It says I have a previous version installed but I only have CS5.1. Help

Didn't get the issue ....can you explain in more details what is the exact error message (screen shot if possible) ? what is the OS ?

I just purchased the upgrade from Photoshop CS5 to CS6 as a download. I downloaded the download manager as instructed, and installed it. I then downloaded the CS6 upgrade. But when I went to install it, it asked for my serial number, which I (double-checked and) provided. It gave me a message saying that although it is a valid serial number, there is no product available that matches that serial number. I don't understand. Help?

You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Error message in Photoshop CS6 with text

I recently installed CS6 and since then I get an error message when I want to use text: "could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized.
Restarting CS6 doesn't help...

Have you installed any new fonts on your system recently? Through a little searching, a corrupt font seems to be the first warning light.

'No Disk' error message on Photoshop startup

Recently I have been receieving the following error message when Photoshop CS6 x64 srtarts up on my Windows 7 machine. Ps resides on my SSD.
I don't always get the message but when I press X, Cancel, Try Again, or Continue the message repeats until finally Ps starts. I'm not sure what drive \Device\Harddisk3\Dr3 is supposed to mean. Does anyone have a clue what Ps is complaining about?

I realize this is a mighty old thread, but I've recently had the same issue with Illustrator CSS 2014, and this is the only thread I could google that dealt with it.
I scratched my head for a while on this, but I think I figured out the issue. At least I think I figured it out on my end. The error comes from the "recently opened" menu as far as I can tell. I had an old external hard-drive that I was browsing some old work on. I unplugged it when done and continued to go along with my newer work the next day. When I attempted to save my newer work in Illustrator, I got the "no disk" message several times, but powered through it with "try again" till it saved.
I'm thinking the error is just the system bumping the file that I had recently opened and now cannot locate slowly down and eventually off the "recently opened" menu. Not sure why Windows is smart enough to bypass this error sometimes and not others with most portable drives, but perhaps its an issue with how old this drive was, or perhaps because I did not properly eject the drive. Networked drives being connected and not connected may cause a similar issue. Not sure.

Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

Error message in Bridge CS6 -- how to fix?

I'm getting an error message in Bridge CS6.
I'm trying to create a Journal with Filmstrip with 42 items. The creation process stops after several photos -- 32 last time -- and I get an error messgae saying "Gallery creation stopped because of unknown error - sorry."
Any idea how to troubleshoot this?

While having very less experience with Web Gallery I used Bridge CC (same output module as CS6) to create one with 42 files in a journal with filmstrip without problems
The preview only is capable of showing 20 max but saving the file to my drive I had no problem viewing it in my browser with all 42 files.
I have a Mac with OSX 10.8 and Bridge CC
Can you provide more details about your set up?

Are all the files able t pen and view in PS, are they not to big, what file type and size are you using?

They're not available because photoshop.com is dead and gone, and any photos there are moved to revel, which you can't access through PSE versions prior to PSE 11. You should have received a bunch of emails about this back when it was happening.

Photoshop.com is no longer available. The service transferred to Revel.
Ignore the sign-in altogether.
You may need to turn off Sync in Organizer prefs if you have it activated.

Hi Terence. I solved my problem. Apparently a 9.5.1 version of iPhoto was dowloaded, backed up on Ext Drive then deleted from the Mac HD...Leaving the old version 9.4.3 still resident on the Mac HD.

I am unable to install my Photoshop CS6 upgrade because the upgrade does not recognize a qualifying product on my system. When it's getting ready to download, after I put in my seriel number it asks me to sign in however when I push the button I get a window that says "Adobe Application Manager has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. i have photoshop cs5 upgrade installed on a windows 7 pc. can i purchase photoshop cs6 upgrade from adobe and install it on a windows 8.1 windows pc.this is important because i do not want to purchase a new pc and then find i cannot purchase and install photoshop cs6 onto it.

Inasmuch as you are allowed to purchase a perpetual license for Photoshop CS6, there's no technical reason you can't install it on Windows 8. When an upgrade installation asks about the prior product, you need only give it the serial number of your Photoshop CS5 license.
