Error message: Network connection timed out

Go to download iOS5 on to my iPhone 4 and just as it was about to finish downloading, I get the error message. It's come up many times before when trying to update the phone, but I have just been ignoring it and not bothered with an update.
Using latest version of iTunes
Windows 7
Hope someone can help me \:

  • Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes.  I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7.  i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message.  I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch.  All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.

  • Can't import into MS-Vista/Mcafee-error 3259-"Network connection timed out"

My downloading is working except when importing music into iTunes. I have microsoft vista and use mcafee but get the msg error 3259-"Network connection timed out - help

I too am having the same problem. New computer (Dell Inspiron E1505) and new Nano. I've disabled my firewall access, allowed for full access for iTunes, I remain connected to the internet, I remain connected to iTuens store (I can listen to music, see my account info and even see the purchased songs), but I can't download my songs without getting the error 3259 message network connection timed out.
I contacted Apple/iTunes; they haven't found a solution other than disabling my firewalls, which as I've said I've already done.
I contacted my ISP and they thought it was a version problem. They suggested that I try to download iTunes version 6, but that hasn't worked either. I just hope someone has a solution. I'm about to take back my ipod and forget the whole thing. Good luck to you and wish me luck!

  • Error: The network connection timed out?

    Hi,
Just surfing through iTunes store and 2 out every 3 times I click on something to see it like an album or something I get this error: We can't process your request right now, The Network Connection Timed Out. This is happening a lot when ever I go into the iTunes store and try to click on anything a link or a picture for a link to something it pops up and says the network connection timed out. I ran diagonostics and everything is fine but still keep getting this error a lot. I also checked my McAfee anti virus and iTunes has Full Permissions and all access. So why do I keep getting this error message?

  • 7.6 update leaves message "network connection timed out"

    Hi,
My latest update for 7.6 on iTunes does not allow me to access the Store or copy discs in with track listings or using gracenote. I get a message saying "iTunes could not coonect to the iTunes Store. The network timed out!" I am Windows XP/ SP2 and run Symantec Norton security. I have checked the firewall and iTunes is allowed access. I can access email, browsers and all as normal.
    Can anyone suggest anything else?
    Thanks

I'm having the same problem after updating 7.6. I've tried the following
-Itunes was allowed in my firewall. I turned it off and that didn't help so I turned it back on
    -reset my router and modem
-removed 7.6 and tried various older versions including one from 2005
    -tried suggestions in artcle
-Checked for problems with norton/symantec. I have symantec but no firewall through that program
    -Ran itunes diagnostics-they were fine.
It is very frustrating to not be able to purchase music, load new music from CD's without typing in everything, and upload my podcasts. I'm sure there is a problem that itunes needs to fix.
Please respond if you have other suggetions.

  • Upgrading to 4.2 iphone and ipad error "network connection timed out"

When trying to upgrade both ipad and iphone to 4.2 the download runs then stops with error message "network connection timed out" and says try again later. I have downloaded movies that take over an hour so I know it is not just time. I have trying turning off firewall and virus as well as empting cache and still no results. really believe it has something to do with windows 7 settings. any ideas?

I was having the same problem and after several weeks of technical support they basically gave-up and suggested I try installing Kaspersky KIS 2012 (not yet released, but available on their ftp download site as a "current version").
Anyway, I installed it and now I can update my iOS on my iPhone and iPad.  Voilla!  However, Kaspersky claim that this is not a common problem.  Yeah, right!
If you want to upgrade to KIS v12 (2012) or KAV v12 (2012), then here is how:
    1) Download v12 (2012) from the ftp site here:
    ftp://ftp2.kasperskyftp.com/consumer-products/Current_Versions/KIS2012/
    2) Disconnect from Internet (doh!)
    3) Stop Kaspersky (right click on the "K" in the tool tray and select "Exit")
    4) Uninstall Kaspersky from the Control Panel (Programs / Add-Delete Programs)
    5) Reboot after uninstalling old version
    6) After rebooting, install KIS/KAV v12 (2012)
    7) When it prompts for install key, re-connect to the Internet and enter the key code (usually on the back of the envelope the original installation disk is in).  The key code for earlier versions should work (at least it did for code with KIS 2010, two versions earlier).
    8) Reboot when done
Finally, if this works for you (or anyone else), please post here, since Kaspersky seems to think it is very rare case that it worked for me... ha!

    Hi Robertfrom Denver.
Did you try the solution given, and if yes, did it work?
I have done several "attempted downloads, and see the full file download, typically taking 30 minutes to complete, and then something goes wrong.
I am happy to suspend AV and FW software, but would like to know if it is a good fix or not first?

I am very frustrated. Just got an ipod for xmas and i love it. downloaded a bunch of songs and movies.
now, for whatever reason, i get an error message when i try to go to the Music Store: "network connection timed out. make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active and try again.".
    Other facts
-i don't have any third party firewall, except the XP one which is turned off
-i have full internet connection (both on my home wifi and when i plug in the lan cable)
-i have erased and reloaded the latest i-tunes 6.0 software
-i have shut down and rebooted my machine at least a thousand times
-i have done the change to the windows "hosts" file as was mentioned by another user.
    Can anybody help???
    thanks

You will need to restart from the beginning. Try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed and see if that stops the network timeout.
