Error Message in Flash

Hello there,
I keep having problems in flash. I have created a webpage
gallery of 11 images. Once I finish it and test it. Everything
works. I then go to save it. And that works. But I have use .psd
image files because I know flash has better compression that way
and smaller published files. I am having problems when I go to Save
and Compact. I get the error message:
quote:
Could not open one or more scenes probably because of low
memory.
To increase available memory close open documents.
Well if you look at the image
here
there is only one other file open and it's new and has one little
square in it. I have only 4 other programs open. None of which are
doing anything. My Ram is not an issue because I have 2GB ram and
right now I currently have over half a gig left available! So is
there any reason this isn't working? I am just trying to update an
already existing web gallery (
http://scotbarchitects.com/root/potomac1gal.html
) with new pictures and also taking the .jpg's that I have in there
and replacing them with .psd for faster load times.
Any ideas.
Oh also after that error message comes up and I click it a
couple times, I cannot open my file. So then I have to redo the
whole Gallery!!

Do PNG files compress as well as psd files?

  • Unable to publish projects with inserted video - error message The Flash video can not be loaded

I've created a project in Captivate 6 with two slides that have inserted videos in them
Both the videos were created in Captivate 6 by publishing those projects as mp4 videos
They play fine in the previews but when publishing I get the error saying the Flash video can not be loaded for both of those slides and in the output files the area for the video is blank.
I have checked that the videos are not open anywhere else as I saw on a previous post this was the issue but the only place they are in use is in the project I am trying to publish.
Below are my settings and the error message
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your screenshot indicates you are publishing to a folder on a network drive.
    Have you:
Verified whether or not the video file exists at the published folder location? (It should ideally be sitting in the same folder as the SWF that calls it.)
Verified that the folder location is set up as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings?

  • Output Error Message in Flash 8

    Hi All,
I'm building a form in Flash 8 that includes check boxes.
When I add the check boxes and test the movie I get the following
    output error message:
**Warning** The linkage identifier 'CheckBox' was already
assigned to the symbol 'Assets/UIComponents/CheckBox', and cannot
be assigned to the symbol 'CheckBox', since linkage identifiers
    must be unique.
For the life of me I can't get rid of this. Anyone know what
    the heck is going on?
    Thanks,
    Scott

It appears that the OP has created a MovieClip symbol and
named it CheckBox, then has chosen to export for actionscript. The
CheckBox component needs to have that identifier to function
correctly. So the OP needs either, change the linkage ID on the
symbol named "CheckBox", or take the linkage ID off
    completely.

What version of Mac OS X? Be aware that Studio 8 is quite old and may not be supported on later versions of Mac OS X. In fact the reference to <Flash Carbon Player> suggests this, as Carbon is being deprecated (it was a way to bridge the old pre-mac os x codebases and bring them over to Mac OS X). It may be time to upgrade/update your software.

  • Video error message in Flash projector

    Hi,
I am trying to watch a video which is linked to a Flash
projector. When I click the link, it says
'unable to download an appropriate decompressor'
Is anyone familiar with this error message? If so, it this a
problem with the projector, a problem with Windows Media Player or
a problem with the computer it is playing on?
I have tried it on my laptop (a newer model running Windows
XP which the projector was created on) and everything works just
    fine.
    Thanks very much.

What projector version are you using ?

  • ERROR MESSAGE regarding Flash Player

When i want to watch a program on BBC iplayer, it comes up with an error message saying that you must download Flash Player or that it is not up to date, however when i follow the link it brings me to a page that says that either ActiveX Filtering is on or Shockwave Flash Player is disabled, however i have checked both of these and it is not the case, I run Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer (latest version). This has happened before and i have managed to fix it however it has returned and i have no clue how to make it work. Please Help!

am I opening up a bag of trouble by swithing off "Active Fitering"?
    About ActiveX Filtering
    ActiveX Filtering TestDrive Demo
ActiveX Filtering allows you to browse the Web without running any ActiveX controls.
As you browse the Web, you may encounter webpages that don't work properly unless you install an ActiveX control. ActiveX controls are powerful browser plugins that enable many rich web experiences. However, many of these controls are written by 3rd parties and Microsoft cannot guarantee their quality.
After installing an ActiveX control to use on a particular site, you may find that this control is now running on many other websites as well. Sometimes, such controls may be used to display content that you don't want to see, and they might even prevent you from having a good experience when viewing the webpage. Moreover, ActiveX controls may introduce performance, reliability, security or privacy issues while browsing.
ActiveX Filtering puts you even more firmly in control of the ActiveX controls running in your browser. When ActiveX Filtering is enabled, you can choose which websites you want to allow to run ActiveX controls. Sites you have not approved cannot run these controls, and the browser will not show prominent notifications prompting you to install or enable them.
    Try it out!
You can test-drive ActiveX Filtering by following the instructions below!
First, enable ActiveX Filtering via the Tools Menu:
Tools > Safety > ActiveX Filtering
When you visit a webpage that contains ActiveX controls, IE will prevent the controls from loading. IE displays an icon in the address bar to indicate that the ActiveX controls have been filtered:
If you visit a webpage that contains ActiveX content you want to view, you can simply turn off filtering for that website. Click the icon to display the fly-out window.
From here you can choose to turn off ActiveX Filtering. Once you take action, IE refreshes the page to ensure that all ActiveX content on the webpage runs. Now that you've turned off ActiveX Filtering for the webpage, the icon on the address bar changes state accordingly.
After you've finished viewing the content, you can click on the icon and turn filtering back on if you'd like, or you can leave filtering off for this website.
    Reference:
Webpage with lots of ActiveX Controls: here
Webpage with ActiveX content you want to view: here
ActiveX is the number one reason I don't use IE. It's an ancient (in computer time) technology, dating back to 1993. EVERY other browser in the known world abandoned ActiveX more than a decade ago.

  • Error message using Flash Video Converter

When trying to encode a simple mpeg file using Flash 8 Video
Converter I get an error message - as simple as that, no
explanation, just a "Encoding is not possible because an error
    occurred".
I've also tried importing the mpg onto Flash's stage and
going through the steps of the "Progressive download from a web
server" - again, nothing happened, just an error message.
    Any ideas, help, advice?
    Thanks, Raf.

Try to resample or another format.
Not all mpegs are compatible, they come with very large
    variety
of compressions for video and audio while flash has very
    particular
    range, specified in help files.

  • Error message re flash download

I received this error message - any advice?
Adobe Reader could not open 'install_flash_player_osx_ub-6.dmg' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

Try to download the installer from

  • I keep getting an error message, the flash player won't install, help?

I'am using internet explorer 8 and I followed all the trouble shooting steps in the support center but i keep getting this message:
"Error opening for file writing: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx".
The Pop up that allows it to download the file isn't coming up, but when i tried to download the Adobe air and it came up. I checked all the security settings in the Internet options and followed it but still the same. What could this mean? Thank you.

    Try the following:
    download the Flash Player uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
    close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller;
    open Windows Explorer, then check that %WINDIR%\system32\Macromed\Flash is empty (or non-existant);
    now run the downloaded installer

  • Error message in Flash CS6

I'm getting an error in Flash CS6 when trying to add web address.:The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:  SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list. I've opened new job and clicked on Publish Settings and ticked 'Permit Debugging' as suggested elsewhere on a Adobe forum but no luck. Any answers would be great.

you opened a fla and created a button and opened the snippets panel without problem, correct.
then, in the actions panel while the button was selected, you click actions>click to go to web page, correct?
and that last click triggers the javascript error, correct?
if yes to all 3 you have a faulty flash pro installation.  uninstall flash and then reinstall.
if you did anything else, other than exactly what i listed, explain what you did.
