Why is i tha I get an error message to update flash player or media plugin when I already have the latest update verison 11,7,700,224 and I am running windows 7 Home Edition?

Who/what is giving you that error message; can you post a screenshot of it?

I have been on the beta program for quite some time. Over the latest updates (probably at least since FF 4), I get a dialog box when I start FF telling me that an update is available even though I have the latest version. If I select the option to go ahead and do the update. It will hang forever; and not connect to the update server. I have noted in my search that others seem to have this problem as well. Additionally, I have this problem on both my work and home computers that are running Windows 7. However, I don't have this issue on my Mac. This is an annoyance; but has been going on for way too long and really needs to be addressed.

Your heading says Adobe Reader and the explanation below says Adobe Flash. Neither of these is shown in your System Details under Plug-ins. Is this the actual computer the question is about?

You can't install any application which requires iOS 4.3 or newer on a first or second generation iPod touch. If you still have a copy of that application compatible with iOS 3.1.3 or 4.2.1, import it into the iTunes library and sync it.

Icloud settings say i need to upgrade iphoto on my macbook, but i already have the latest version.

i have a 4S and macbook pro running together on my network. im able to sync via wifi, and i'm pretty sure my phone is sending things to icloud, but i can't activate photo stream on the macbook. when i try to turn it on in icloud settings, the option is disabled and i get a message saying install the latest version of iphoto. when i try to buy it from the app store, it says i already have the latest version. help?

You'll end up with two copies and only one will have Faces attached.
The external drive is a MyBookLive, which my Mac says is formatted for Mac. It doesn't seem to be creating any issues.
What does Disk Utility report the format as?
As I'm using a MacBook Air that doesn't have an ethernet connection, I have no choice but to import over my wireless network.
A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
My biggest issue at the moment is how do I copy the photos into iPhoto without having to start the process all over again.
Worth a try:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 110 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Look at the back of the iPod. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. The 2nd generation iPod touch is model A1288, and 3rd generation iPod touch is model A1318. If you have a second-generation iPod touch, the last release of iOS is can run is 4.2.1.

Why do I get a message that says something is preventing firefox to update correctly when I have the latest version and it is up to date.

Every now and then I will come back to my computer and see a message saying that something is preventing Firefox from updating correctly, am I sure that I have got the latest version.
Included in the message box is a link to www.firefox.com, when I click on the link I get a page with various downloads and a message saying that my Firefox is up to date.

This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder to remove the file(s) that cause the problem.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

All of a sudden I can't open my Pages files. A dialog box comes up that tells me that I need the latest version of Pages
in order to open the file. The latest version offered in the App Store is 5.2.2 - but this is what I already have - take a look

you don't need a cc subscription to use the purchased copy.
download the installation file and use your serial number to activate when given the licensing option during installation. you should install 5.7 instead of installing 5.0 and updating.
