts. The audio one came over fine, and the video version downloaded for an hour or so. later I came back to the machine to find that the video version has an exclamation point next to it in my Podcast library. The error says:
"There was a problem downloading "Steve Jobs and Bill Gates at D5 Conference (Video)". An unknown error occured (-39). Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again"
If I go back and try to "get episode" from the iTunes store, I see the video go into my download queue, but then it immediately dissappears from the queue. The error remains in my podcast library. I even tried deleting both podcast listings from my podcast library and starting again from scratch (including having it move to recycle bin), but same result. Again, the audio file was downloaded no problem, but the video file disappears from the queue immediately.
    Anyone else having this problem?

it's a reasonably rare error, but i've seen some folks have success with the -39 in this context using K Chapman's technique from the following post:

  • ITunes spontaneously closes - no error message (related to podcast)

When using podcast>>settings>>check for new episodes>>"anything but manually"
Then, when podcasts start to update, iTunes spontaneously closes and there are no error messages.
I have temporarily set check for new episodes to "manually." So far this is working.
But I was curious whether this problem has been identified or solved?

  • Error message downloading j2se 1.5.0 on windows XP home edition (SP2)

    Hello:
I am getting the following error message attempting to install the j2se 5.0 on my windows XP home edition (SP2):
    "Error JavaTM installer
The installer cannot continue because the files necessary for installation are unavailable. If trying to install a beta or older version please check http://java.sun.com/j2se to determine if it is still supported. If so please try installing at a later time as these file might be only temporarily unavailable."
    There is a bug report:
    Bug ID: 6237992
Tested Bundle: 5.0u2_b09 JDK iftw on staging site
    http://webwork.sfbay/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
    Tested O/S: XP-Home (sp2)
    Problem:
The installer throws error messages. I tried on three different
XP-Home (sp2) machines in our lab. It throws error message the very first or second time and after that, it seems to work fine.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1) On XP-Home(sp2) machine, try to download and install the JDK iftw bundle from
    http://webwork.sfbay/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
    2) During the installation the first or second time, one of the following messages thrown:
    A) "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and than you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package"
    B) Error - Java Installer
"This installer cannot continue because the files necessary for installation are unavailable. If trying to install a beta or older version, please check http://java.sun.com/j2se to determine if it is still supported. If so, please try installing at a later time, as these files might be only temporary unavailable"
This problem seems to occur on XP-Home(sp2). When error message pops up, keep trying it, it 's eventually OK. It may confuse consumers at the first two times.
    xxxxx@xxxxx 2005-03-09 05:11:47 GMT"
I have tried the downloading five times to no avail, both by double clicking, and using the windows run utility. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I am getting the same error when opening the J2se Development Kit 5.0 Update 8 after I press the Run button. ( "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and than you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package").
    Is there a solution ?

  • Error message downloading iTunes 8 to XP

Recently I got an iPod touch and needed to update my iTunes on my computer so it would be compatible with my iPod. When I tried to update my iTunes to the latest version however, an error message popped up halfway through the installation that said: “Could not write value Content Type key /software/classes/.aif. Verify that you have efficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.”
Is there anyone who can tell me how to fix this or what the message even means?
    Thanks,
    Cyskull17

    Cyskull,
lareachme has the right idea. If you are running any kind of internet security suite or commercial antivirus programs, you are better off disabling your virus protection and firewall when downloading updates from Apple.
