Error message Microsoft

After successfully I tunes for several months I can no longer connect. After clicking on the Itunes Icon I get a message that says: I tunes has encountered problems and needs to close, sorry for the inconvenience. It then asks if I wanted to send an error message to microsoft. The only thing that has changed in recent weeks is the installation of a wireless router. I have unplugged it, gone back to the old configuration and still get the message. Any help

Solved. After an hour on phone with Apple Care. Turns out the problem is with Quick Time Player. Had to go to www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html After downloading the itunes worked again. I guess the two are interlinked. If you have similar problem that I had, try to open Quick Time. If you cant and get an error message you probably had same problem I did

    I had Itunes on my PC (Windows Vista, 64-bit) and it worked fine with my Ipod.  I purchased an Ipod nano, and it was not recognized by Itunes and I was instructed to un-install and re-install. After un-installing Itunes, I am unable to reinstall.  I receive the following error message: microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.050727.6195".publickeytoken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b".processorarchitecture="x86". HRESULT: 0x80070424. 
    I am also having trouble with Windows Updates, and receive the same error message: 80070424.  Perhaps the 2 issues are related?
    If anyone is able to help resolve the issue so I can successfully install Itunes, I would greatly appreciate it!

    I ran the sfc /scannow command, and yes the response was:   Windows Resource Protection could not start with the repair service.
    A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
    First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
    Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
    Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
    Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 8000FFFF
    If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
    After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
    Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?

    That generally has to do with data corruption.   Is your data backed up?
    What version of Office do you have?
    What Mac operating system?

    I am running a system that is not quite 6 months old, which is loaded with Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. 
    The error message that I get is as follows: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.  Runtime error!  Program C:\windows\Explorer.exe.  This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the
    application's support team for more information.
    Once I respond to that message, I get a message that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working.  Then I get "Windows Explorer is re-starting"
    I don't know if the next event is related - today, immediately after getting the message above, I got a pop-up that said "An update to Adobe Flash Player is available" - and I am given the option of installing it or not.  Today, I did not install
    the update - although I recall having accepted this update in the past (again, I don't know if the two situations always occur together).
    Is there some help I can be provided to correct this problem?  I have looked at several related topics in this database, but have not found anything that seems to directly relate to my question.

    Package (x86) to check this issue?
    What about to boot the computer in safe mode and Clean Boot to test this issue?

      I have been unable to find any idea how to resolve this.
    Please can anyone describe what they have done to sort this?
    I am using MS Office 2008.
    Turning off the sync between the two calendars was not the answer, as the messages continued. So I have temporarily disabled the sync between iCal/Entourage and my iPad.  This has prevented the error message, but obviously means I must enter diary dates manually on iPad which is the whole point of the sync!
      I haven't found a way to sync between iCal and iPad - this would be a possible work-round. But I'd be so grateful to know how to resolve the sync error.

    I don't associate that one with the type of breakage to the Windows Modules Installer that I was checking for with preisslerk's 80070424, Michelle.
    Doublechecking. Were you getting an HRESULT: 0x80070424 error code on your error message, or some different alphanumeric string? If it was a different alphanumeric string (like say an 0x8007000B), let us know which one you are getting.

    I have new computer with windows 8.1, 64 bit.  My computer recognizes the hp photosmart C6200 (I have c6280) but will not let me download the software for it.  I downloaded the print & scan doctor.  I get all the way to the point where it says it's extracting then that box disappears and a few minutes later the box opens with microsoft visual c++ run time library, program:c:\users\theresa\appdata\local\temp\7zs3cd​e\setup.exe, This application has requested run time to terminate in unusual way.
    Please help - I know the printer is an older model but still works great and others who come to my home are able to use it on their new computers so I would like to to.

    Hello. I understand you are experiencing a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error when installing your printer. I will do my best to assist you with the issue. The first step I implore you to perform is to backup your computer. If a mistake is made when performing some of these troubleshooting steps, Windows might have to be reinstalled automatically. Additionally, a reinstall of Windows will likely be required if the troubleshooting steps, below, do not resolve the issue.     On this page, please click the "SP40669 File Download" under the "See also" section. Once you do this, a patch will download. When finished downloading, double-click it to install it on the computer. Afterward, a level 3 uninstall of the printer software is required. This will remove any spare HP software from the unsuccessful installation attempts. Here are some instructions on performing a level 3 uninstall:
    a) On your keyboard, press the Windows key and the letter "R" key to open the Run windows. In the search bar type %temp% and hit enter.
