Power Management ProblemsI got this message after patching my Solaris8 install to "Generic_108528-10" and rebooting. I have the /etc/rc2.d/S85power rc script commented out to disable power management. However, it appears that DPMS is being set by my openwindows environment. To turn off DPMS issue the following command after starting x-windows:
xset -dpms
You can check all your settings by issuing the command:
xset q
If you run "xset q" before and after running "xset -dpms" you should see the change take effect. You should no longer get the error message. Keep in mind you also won't be in energy star mode either.
Prior to the patch just doing "xset s noblank" was all I needed to do.

    That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
    I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

    If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

    I only get this message from one device when connecting to the WLAN.
    This happens only from time to time. Sometimes it connects without any problem.

    This is an error when the STA (the computer) constructs the packet. 2/4 is indicate of the handshake process where it sends a nonce-value with its own MIC. A MIC is a message integrity check (or code).
    Basically, this error is saying, whatever that computer is sending is invalid. You can try to make the AP behave differently such as force the use of AES instead of AES+TKIP depending on what product you have. Pretty much removing "mixed" wireless networking. As example, try using WPA2 (AES) only.
    Such errors are more common using TKIP since it is the nature of TKIP to send a per-packet-key.

    if you are using a key and download form same area of the license ports you may just have a corrupt down load you can try to download again, or if you burnt the disk try buring a new copy at a slower speed. otherwise you should call your Microsoft licensing
    professional to make sure the order went through as expected and you are downloading the proper image.
    I don't think you can buy a 2008 r2 license anymore so I also assume you purchased 2012 r2 licensing and are you using a 2008 r2 key? the 2012 r2 key will not work with downgraded OS you need to get the key that matches the os from the licensing portal.

    I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 (English North Americas) and have the same problem.
    #1 the default location is in some Local / User folder and I too made it the Application folder. Now Adobe Download Manage will only download to Applications folder. The first time the installer failed I logged out, but the installer .dmb was erased. Second download I copied to the Desktop, and deledted the orgional in the Applications folder. BOTH .dmg had checksum errors. BOTH failed on install. Restart of systm changes nothing
    I'm on Cable and am able to download 20G files without issue. (I work with 1080i/p movies all the time). MacOS 10.7.4 MacBook Pro 2.2 i7, 4GB, 200GB free space
    As someone who has used Adobe products since before Photoshop v.1 was released, this would be far from the first bad Adobe installer!

    I am trying to send an email from Lookout V6.6 using the Mailer object.  I have an email address setup through GMAIL and have verified it works.  Also, Lookout Mailer object is able to verify GMAIL server.  I get the following error message when trying to send the email: "SMTP: invalid from address. SMTP error 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. d5sm35857280yhl.19".  Anyone know what is causing this?

    Another method is to use a SMTP relayer, we have deployed them in the past.

  • Error message: an invalid join type has been encountered

    Hi,
    I've created a report that works fine for me, using CR version 11.0.0.1282.
    The report is intended to be posted on our intranet, using Crystal Enterprise. But our web team tried it and said:
    The report returned "Failed to open rowset" errors on enterprise. When run with Crystal Reports 10, the report returned a Crystal error "Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report.  An invalid join type has been encountered."
    Does anyone know what triggers the "failed to open rowset" error message in Crystal Enterprise?
    And for the second part (where the report states that an invalid join type was encountered, when running the report in CR10), that doesn't seem to make sense. As I said, the report works fine in CR11, indicating to me that the joins are fine. And if a join type is incorrect, why wouldn't I get an error message in the Database Expert when linking files. (Usually it won't let you link incompatible fields.)
    Any ideas?

  • Content Encoding Error Message re invalid or unsupported form of compression

    After installing the last update, when I would attempt to go to various websites, even google, I would get this message on some sites not all. I did not get on IE or chrome.
    "Content Encoding Error
    The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.'
    This is what I did.
    Open Firefox
    1) in the address bar, type: about config 2) promise to be careful 3) type in the filter bar: encoding 4) double click on the value column of network.http.accept-encoding 5) change the 'string value' from "gzip, deflate" to "true" (I had to type that in.) I found that on another string that was closed that the moderator said not to do it or it could mess things up.
    I do not know if issue was caused by last update as add or remove programs in control panel does not show Mozilla updates so I could not uninstall last udate. Only other thing I had done was reinstall Real Player Plus with Real downloader and Speed-bit accelerator as I was having trouble downloading flash videos from web pages mainly from Firefox. (Chrome in its wisdom playing god disabled the addon without even asking me so I could not use Chrome for downloads-they said something about not knowing publisher or certificate--"Real Networks"!!! maybe Google-Chrome does not want users of "You Tube which I think it owns to be able to download offf it with competitor or sort of competitor's applications.) I do not know that the Rel Player re-installation had anything to do with the Firefox error message-just contemporaneous in time as was the Firefox update that I only knew about as Firefox let me know I had to restart to finish installation of update.
    After ten minutes after making changes re config it seems to be operating OK

    After leaving my computer on all night with Chrome and Firefox both open but doing no downloading, etc., I noticed that Wincows Task Manager icon was all green showing 100% CPU usage. I opened Internet Explorer 8 which had been off all night. I looked at Windows Task Manager "processes". It shows firefox.exe with cpu at 86 to 95, iexplore.exe two instances, both at at 00-02, and chrome.exe (2 instances) both at 00. Realpaly.exe also left on all night after burning multiple Cds 6 hours earlier was also at zero. Nothing named speed bit had an active process, but videoacellerator.exe and VideoacceleratorService.exe both of which I allowed to stay in a startup folder were both at 00. Firefox is not downloading videos etc. It has two windows open, one at eBay and one support.mozilla on this issue(content encoding error). This all started occcurring after the latest Firefox update that necessitated the restarting of my computer. I have th two Firefox extensions that like T=Real Downloader allow downloads of flash videos on web pages and neither one was active Flash and Video Download, and Flash Video Downloader the former had been active for several continuous days downloading multiple video clips but had been turned off before I went to bed. After an hour typing this things are still the same with Firefox the CPU hog , still at 84-97, chrome.exe and iexplore.exe still both under 05. For some reason with the recent update tht required restarting the computer Firefox has become a CPU hog and is not working properly withprograms (Windows downloader and Speedbit) and has the content encoding error message issue as wll as sometimes IE not able to go to some pages. My CPU icon in taskbar is teill all green, and can't close firefox without a lot of hassle as that is what I am typing this on.., but I bet that when I do total CPU usage goes to 20 or so and system idle process is the only process with numbers over 80 for CPU.
    Has anyone told a webpage manager that there is an encryption problem with their webpage (such as Google or Amazon) as the error message instructs us to do?

    Hi all
    I am developing a SSIS package to add data from thousands of XML files to an existing SQL Server table. 
    And I get the error message:
    The XML Source was unable to process the XML data. “”hexadecimal value 0x01 , is an invalid character.
    I know that these XML files are not well-formed (and hence not really an XML file).
    So, How to use the SSIS package to solve this problem without using the other editor?

  • FCPX 10.1 Error message: Argument invalid

    When I launched FCPX with new upgrade this morning, my external hard drive with most every fcp project and event was on line. I was asked from launch to upgrade projects and events. I said ok. From then on, all I get is an error message, saying argument invalid. I click ok, and go into fcp anyway-- and initially none of the projects from my external (g-raid) drive would open. I took my hard drive to another computer that doesn't have the FCP X upgrade, and FCP could read none of the project or event files! It looks as if my work is lost. Because all my projects have been reformated to only be read by 10.1.
    After 7 hours (no exaggeration), talking to four different Apple 'genius', I got no answer as to why this is happening. As the day progressed, all but two of the projects can now be opened and played. Unfortunately, the one I need the most does not. It looks as if the reason may be one of the referenced events ( a voice track) is no longer on my computer. i would like to go into the project, and delete that voice track, and see if that will allow my project to play. Unfortunately, can't open up the file. All I get when I try to open it, is the candy cane, trying to log in graphic. Until FCP finally gives up and quits.
    Any suggestions? Apple tech guy's only suggestion is to get the back up copy of the project (thank God I have one), and work on it on my imac WITHOUT THE 10.1 UPGRADE!  That's pretty much an admission of bugs in the upgrade. If I were out there and had important projects in the works. I'd wait to upgrade. Unfortunately, I was eager to fix the problems FCP X has with LIon.
    Also, whenever I launch FCPx  I get error message at the top, that argument is invalid. Fortunately I can just press ok, and continue on. But it's very disconcerting to start a work day with an error message.
    A Anybody have similar situation? Anybody have any ideas about why my one project won't open, and how I can get in there so I can at least move the one clip that is nolonger on my computer so that perhaps the 10.1 can render it?

    This is very similar to a problem I am having and I ALSO get this pop up
    My system doesn't want to recognise events/projects stored on the INTERNAL hard drive. (Yet the pop up makes it sound like it understands that there are duplicate events/projects from my internal and external HDs)
    I had copied over the event and project folders to an EXTERNAL hard drive and when I plug that in it will bring up the events/projects from that EXTERNAL Hard drive, but not the internal one.
    This is VERY annoying.

  • Error message ArgumentError: Invalid character length everytime I try to upload form to Forms Centra

    Spent a whole day on the phone to Adobe 'experts' on Friday and still having the same error message. No one can explain why I can't upload my forms to FormsCentral. They even looked at my form and didn't advise of any error in the setup of the form. I thought perhaps the file name was too long, shortened it but to no avail.
    Is there a limit on characters you can set in form fields that I don't know about but should know about? Some of my form fields have been restricted to 17,000x characters.

    All help except for these User to User Forums, are Manned solely by, Farmed out Foreign workers that barely have any Grasp of of English, haven't been forced to learn the language and take diction classes in the language they are charged with support.  and have no experience with the product they are given to support. They given scripts with possible questions and possible answers. If the questions or answers are not on the list, then your out of luck. You much better off coming here.
    Support workers regardless of Country of Origin should be:
    Schooled in the language and take diction classes for the language they are charged with to support.
    They should have a Minimum of 5 years experience with each product they support and know every detail and  and idiosyncrasy of the program they are charged with to support. They should be costantly reschooled for each new feature, removed features and other changes of each new version.
    If they don't do that then they should quit support and cut prices by 2/3s because there is no support. No support is better than "half-hearted" support. (I wanted to say something more strong but figured I'd get censored).

    I was recording a guitar part (thru an M-Audio MobilePre) in the 24 track template (all audio tracks) on track 2, and there was a keyboard part already recorded in track 1. I tried to arm track 3 to do a second guitar part, and I got this error message. Suddenly, none of the other tracks will work -- only 1 and 2. If I open a new file using that template, it now gives me only tracks 1 and 2 to use, while all the other tracks have the same error message. If I open a Basic Setup, however, with audio, inst, and MIDI tracks preset, all the tracks will arm just fine. How do I fix this so I can use the 24 track template again -- it was working just fine! In fact, I reloaded the whole program hoping that might help, but no. Also, if I stay in the Basic Setup and create another track, why does the one above it arm at the same time (both rec lights go on)? How can I separate those? Thanks!

    It sounds like you probably are trying to specify your recording input through an input on your interface which doesn't exist, or one of your previously recorded tracks are still in use. So 1st make sure that your other tracks are not record enabled, then make sure the input of the track you are recording to is set to either input 1 or input 2 (depending on which input you are using). I believe the UA-25 has only 2 inputs, so you will only be selecting those 2 when recording audio.
