  • End script error message: Script:chrome//wrc/content/overlay.js:1149

I get an unresponsive script error message asking me if I would like to end script now.
    Script:chrome//wrc/content/overlay.js:1149
Firefox freezes and I have to end the program in task manager. Please help!

The name "wrc" mentioned in the chrome URL is usually a hint to which extension is causing such an issue.<br />
You didn't list the extensions, so madperson wasn't able to give more precise instructions.
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • "Script: chrome://searchshield/content/avgls-active.js:70" scrip running on page error message keeps popping up

I keep getting messages that a scrip is running on the page. It used to be once every couple of days, then every day, now every couple of minutes. An example of the message:
    "Script: chrome://searchshield/content/avgls-active.js:70"
    How do I fix this?

The problem is caused by a malfunctioning AVG add-on. Try disabling the AVG search shield add-on.
    # In the Tools menu select Add-ons
    # In the list of Extensions click on the AVG extension to select it
    # Click on the Disable button, then re-start Firefox
    This should stop the error.

The last couple of days I have been getting script errors on startup - Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml:194 ,
I am also getting shutdown errors when I power down "end program" types including sgtray.exe, hkcmd.exe, directcd.exe, msascui.exe, d3d9window.exe,

  • Script: chrome://jqs/content/overlay.js:22

I keep getting this reoccurring message and sometimes experience a crash.
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: chrome://jqs/content/overlay.js:22
    version3.6.8
    Windows XP

jqs is the Java Quick Starter. If you disable it the issue should be resolved. For details of how to do that see http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml
Also check Firefox add-ons and disable the Java QuickStart add-on. In the menu select Tools, then Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Go to the Extensions panel, click on the Java QuickStart add-on to select it, then click on the Disable button.

This issue can be caused by an extension (Menu Editor?) that isn't working properly.

  • When opening e-mail messages, I get "Warning:unresponsive script", and below that it says"Script:chrome://saff/content/saffplg.js:50 How do I solve this problem?

I am not very computer literate, so I don't know details. It happens every time I try to open an e-mail.

Probably caused by the McAfee Site Advisor extension - disable it in the Firefox Addons Manager > Extensions tab.
If you don't have that specific extension installed, there are other "security" add-ons that use the guts of McAfee SA. You'll need to figure out which one it is with a little troubleshooting.

  • Script: chrome://browser/content/places/browserPlacesViews.js:229

    Greetings!
I run Firefox on Windows XP3 Home, and I would appreciate your advice on some problems I have.
    When I click on Bookmarks, nothing happens for about 30 secs, then the following message appears;
"Script: chrome://browser/content/places/browserPlacesViews.js:229", and I can access my Bookmarks, but only once before the above is repeated. How can I solve this problem?
Also, I had previously imported my bookmarks, but they now show as two separate blocks, each in alphabetical listing. How can I combine them into a single listing?
Finally, I have a listing of ten Most Recently Bookmarked items where the tenth item vanishes when I enter a new bookmark, and none of these new items appears on the permanent list of bookmarks. How can I solve these issues?
Thank you very much for your help!
    With best wishes
    Aileks

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

  • Running script chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:3003

    I have a running script, chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:3003
    How do I stop this?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
