Just happened recently. Running latest mac operating system 10.8.2 and CS6 is updated.
I have to force quite the program and even when the program icon disappears, the error message stays on the screen. After I have force quit am I allowed to close the error message.

rename that .txt file to a .7z
then click or double click the exe.

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.

Error message in Bridge CS6 -- how to fix?

I'm getting an error message in Bridge CS6.
I'm trying to create a Journal with Filmstrip with 42 items. The creation process stops after several photos -- 32 last time -- and I get an error messgae saying "Gallery creation stopped because of unknown error - sorry."
Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

While having very less experience with Web Gallery I used Bridge CC (same output module as CS6) to create one with 42 files in a journal with filmstrip without problems
The preview only is capable of showing 20 max but saving the file to my drive I had no problem viewing it in my browser with all 42 files.
I have a Mac with OSX 10.8 and Bridge CC
Can you provide more details about your set up?

Are all the files able t pen and view in PS, are they not to big, what file type and size are you using?

Error message: adobe mediacore CS6 has stopped working --????

I am trying to run premiere elements 10 on a high=end pc with 8gb of memory, Win 7 Pro4-bit, massive hard drives and no conflicting software (that I can see....).
Can open up the program and use the manage module. It shows me three files that I have ready to work on. When I go to edit one of those files I get: 'adobe prem elem 10 has stopped working' and then 'adob media core CS6 has stopped working'. I can see from googling that other people have had this problme with no solution from Adobe yet. Any ideas? And no, running some defragmenter and system check thing on my PC is not in the cards. Don't need to buy any of those guys. Really.....

After an uninstall of InDesign and the antivirus software, no solution to the problem. I went into the startup menu and started doing selected start ups. I was able to narrow down the conflict to the "windows management instrumentation" program. When this is not running, I get the message that my ID has reached its activation limit and I need a new number or it needs to be deauthorized on at least one computer. There are a couple of other programs that need WMI to run as well. I did go in and delete the preferences since nothing I had was hard to recreate. Can the other files in the cache be deleted as well? Will ID look for them and recreate them such as the one in the recovery folder? Anyway, I had one document that I have been working on be rescaled-very strange. Everything else was unchanged. One other thing, when I would get the error message, I would close and then reopen the document without any problem. However, when I closed it again, even if all i did was view it without changing anything, I would get the prompt if I wanted to save the changes.
So does that help at all in narrowing down the problem? I have reinstalled the antivirus, and it did not affect anything. As long as I don't run WMI, I don't get the error message.

U44M1P7 error when updating Premiere CS6

I can't update Premiere, or any other CS6 applications, without getting this U44M1P7 error message. Recently, I had to reinstall all of my CS6 apps due to my company switching to an Adobe Teams account and since then, none of my apps will update. I have also tried to download the update files and install them manually using the Adobe Patch Installer and I get this error code: U44M2I218. Please help Adobe staff.

"unable to acquire rendered frame" error message with AE CS6 Motion Tracker

Hi Everyone,
I am having issues with the built in tracking software in After Effects CS6. Everytime I hit "analyze" I receive the error message "unable to acquire rendered frame" or it simply remains at "0% (frame 1 of 70)". Sometimes I get the message "unable to obtain dynamiclink server connection". I've tried different types of footage, re-started, re-installed the software, deleted (emptied) the database and caches, started a fresh composition, and even did a fresh install of OSX but nothing works. Any ideas? I've searched a lot of forums on this and I've seen the problem in similiar situations (same error message with Warp Stabilizer analysis) but nobody seem to have found any resolution.
I'm running AfterEffects CS6 on Mac OS 10.8.

Downloaded all the latest updates.

What firewall/antivirus software are you using?
After Effects communicates with the background camera tracker process using TCP, and some overly aggressive firewall/antivirus software can block this communication. That may be the problem in your case.

Receiving a serious error message and premiere 9 must shut down

When i open the program i get the welcome screen then i click to open a new or existing file and i get a gray background with a error message "sorry a serious error has occurred that requires adobe premiere elements to shutdown.We will attempt to save your current project'' The program worked fine a few weeks ago now it is not.

Just some questions specific to Premiere Elements 9 with Premiere Elements details.
For now I am assuming that you are using Premiere Elements 9 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disk and tell us to what hard drive location you have
pointed the Scratch Disks and how much free space is at that location.
Then please go to Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/9.0 and tell us how many files you
find in the Adobe Premiere Elements Previews Files Folder and the Media Cache Files Folder. Delete
the content of of either folder if it has pile ups of files. Also go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit
the Clean button in the Media Cache Database area there.
Please delete the Adobe Premiere Elemens Prefs file or the 9.0 Folder in which it exists. The path to
the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is

and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work,
then delete the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure the
you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see
the complete path cited.
I am assuming that you have been and are running the program from a User Account with Administrative
Privileges and that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed. But good to double check. In addition, even
if you are working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges, right click the Premiere Elements 9 desktop
icon and click on Run As Administrator.
Let us pause here, review the above, and then decide what is next.

Error message in Premiere 12 on Windows 7 when reordering video clips

I am using Premiere 12 on my PC using Windows 7. I have done a substantial amount of editing already but every time I go to re-order my video clips an error message pops up and priemere shuts down. When I trouble shoot the problem it says there is an incompatibility issue. Help! What should I do? I don't want to lose the work I have already done.

What exactly are you doing with the "re-order" of the video clips? Is this the only Timeline activity that triggers this message and/or program shutdown?
How large is the project when this issue occurs?
Are you working with the AutoSave feature On? See Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoSave.

Hi Everyone,
I currently can't start cs6 6.0.5 on my MacBook Pro running 10.7.5 with 4 GB memory. I get the serious error message and then it shuts down. This also happened before I upgraded to 6.0.5 and then it worked fine for a couple months. Then, it started giving me the "serious error" message when I tried to capture video. Now, it just gives it to me again when I start the program. For weeks, I've searched the other "serious error" message threads, but haven't found a solution yet. I've reinstalled a bunch of times and cleared the preferences, but nothing's worked so far. I really need some help. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Error message when opening CS6 files in earlier versions

PSCS6 with 12.0.4 update. Mac OSX 10.8.2 16GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 543 GB Available
I've recently become aware that other people are getting an error message when opening many of my my psd files if they are on earlier versions of PS and also on PSE, (including the latest version). The message is:
This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead, choose flatten to load composite data as a flattened image.
Three options follow: Flatten Cancel Keep Layers
When 'keep layers' is selected the file opens as normal. However, people with much earlier version (CS version 8) don't get the option to keep layers, and the layers are flattened when the document is opened.
I still have CS5 on my mac, and I find that if I take my finished file into CS5 and save it there, the customer does not get the message above, and the file behaves as it should. Those on very early version of PS can also open the files without any issues.
I've been using CS6 since it was released and have had to delve through all my files and save them in CS5. Not every file is affected and I've been unable to find a common thread.
Hoping someone can throw some light on this.

This similar to the message one should get in an older version of photoshop such as photoshop 7.
If one presses ok instead of read composite that might preserve the layers with the original look.
But sometimes if a layer blending mode or some other feature is used an earlier versions of photoshop doesn't have, reading the composite is the only way to preserve the look of the image.
You said your using shape layers?
If they are shape layers you didn't use a stroke from the tool options bar?
Can you post an example of the image with the layers panel visible that you get that message with?
I guess your using photoshop cs6 with the 13.01 update?

Mac Pro restarts with kernel panic error during Adobe Premiere CS6 or Adobe Media Encoder CS6 render/encode.

Multiple times this week, my Mac Pro at work has been restarting during renders in Adobe Media Encoder CS6 and Adobe Premiere CS6. This seems to be specific on this computer only. Identical computers don't have this problem. Here is the system report after it reboots to OS X:

That doesn't look like a complete panic report. Is there any more to it? Regardless, I suggest you run the extended form of the Apple Hardware Test. If it fails to identify a fault, remove the RAM upgrade and test with the original RAM.

Error Message in Premiere Elements 7

I have used Premiere Elements 7 successfully for some time. I recently got a new Windows 7 laptop and loaded PREL 7 onto it. When I start a new project, in the ORGANISE section, when I go to add media, I select as I did before an .mp4 file but after a short while I get an error message saying "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed". I have got the latest version of Quicktime installed, but I am now lost for how to get over this. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Error message in Premiere Elements 4 to 9 "Running short on Memory"

When you get the error message " RUNNING SHORT ON MEMORY" save your work > in Premiere Elements while editing with H.264 mov files in excess of 1GB is it related to the Microsoft Operating System Limit of 4GB and 2GB performance of the program to 2GB ?

The H.264 mov 1920x 1080p clips are from a Canon 5D Mark II which we have been using for over two years mainly for stills. however, the movie capabilities of this camera has been used commercially re: jazz band performances and promos. We have successfully used it to produce DVD's and Blu-Ray discs and Export to Tape. However, the one glitch we have had is importing a large number of clips into Premiere Elements 4. it will take approx 30 clips at 25mb each which can be easily rendered and then Exported to Movie as HDV/mpeg-2 Uncompressed avi,( they DELL have recommended to go to CS5 as soon as possible, which we intend to do) to be finally edited in Premiere Pro 1.5.1 as it does not like H.264 mov.
According to Dell Technical Support Australia the 4GB Operating System Limit in Windows and the 2G performance of the 32 bit Adobe Software is causing the issue , even in our i7 Wndows Professional Quad Core with 12GB RAM. The size of some of the productions sometimes exceed 98 GB and run after transcoding very smoothly in Premiere Pro, which never crashes, and has been used for over 3 years without problems at all.

See attached screen dumps, may help ? Neither program it taking advantage of the 64 bit OS in the new Workstation of course nor the 12GB Ram as they are only 32 bit.
