Error Message in Premiere Elements 7
I have used Premiere Elements 7 successfully for some time. I recently got a new Windows 7 laptop and loaded PREL 7 onto it. When I start a new project, in the ORGANISE section, when I go to add media, I select as I did before an .mp4 file but after a short while I get an error message saying "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed". I have got the latest version of Quicktime installed, but I am now lost for how to get over this. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.

Error message in Premiere Elements 4 to 9 "Running short on Memory"
When you get the error message " RUNNING SHORT ON MEMORY" save your work > in Premiere Elements while editing with H.264 mov files in excess of 1GB is it related to the Microsoft Operating System Limit of 4GB and 2GB performance of the program to 2GB ?

The H.264 mov 1920x 1080p clips are from a Canon 5D Mark II which we have been using for over two years mainly for stills. however, the movie capabilities of this camera has been used commercially re: jazz band performances and promos. We have successfully used it to produce DVD's and Blu-Ray discs and Export to Tape. However, the one glitch we have had is importing a large number of clips into Premiere Elements 4. it will take approx 30 clips at 25mb each which can be easily rendered and then Exported to Movie as HDV/mpeg-2 Uncompressed avi,( they DELL have recommended to go to CS5 as soon as possible, which we intend to do) to be finally edited in Premiere Pro 1.5.1 as it does not like H.264 mov.
According to Dell Technical Support Australia the 4GB Operating System Limit in Windows and the 2G performance of the 32 bit Adobe Software is causing the issue , even in our i7 Wndows Professional Quad Core with 12GB RAM. The size of some of the productions sometimes exceed 98 GB and run after transcoding very smoothly in Premiere Pro, which never crashes, and has been used for over 3 years without problems at all.

See attached screen dumps, may help ? Neither program it taking advantage of the 64 bit OS in the new Workstation of course nor the 12GB Ram as they are only 32 bit.

Error Message - "Adobe Premiere Elements.exe has stopped working"
This has happened before but I have been able to work out of it previously. Now no matter what I do (such as starting a new project) it crashes every time. I read alot of the posts/articles here about troubleshooting PE but to no avail. Basically I can capture, save, render, even "share" the project in other formats, but anytime I try to edit, or even watch any video in the viewer, it crashes. Even if I advance the video one frame it crashes! Event viewer reveals that the error event ID is 1000. Today's crashes have a time stamp of 0x46df9114, faulting module MSVCR80.dll. Yesterday's crashes list a different faulting module. There is also an exception code, fault offset, process ID. Not sure what information is needed. Any help is greatly appreciated - I am behind on an important project. Many thanks!

4 GB RAMFirst, Google "MSVCR80.dll" and limit to "Adobe Premiere." Leave off "Elements" for now. You will find plenty of articles and some in this forum (one very recently). Many will have Adobe KB articles on problems and what to do.
Next, this ARTICLE might yield some clues to any other problem, at the time of the crashes.

I purchased this online, downloaded it without issue, and it won't open. I get an error message that states "Elements 13 has stopped working"

What computer operating system?
Uninstall, free ccleaner run through, and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled is not a bad idea. But, let us look at some other
factors before that.
1. When you try to open the program, how far do you get....Welcome Screen - clicking on Organizer or Video Editor or other?
Have you tried to open the program directly from the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file after you have applied Run As Administrator to that file?
2. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working in a school or company network?
3. Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of mouse?
4. Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the website of the manufacturer of the card?
4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed and are you running the programs as administrator?
Let us start here and then decide what next based on the details in your reply.
Besides uninstall/ccleaner/reinstall, we may next try deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file or the whole 13 Folder in which it
exists or installing the program in a newly created user account with administrative privileges and trying to run the program from there.
But, let us rule in or out the first 4.

I have been using Elements 12 without a problem for 9 months. Now when I try to open the program, I get an error message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 quit unexpectedly" and it will not open at all. What can I do to open the program?
Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

No Disk Error for Adobe Premiere Elements 12
I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 12 to my PC. Everytime I load the software, I get this annoying alert saying that there is no disk located error. I can get it to go away if I click on try again a bunch of times, but I want to get rid of this problem. It should NOT be happening. SOME BODY TELL ME WHAT TO DO PLEEAASE!

There was no definitive answer. Still waiting for follow up to the latest line of questions in that thread.
Suggestions about this being a long time issue are a bit misleading. In versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 12, there was a SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 feature which appeared to be linked to the disc error message. And, updating SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 was claimed to be the cause and remedy for the disc error message.

However, SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 is no longer a feature in Premiere Elements 12. Premiere Elements 12 does have a Music Score feature, similar in principle to SmartSound soundtracks, but the SmartSound feature is gone in version 12.

Receiving a serious error message and premiere 9 must shut down
When i open the program i get the welcome screen then i click to open a new or existing file and i get a gray background with a error message "sorry a serious error has occurred that requires adobe premiere elements to shutdown.We will attempt to save your current project'' The program worked fine a few weeks ago now it is not.

Just some questions specific to Premiere Elements 9 with Premiere Elements details.
For now I am assuming that you are using Premiere Elements 9 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Please go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disk and tell us to what hard drive location you have
pointed the Scratch Disks and how much free space is at that location.
Then please go to Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/9.0 and tell us how many files you
find in the Adobe Premiere Elements Previews Files Folder and the Media Cache Files Folder. Delete
the content of of either folder if it has pile ups of files. Also go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media and hit
the Clean button in the Media Cache Database area there.
Please delete the Adobe Premiere Elemens Prefs file or the 9.0 Folder in which it exists. The path to
the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is

and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work,
then delete the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure the
you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see
the complete path cited.
I am assuming that you have been and are running the program from a User Account with Administrative
Privileges and that you have the latest version of QuickTime installed. But good to double check. In addition, even
if you are working from a User Account with Administrative Privileges, right click the Premiere Elements 9 desktop
icon and click on Run As Administrator.
Let us pause here, review the above, and then decide what is next.
