I can't update iTunes because of error message "iTunes.msi is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes". How can this be resolved. I am using a PC with Windows XP
If you can, uninstall and reinstall itunes..... Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Hope this helps. -
As i double click on the desktop shortcut to open itunes, i get an error message which is the following: 'mymusic/itunes.exe is not a valid win32 application'. I now cannot access itunes or any of my media/music!
Background... I updated to the latest version of itunes, downloaded a few apps and music and re-synced my iPod touch. I then clicked on itunes store, and itunes just closed down and would then not reopen and now repeats the error message everytime.
I have attempted to repair itunes by downloading the setup software again, i have also tried removing itunes from my pc with the intention to re-install all over again, however it wont let me uninstall itunes either!!
Anybody have any suggestions? Can you open iTunes if you go to Program Files\iTunes and double click on iTunes.exe.
If so, you can create a new short cut by right clicking on iTunes.exe and selecting Send to>>Desk top(create short cut) -

That's a Windows PC issue. What is the Mac OS X Lion issue? In other words what are you posting in the Lion forums about?

Need help for icloud photo stream, have activated ps on iphone 4 and set up icloud back up for email, contacts, iwork, and find my ihone. Need to find photos that we thought were being saved/shared as well but evidently not. Found on another search that I may need the icloud control panel so tried to download it but when try to install i get, C:\Users\Downloads\icloudsetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I am using a Toshiba laptop with windows 7, which the system requirements are met. I am new to Apple stuff, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
It suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -
Trying to install Skype click to call and receive the error message, "skypeclicktocall.exe is not a valid Win32 application" XP SP3 32bitSkype V. 7.6.0.105uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. I have a subscription for unlimited outgoing calls and since Skype does not allow importing contact lists from Google, click to call would be very handy.
Windows 8.1 ADK comes with a newer version of USMT (NOT 5.0) and crashes. I learned this today the hard way. I hope Windows 8.0 ADK's loadstate.exe works for restoring to a 8.1 machine.
Yesterday i used Windows Easy Transfer to move from XP to 7, and then re-did the backup in 7 so it would be compatible with 8.1, and it only restores files, not settings.
So i will test USMT 5.0 in this same scenario, because i have 30 machines to change to newer machines with 8.1 -
Gwshlsnd.exe is not a valid Win32 application
For the most part the Groupwise 2014 client has been upgrading on Windows XP and Windows 7 workstations successfully.
However, I have at least one Windows XP computer (with all the authorized updates) that is giving me troubles.
The computer has the GW 2012 client before the upgrade and the GW 2014 client install completes successfully and I am using a jump drive with the installation on it. Note: I've used the same jump drive to install on several Windows XP and Windows 7 workstations with out any issues.
When the user uses their right mouse button and clicks on a file that he wants to attach to a message and then selects "GroupWise recipient" he gets the error message "gwshlsnd.exe is not a valid Win32 application".
This XP is a 32-bit version of Windows XP.
I've tried several things:
1. Upgraded the client to the 2014 version.
2. uninstalled the client, cleaned up the directory (deleting c:\Program Files\Novell directory) and installed the 2014 client as an install (instead of an update)
3. uninstalled the client, disabled all services (using msconfig), rebooted, enabled two services (Plug-n-Play and Windows Installer) and installed the new
client.
I have a feeling for some reason a dll file is not registering correctly, but which?
Perhaps this could be motivation to replace at least this Windows XP computer - ha!
Any suggestions?I would get the CleanIT tool from Messaging architects
https://www.novell.com/communities/c...eanit-groupwis
e-70-80-2012/
It will remove all traces of any older clients and registry settings. Though
all user client customizations not stored in the user DB will be lost.
Then re-install the GroupWise client.

Compaq presario Windows XP ProHi Roy B
The 7.1 just would not install at all, giving the error message above every time. 7.0 was still on my system.
I did a disk clean up (someone said there might be fragments of my attempts to download 7.1 in temp folder that needed to be removed). I then ran a spyware scan and a full Norton system scan (just to be sure that I was 'clean' before attempting again). Then ran the registry mechanic that I just purchased and allowed this to 'fix' anything it found.
Finally I then went back to apple.com and tried another install from scratch - which worked! So...one of the above things worked - can't be certain which, but my guess is that it might have been the reg. mech.
7.1 has been working for a couple of days now... but dreading 7.2 etc...!
Good luck sorting out your probs...

Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application
Hi,
I have downloaded the Database trial 92021Win64_Disk1 and I unpacked the archive using WinRar. When i doubleclick on the setup file I get the following message:Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
What am I doing wrong? I am using WindowsXP Pro. Does this archive has to be burned on a CD in order for the install to work?
Thanks! Thanks for the reply. It is my mistake to assume that windows 2003 server (enterprise edition) is a 64-bit OS. May be it is some other version. Don't forget Microsoft has different versions of windows 2003 server, One of them could be a 64 bit OS. I found out, Installing Oracle 2000 server edition and applying the patch for windows 2003 server as oracle recommended will do the trick. Looks good so far (everything went fine).
Thanks everyone -

I have switched offices and computer. may I still access my old tunes? next, I get an error when trying to download Itunes to my new compuet: c:\DocumentsandSettings\aabugattas\desktop\itunessetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application How can i download it?
In the course of your troubleshooting to date have you worked through the following document?
iTunes: Windows reports that "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application" -
"itunes64setup.exe is not a valid WIN32 application"
That suggests the installer got damaged when being downloaded to the computer that did have internet access.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser (on the computer with internet access):
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -
