Error message Ematl sent failed related toSMTP

i sent a lenghthy Email but got message "sending of message failed. the message could not be sent using SMTP servrt mail.ourblakeford.com for an unknown reason/ Please verify thae your SMTP server settings are correct and try again." I have not been able to get the network administrator. also, since the Email was long I pressed "save" at intervals so where is my Email?
Please help1
