Error message on first time installation of iTunes 10.2.2

Trying to install iTunes 10.2.2. on a laptop that has never has iTunes. I get error message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact you support personnel or package vendor". It goes on to install QuickTime and iTunes but neither will run as their .exe files seem to be missing. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing (4 times), running as administrator, disabling anti-virus and firewalls but no success. Any further offers? Thank you.

You can try the following:
1. Use the Control panel > software uninstall > to remove Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, and iTunes if they are there.
2. Search on the internet for the MS Installer Cleanup Utility (it's supposed to be discontinued but you can still down load it elsewhere - msicuu.exe - and install it.
3. Run the Cleanup utility as an administrator and look in the list of programs to see if any of the above programs are still listed. If so, uninstall them with the utility. (Be careful! Don't select all the programs in the list you get - that deletes all installed programs. Only do the Apple ones listed above)
4. Open cmd.exe as an administrator. Type "netsh winsock reset" and press enter.
5. Reboot
6. Download a fresh copy of iTunes 10.5 from www.itunes.com and install.
7. If all this works, you can uninstall the Install Cleanup Utility if you like.
Hope it works.

First, if you've moved the iPhoto library to an external drive, make sure that drive is mounted by opening it in the Finder.
The issue can be caused by sharing the photo library on a network (against Apple's advice) or by opening it in more than one local user account at the same time. You may be able to clear the error by logging out or restarting the computer. If not, do as follows.
Quit iPhoto if it's running, locally or on any file-sharing client. Select the iPhoto Library in the Finder. Usually it's in the Pictures folder, but you may have moved it somewhere else. Right-click or control-click the library icon and select
              Show Package Contents
from the popup menu. In the folder that opens, navigate to
    Database/apdb/lockfile.pid
and move that file, if it exists, to the Trash. Close the Finder window.

  • Help I upgraded to 6 OS and everything was working ok until yesterday and now it is giving me error message that I cannot connect to iTunes. I tried the reset thing and changing the date but still not working.

Help I have an iPad 2 and recently had to upgrade to 6 OS. All was well until yesterday when I received N error message that I cannot connect to iTunes.  I tried the reset and changing the date and neither worked. Does anyone have another solution that works?  I see others are having the same problem.

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

I get error message -42408 when trying to download itunes update 11.0.2 and I therefore can not update to that latest version.  What can I do?

    Hey there davidgor2!
I have found an article that should help you resolve this issue with updating your iTunes. The article can be found here:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
and the specific part of the article you will want to look at first is right here:
    "Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
    Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • Error Message 3 Quick Time failed to install

I have tried every way I know possible to download iTunes. I have loaded Quicktime stand alone, I have loaded iTunes to my hard drive and tried to start the install from there and not the internet. I have turned off all firewalls and virus/spyware software. I continue to get Error Message 3, Quick Time failed to install. I am very frustrated with this problem as well as the run around I'm getting from Apple. I can't even update my iPod. I thought my iPod purchase was going to be great. But after the short battery life issue and now the software issue. I am starting to re-think my purchase. Does anyone have a solution to the software problem that works??? Apple even tried to blame the problem on my computer. I see from all the people that have this problem in this forum it is not my computer. Please help if you can...Thanks, M

Thank you for clarify I'm supposed to read the ENTIRE article. I thought I was just supposed to read the title and magically everything will fix itself. I appreciate you taking the time to help me however I do not appreciate the caps and the way you have addressed the situation. If you are not going to kindly help people/make suggestions just don't try! And for the record my conclusions are not illogical, the iOS7 thing is on the website in small font (which I got by reading the ENTIRE thing) and you should really find a new hobby because your socialization skills need some help! • Error 1097 the first time calling LinearFit.vi using the bisquare fit method

When I start LabView (8.2) and run a certain vi, I get Error 1097 the first time I call LinearFit.vi and the fit method is "Bisquare".  If I try calling LinearFit.vi again, it works fine (no error).  If the method is "Least Square" or "Least Absolute Residual", I don't get the error ever.  Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong, or if I'm not doing anything wrong, how to get around this annoying error?
I just tried creating a new vi with nothing but the LinearFit.vi in it, and the error occurs the first two times I run the vi, but not on subsequent attempts.  I've attached the simple vi to this message.

    Hi Dan,
I don't know how to check this except to compare the BD. The path to the Linear Fit.vi is "..\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\Analysis\6fits.llb\Linear Fit.vi" and the BD look like this:
