Error message in Premiere 12 on Windows 7 when reordering video clips

I am using Premiere 12 on my PC using Windows 7. I have done a substantial amount of editing already but every time I go to re-order my video clips an error message pops up and priemere shuts down. When I trouble shoot the problem it says there is an incompatibility issue. Help! What should I do? I don't want to lose the work I have already done.

Please give more details on the message regarding incompatibility? Please give exact wording of message.
What exactly are you doing with the "re-order" of the video clips? Is this the only Timeline activity that triggers this message and/or program shutdown?
How large is the project when this issue occurs?
Are you working with the AutoSave feature On? See Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoSave.
Please consider and then we can decide what next.

    I am currently running Windows 7 (Professional) and I downloaded Premiere Element 12 off Tech Soup so I could make a short video for my company. I am working on a specific project and I have done a considerable amount of editing already. When I try to renegotiate  the positions of various clips- an "error" message appears and then the program shuts down. Is my computer incompatible??? HELP! I don't want to lose all the work I have done. Also, I am so desperate I would be willing to buy the software all over again and put it on my mac-laptop but that would be my last resort!     When I asked about computer resources, I was asking about how much installed and available RAM the computer has, how much free hard drive space, the processor and the clock speed. Most of that you can get by right clicking the word Computer and selecting Properties.
    About your alternative plans...
    Your Premiere Elements 12 Windows project is not going to work on Premiere Elements Mac (whatever version)
    If you export your Premiere Elements 12 project to a .mp4 file (Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with one of the .mp4 presets), you can import that into a Premiere Elements Mac project. However, that is a whole video which will need trimming to make significant further edits.
    No guarantees, but your Premiere Elements 12 Windows project file should open in Premiere Elements 13 Windows. But, work with a copy of the Premiere Elements 12 Windows project as a safety net.
    This is what I would like you to do.
    Can you open that Premiere Elements 12 Windows project that shutdown when you were moving clips around in the Edit area of the program? If so, open to the Expert workspace. Have you placed audio transitions in the Timeline content? If so, remove them and determine if the problem is gone, is the same, or gets worse.
    Also, what specific media were you moving around when the crash took place? If you can open the project, can you delete and re-import the file(s) in question? What Timeline tracks are you using and which were involved in this incident?
    I am particularly interested in the answer to the last question to use the answer as a point to start the troubleshooting.
    Please let me know if you need clarification on the above.
    We will be watching for further developments and will keep close track of your posts.

    It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.
    If you meant Adobe Photoshop Elements, you're in the wrong forum.  This is not the Elements forum.

  • Debug unknow error message followed by shut down when attempting to render nested timeline

    My specs:
    AMD64 x2 Athlon 4600+
    ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard
    2 RAID 0 hard drive (1 TB and one 500 GB) SATA2
    1 SATA2 C: drive of 160 GB
    4 GB of DDR2 RAM
    MATROX APVe
    Dual Monitors (with Ultramon)
    Windows XP Pro
    Premiere Pro CS3 using AspectHd v5.0 build 88
    My PP3 gives me an unkonwn error message in a debug window everytime I try to render my timeline that has one 2 seconds clip of another nested sequence...!?!
    It occurs at about a fifth of the 1st of 2 audio preview render that it has to do.
    I usualy did have problem rendering file with PP2 cause of Premiere's system memory bug, but never I've add trouble before in PP3...until well now.
    What is the problem? Anybody experiencing that bug also?

    The project in which this problem occurs is about 1 TB of footage in AspectHD Low HD; there's 37 tape captured in batch and recomposed on a different sequence for each tape to compensate for the lost of timecode when digitazing with CINEFORM (so 37 nested time line).
    I use those nested timelines as if I was picking shots from a huge clip that captured the whole tape.
    Of course Premiere ask me the render the sequences nested in addition to the main one in which I edit footage...
    I'm currently editing a trailer and wanted to render 2 clip that were sampled from 2 different sequences, but PP3 has the bug windows at 10,51% and closes. The text in the debug window is that "Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry about..."

    OS is window10, Metro APP is Xbox or MultiMedia 8; any video format will occur error only by following steps:  
    a. Put Audio / Media / Photo files into USB thumb disk or Micro SD card.
    b. Connect USB thumb disk / Micro SD Card  to Platform.
    c. Open 'File Explorer', click USB thumb disk.
    d. Open audio file with metro app: Music. / Open Media file with metro app: Video./Open Photo file with metro app.

  • Error Message: "The parameter is incorrect" when trying to modify SSLs

    Like I wrote in my subject line, RoboHelp pop-ups the error message “The Parameter is incorrect” when I try to modify any SSL.
    What happens next, is that the “Print Document General” window opens, but does not allow me to select anything (the fields are blank).
    If I close the window and open it again, it seems to work until I have to select the styles from our Microsoft Word Template.
    Then the error message “The parameter is incorrect” appears again, and RoboHelp does not allow me to select anything but a stylesheet
    (which is not what I need).
    This is very strange, because not only  until recently I was able to build Word documents and PDFs, but also my colleagues are able to
    produce them out of my source.
    Even the old projects, that I was able to build, now I cannot.
    I do not have any problem in generating CHMs.
    Until now I have tried everything I found in the forum:
    I deleted the PSS file (also following the advice in your snippet number 14 from 10 – RoboHelp HTML –Features and Use).

    I know you said you reinstalled, but did you reinstall before or after you gave administrator rights to all users on your computer? And how many users *ARE* on your computer?
    Often you need administrator rights to properly install things.

    I am trying to install the Adobe Reader XI on a PC with Windows XP Professional SP3, but I always get ehe error message 'CABINET.DLL is missing' when I run the installation program Is anyone wxperiencing this problem? I would REALLY like to have the latest Reader up and running, it doesn't work properly with the "portable" version...

    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.     Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    I had the exact same issue, being on a mac. If you are on a mac and the connection error message occurs, then use this link http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
    It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

    After installing the latest itunes update, I received two error messages:  MSVCR80.dii and windows error 7 126?  I cannot access itunes at all and am eager ti fux these errors.  If Apple itunes is at fault I sure wish they would fix the problem.  At least I'll save money if I can't access itunes!
