Error message given... cannot open itunes any more???

Hi
I tried to reinstall itunes but now whenever I try to open or gain access to my itunes library it will not allow me?
It gives me a screen where it asks if I want to "reinstall" or "repair" itunes, but whatever one of these options I choose I get an error message from the computer saying:
Error 1327 Invalid Drive H:/
And then I receive this message:
Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation
Can anyone help me because I cannot even install itunes from the start any more and I am missing my music alot!!!
I am stuck!!!
Thanks in advance

If your getting error 1327 you need to go here http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110636

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

If iTunes is otherwise working properly start with TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, otherwise move on to Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

  • Can't open iTunes any more?! (after software update)

After the last software update I can't open iTunes any more. Error message: "you can't open the application itunes because it is not supported on this type of mac". how is that possible? does the system really update to a itunes version, I can't run? how stupid is that?
    thanks!

I think what you are saing is that you have error message free launch failure with iTunes.exe persisting on the processes tab .
If so this is commonly due to a problem with cryptographic services. Here is a diagnostic Method for working out the problem:
Before checking if iTunes works, restart your PC or close the iTunes.exe process with task manager if it is running.
A couple of simple things to try:

Stop the bonjour service, this FAQ has instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2250?viewlocale=en_US
But usually it is due to a problem with cryptographic services.
Check to see if you have your smart card service and that it is not set to disabled. For some reason iTunes needs it.
    Start>>Run>>Services.msc
you should find the smart card service in the list. Report back with your findings.
Malware can interfere with cryptographic services and also prevent a resolution so it is important to check that your system is clean before proceeding: Run a virus and spyware scan with up to date definitions.
Then work through *Method 4* in the following link:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798
You should be able to copy and paste the individual lines to save on typing.
Make a careful note of any error messages you get, they are important for diagnosis. Report back any error messages especially the names of any dlls mentioned.
If there are no errors try starting iTunes.

It sounds as though a script on the site, or an advertisement, is not working quite right...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies using either of these. Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

  • I am running InDesign CS5.5 and trying to open an In Design File but getting an error message. " Cannot open the file "PDavidLCover.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file

I am running InDesign CS5.5 and trying to open an In Design File but getting an error message. " Cannot open the file "PDavidLCover.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file me be open in another application."Please help I really need to get this file open.

Since you've shown us the folder contents it's a good bet it isn't in use (no lock file). And it doesn't look like the file is mis-named as there doesn't seem to be anything else there that would be the .indd file (but just in case, open it in TextEdit and paste the first few lines here so we can see what the file header says), so the most likely case is the file is damaged. Is that on a removable device of some sort?
You can try the tool at Repair corrupt InDesign Adobe files on Mac OS X  or send me a link to the file by private message and I'll try the recovery tool I have for Windows.

  • I am trying to install Firefox 4 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 and I get the error message "You cannot open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture" Help!

I am trying to install Firefox 4 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 and I get the error message "You cannot open the application "Firefox" because it is not supported on this architecture" Help!

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

Trying to open rte player on an iPad Mini, from the UK, but Error message: "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found" is displayed. Am able to open other web pages. Only appears to be this website. Please help. Thanks in advanced.

the Safari app seems to be working for everything else.  Its just the Netflix app that it wont open.
You don't use Safari to open the Netflix app. Just tap the icon for the Netflix app on your iPad homescreen. Safari is not involved at all.
I am at a loss as to what to do!
Well, if you still can't get it to work, the obvious thing to do would be to contact Netflix Support over on their website.

  • Just bought a season, cant open iTunes any more... Help?

I just bought Season 1 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but while they were downloading, one of them didn't start, and when I said "check for purchases" it didn't do anything. So I decided to quit because it would prompt me to resume the download when iTunes is opened. When I went back to open iTunes, it wouldn't open.. I double click on the icon on my desktop, but it briefly flashes an icon that looks like a piece of paper with 3 shapes in the middle of it, then nothing happens. What's going on?

  • HP DESKJET INK ADVANT K209a-z, extraction fialed : error message "0 cannot open output file"

    D/Sir,
I have extracted hp deskjet int advant k209a-z driver using 7zip.
I was getting the error "Extraction Failed: Cannot Open Output File".
On extract with 7-zip, I get the message:
0 can not open output file "<folders>/Autorun.inf"
I am on business laptop with Windows XP but tried with Admininstrator login as well.
Please help me. How to extract it sucessfully?

That type of error message may be indicative of a bad file. Did you download it on the web? If so, try again, but do not use a download manager or program to do it, those can occasionally cause problems with compressed files.
It could be possible, also, that some sort of security program on your laptop is blocking the extraction process. If that is the case you should be able to find some error in the Windows event viewer through the control panel.

  • ITunes error message. Cannot open or sync

    Hi
I've been having problems with iTunes since downloading the new software for os4. I upgraded my iTunes to 9 and it worked once, in order to complete the software upgrade on my iPhone. Now every time I try to open iTunes it comes up with an error message
Cannot create the directory 'C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\ja.lproj\ DevicePrefsRingtones.nib'
A file with this name already exists. Please remame or remove the file and click retry or cable to exit.
I have tried looking for the file name and i can't find it, it doesn't come up in a search nor when I manually look for it. I can find other file pathways but not the ring tone one.
I think the problem has occurred after I downloaded a ringtone from a non apple site.
I'm unable to open iTunes at all. I have tried downloading a new version but it gets halfway though download and say that it already exists. I don't want to delete iTunes as I will lose all my data.
It has also corrupted my iPod function on my iPhone and that no longer works.
I hope I have put enough detail in my post for you to help, this is my first time posting!!!
    Thanks.

When you start iTunes, do you get a message about Windows configuring stuff before the error message.
When you start iTunes it checks to see if it is installed correctly and triggers a repair if not.
This kind of message usually occurs when something has got corrupted.
First try running a disk check to see if any problems are fixed. If they are try reinstalling.
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315265
If not, try renaming the folder C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\ja.lproj\ as something else, then reinstall. Maybe that will trick the installer into getting past this.

  • Error message 3212 - cannot operate itunes

After months of trouble free use, I downloaded ver 9 itunes. Now I get error message 3212 saying there is a problem with connectivity - remove firewall, or security is blocking connection. I removed all firewalls and disabled all security. On advice from Apple I uninstalled itunes. Reinstalled itunes. No change, I still cannot connect. Took my ipod to work. Downloaded ver 9 itunes there with no problem. Opened itunes ok, downloaded my podcasts (streaming radio) and updated my nano ipod. What gives? Only difference is at work we're using IE ver 7. At home, I had just downloaded IE ver 8. Does anyone have any ideas, because Apple cannot seem to help. Is there a prob with IE8 and itunes? Please help.
