Error message on the start up
I have an old IPOD classic. It is fully charged and I have reset it. However, after the apple logo appears, I get the following message www.apple.com/support/ipod. It then shuts down. I cannot get it to sync with my computer to update the shoftware and the unit is inoperable.
Any ideas?

Need to fix it urgently for my work.
InDesign CS6 Windows version.
I have clicked on “update” button for the Adobe products (design suite, I think) and it has completed the update this morning.
When I tried to start up InDesign, it gave me an error message at “loading short-cut” part (displayed at the startup in Indesign window).
The message said:
InDesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to c,ose. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
I tried to find the short-cut folder and delete them in the programme files but cannot locate those. Please let me know what is causing it and also how I can fix them. It was working fine until the update.In order to be useful we need the exact message you see in the splash screen before it fails, and the exact error message at failure, and even then it may not help much on Windows.
Try rebooting the computer and see if it changes, and also see Replace Your Preferences. If it still isn't working after that, I'd be inclined to use System Restore to roll back to the day before the updates. -
Error message at the start of iPhoto?
"iPhoto has detected inconsistencies in your library, click repair to avoid any further problems."
I click repair every time and nothing every repairs? I've tried another maneuver as well about holding down the function key and one of the "F" buttons (can't remember exactly) to fix the entire library. I still am getting the "inconsistencies" error message. ANy fixes, anyone?Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I have just updated itunes on my pc (windows XP) to the latest version. When I try to open it I get an error message saying the application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found< Have tried reinstalling with no luck. Any ideas?

Running on Windows XP SP3. No problem whatsoever before upgrading to 27. Sending this from Chrome as I cannot open Firefox at all.Thanks jschaer2000: after starting it once in safe mode, I closed Mozilla and tried several restarts in normal mode. So far, all worked:-)

Still the automatic update process bothers me: it took me several days to discover the reason to the malfunction, since when I removed the problematic version from Add and Remove Programs, I didn't pay attention at first that it was another version, not v26 which I installed from my folder.
In addition, I like to save the installation files before I run new programs and if I didn't have v26 exe file, I couldn't have operated Mozilla at all. Not that it was fun to remove and install again each time v27 didn't react, but it was better than nothing, I still prefer Mozilla over its competition. -
Hi I have a question about shooting in Raw with my Canon EOS 6d.
I'm in the process of learning photography and my goal was to start shooting in raw.
I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
and
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.
ThanksClick here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Whenever I try to sync my iPod Touch 5th gen with iTunes I get an error message saying "The iPod "*****" could not be synced because the sync session failed to start". Is there any way I can fix this?
B-rock, thanks for posting the above. I actually have the same issue, running Windows XP and I don't have that backup location, \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\. When I go to Documents and Settings\(username)\ there's a AppData folder followed by:\LocalLow\DataMngr\ .
I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message. I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?

try updating your iphone over wi-fi before connecting to your itunes

I've been getting this error message Lightroom cannot start because it cannot create files in the temporary file location “/var/folders/lK/lKbPbq2OF0aPCbMnDc erE TI/-Tmp-”
I've also been getting others errors about cannot create or modify temporary files when trying to install other programs. Also some of my documents on my computer will not open and crash.
Any help would be helpful.

I have all of my songs on an external hard drive. It was working fine with iTunes; now when I click on a song, I get an error message that the song cannot be located. What happended and more importantly, how can I fix this?

So frustrating! I open the photo. Edit by cropping, adjusting color, etc. It's perfect. I click DONE and move on to the next. When I come back, the first photo is gone. I can see it in the album but cannot open it. When I look at the file information, it shows zero KB. If I move it to the desktop and try to open it, the error message says the file is empty. I can revert to original and there it is. Edit again, and again it disappears. What am I doing wrong? I am using iPhoto 09
You shooting with a Nikon? We've seen a few examples of this bug with Nikons on 09 and 10.6, with no solution except to upgrade.
