Error Message in Soundbooth CS5

Every time I try to download a sound effect from the Resource Center in Soundbooth, I get the following error:
"We're sorry, but there was an error communicating with the server.  Please try again and if the problem persists, contact Adobe Technical Support. (0) ioError: -1"
Does anyone know of any way to fix this?  I'm running Adobe Soundbooth CS 5 version 3.0 on Mac OSX 10.6.8
Thanks

That stuff is simply gone. SB is deprecated and was EOL'd (end of life) in 2011. Inevitably Resource Central would follow its fate some day and that seems to have happened end of April.

Haven't a clue what to do!
Any help and direction would be most appreciated.

Updates can fail due to any number of system issue. They are more prone to failing if you alter the application in any way. On the Macintosh, popular applications such as Monoligual will remove application package contents and therefore cause updates to fail.
The easiest solution is to uninstall Illustrator CS5 using the uninstaller and then reinstall Illustrator CS5, then immediatlly run the 15.0.1 update.

It sounds like you might be running into an error related to third-party plug-ins:

  • Error message occurs during CS5 Master Collection Trial Install.

I downloaded the trial version of CS5 Master Collection from the Adobe site. Everything works until after I enter my password to start installation an error message comes up saying:
The Setup encountered and error(-1) during install. Please restart the machine and try again.
I've done that and it still shows the same message! What do I do?

Since CS5 is from 4+ years before the Cloud, this is not the right forum... but I don't really know a correct forum for that very old product
Have you tried to manually update the individual programs?
All updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • Error messages appearing in CS5 after uninstalling CS2

I have Adobe CS5 for Windows. I was running out of space on my laptop, and started looking at unneeded programs to delete. I realized that although it had been years since I upgraded, I still had CS2 on the computer taking up several gigs of space, so I uninstalled each CS2 program. Since then, when I attempt to go into CS5 programs, I get error messages. For Photoshop, I get a message that says "Could not synchronize the color settings because the color settings file could not be found." When I go into Illustrator, the message is "Adobe Illustrator has detected a problem in the windows registry which needs to be corrected for Illustrator to work properly. Would you like Illustrator to correct the problem now?"  No matter if I choose yes or no, the error comes back the next time I load it.
I am able to get into Indesign fine, but when I try to print to a PDF, I get this:
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: setdistillerparams; ErrorInfo: CalCMYKProfile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
Error accessing color profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Again, all of this started when I deleted an old copy of CS2. Any idea what's going on? Any help would be appreciated!

Reinstall CS5. uninstalling CS2 has obviously messed with the PDf presets/ libraries.

  • Error message:  Adobe InDesign CS5 has stopped working

    Hi,
I am having a strange problem.  When I open an InDesign file, I get the error message above.  Then windows is looking for a solution.  I close the window and reopen the file and it opens right up.  This problem does not occur if I open InDesign first then open the file.  Only when I try to open the file and InDesign starts to run.  I am running Windows 7 64bit.  Any ideas out there?

After an uninstall of InDesign and the antivirus software, no solution to the problem.  I went into the startup menu and started doing selected start ups.  I was able to narrow down the conflict to the "windows management instrumentation" program.  When this is not running, I get the message that my ID has reached its activation limit and I need a new number or it needs to be deauthorized on at least one computer.  There are a couple of other programs that need WMI to run as well.  I did go in and delete the preferences since nothing I had was hard to recreate.  Can the other files in the cache be deleted as well?  Will ID look for them and recreate them such as the one in the recovery folder?  Anyway, I had one document that I have been working on be rescaled-very strange.  Everything else was unchanged.  One other thing, when I would get the error message, I would close and then reopen the document without any problem.  However, when I closed it again, even if all i did was view it without changing anything, I would get the prompt if I wanted to save the changes.
So does that help at all in narrowing down the problem?  I have reinstalled the antivirus, and it did not affect anything.  As long as I don't run WMI, I don't get the error message.
    thanks,
    Clark

  • Windows 8 - Photoshop CS5.1 crashes upon startup. Error message: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working.A problem caused by the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

    Hello!
I've had the student version of the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium software for several years now.
When I received my Windows 8 computer I installed the software with no issue.
Last week when I tried opening Photoshop I get the following error: "Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 has stopped working.A problem caused by the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I deactivated and uninstalled the entire Creative Suite then reinstalled it. I am able to open the other programs, but still receive the same message for Photoshop.
    What can I do?

I found the issue was with the Nik Filters I was using. The filters were messing with Photoshop's initializing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the filters and now Photoshop works like a charm.
It appears this forum is dead?!
Thankfully, I was able to troubleshoot on my own and figured out the problem...

  • Error message when downloading CS5

My hard drive fried so I'm having to reinstall CS5. When I waited 8+ hours for the download to complete from the files that were in my product purchase history, it told me that the file was not recognized. THEN I read some forums and tried to download the trial versions, but but then it told me to reference code #18.169b1e45.1346194800.4a2d3b2e.
    HELP!

I am unsure what this error code you have posted refers too.  Can you please provide a screenshot of the error?
Also which operating system are you using?  What Creative Suite 5 product are you trying to download and install?  Are you able to start the installation or are you having problems completing the download.

  • I get an error message when updating CS5

Trying to update CS5 so I can open some of the newer Raw Files. I tried several times and after trying to update I get this message:
    Updates fail to install on:
    Adobe Bridge CS54.0.5 update
Adobe Extension Manager CS5- 5.0 update
Photoshop 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5

I spoke to Adobe, they let me redownload an updated version of CS5 which did not work, I still cannot upload and they said that there was nothing they could do about it.  The tech said I should post the problem on this forum and maybe someone has a fix.  At this time I still cannot get any updates and I have heard from no one else.  My feeling is that this is their way to get us to upgrade and get Photoshop CS6, but that is me being my cynical self.  I have tried downloading the updates every time I get a message that there is one, but it never works.  Good luck and if you ever get a fix, please let me know.
I just got an update message yesterday, I will try again when I have time.

  • Cant run droples: Error messages with Photoshop CS5, why?

I made a droplet  from Photoshop CS5 that takes a picture, and makes the background white color transparent.
But when i drop files in the droplet, i get the error "Could not save a copy as nameofimage.png  because the file is locked or you do not have the necesasry access privileges. .."
This apparently has been a problem for many users and even in previous versions. But there doesn't seem to be a fix.
what can i do about it?
Some people argued that it's a Mac problem and not a Photoshop one.

  • The file is not readble - error message in Illustrator CS5

My wife worked on an Illustrator CS5 file for an upcoming after school program last night, then saved and closed.  This morning she tried to fine tune it before work and was presented with this message in a pop-up . . . The file is not readable . . . and in the meantime, not only is her heart is in her throat but her assistant principal jumping up and down as if it she had done something wrong.  Since we use the original Illustrator CS at work I offered to try and help but of course, cannot open CS5 files.  Anyway, I promised to research and try to find a solution and am posting here following submitting a bug report to Adobe about the issue.
Finally, is this rare or nearly unheard of?  I searched and found a similar thread back in May 2010 but sadly, didn't see a resolution.  On the other hand, I don't see these forums lit up with others suffering form this issue either and thus, presume this a weird one, or a one-off because everybody else isn't complaining.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Happens occasionally, nothing special in CS5 to cause this. This document cover most of the things you can try:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/320/320318.html
And also renamke your file to xxx.pdf and try to open in Acrobat, then so a save as newfilename.pdf try to open in Illustrator.

  • Does anyone know why i get this error message when installing CS5.1? "your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the mac apple story and identified developers.

I was given this link to re download my programs. https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-5-product-downloads.html
anyone know why i am not getting them to download?

One way to bypass the Gatekeeper is to right or ctrl click on the Installer and choose Open from the Context menu.
Then it will give you that option to run the installer app.
