"Radar signals have been cleared on channel 136" What does this mean?

Part of the new FCC requirements for the 802.11a spectrum is the need to identify and avoid radar signals that could pose a threat to air travel. What you are seeing is that the channel is clearing of radar traffic that the system was seeing on that specific channel. This piece of the code is related to 802.11h, the standard requiring radar avoidance in the US and Europe. It shouldn't be a worry if it has cleared.

  • WLC Syslog error message

    Hi all,
I get a lot of the following syslog error messages from 3 of my 4 WLCs (two WiSMs).
    Error message:
    ethoip.c:342 ETHOIP-3-PKT_RECV_ERROR
I searched at cisco.com and I found the information to use the bug toolkit or open a tac case, but I didn't find a bug or any further information related to that problem.
I can not even recognize any differences in the WLC configs - for centralize configuration I use an WCS.
    WiSM Software version: 5.0.148.0
    WCS Software vesion: 5.0.56.0
Does anyone of you had the same problem?
    Thank you for all information!
    Best regards
    Peter

    Hi dennischolmes,
after your post I checked the mobility group configuration on all four controllers, and indeed, there was a inconsitency in the configuration. The WCS couldn't see the mismatch, because the settings between the WCS and the controllers were the same. As I looked on the controllers web pages i saw, that different mobility group memebers with various mobility group names were configured on every single controller, maybe caused by applying a new controller template, where i changed the mobility group name.
I started from scratch configuring the mobility groups and the syslog error messages were stopping.
    Thank you very much!

  • WLC 4404 error message

    Dears,
we have a wireless lan controller 4404 with LDAP authentication ...
first, we are getting this error message on the WLC:
apfMsConnTask_0: Jul 02 13:27:34.180: %APF-3-CHECK_SUPP_RATES_FAILED: apf_utils.c:291 Could not check supported rates. Missing Supported Rate. Length :0. Mobile MAC: 78:e4:00:07:dd:10.
second, our issue is when you open a browser, and after you enter the credentials for the username and password, it keeps redirecting to the virtual IP server "1.1.1.1" and never responds with the requested page or the "authentication succeeded" popup. however, when you open a new tab on the same browser, it connects you to the internet...
please advise any recommended procedures or solutions that can be done to solve this issue.
    thanks in advance ...
    regards,

    hi Scott,
    thanks for the reply...
that means its ok that the client keeps redirecting on the VIP set on the WLC, if its the function of the vip as you have said ?
and regarding the error message, it is the same client that is connecting to the webauth !!
please provide me with any ideas to solve this issue if anything came up to your mind
may updating the browser or using another solve this, and will upgrading the WLC to newer version lead us to not seeing this message and get rid of this issue ??

  • Cisco ISE 1.2.1 - "12929 NAS sends RADIUS accounting update messages too frequently" error message

    Hello,
Running ISE 1.2.1 Patch 1, we get following error message: "12929 NAS sends RADIUS accounting update messages too frequently" on all NAS Devices (i.e. C-4500s running SPA.03.04.00.SG.151-2.SG.bin).
There was a previous post on this forum (RE: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11894006/ise-12-wlc-5508-nas-sends-radius-accounting-update-messages-too-frequently) that stated that the "aaa accounting update newinfo" command doesn't solve this problem even though bug CSCuh01760 "Misconfigured NAS criteria needs to be changed" is resolved in ISE 1.2.1 as per the release notes.
Could you please advise us on that to do now? Thank you.

  • ACS 5.1 Error Message Help

    All
Currently running 4 ACS 5.1 servers to load balance our 802.1x requests, but am getting an error message which is a bit unhelpful in terms of details.
    The error message is
11051 RADIUS packet contains invalid state attribute
and only seems to occur on one port port on one particular switch....not quite sure what is causing this for this port as all the other ports on the same switch are not having any issues.
    The troubleshooting says
    Description
The state attribute in the RADIUS packet did not match any active session.
    Resolution Steps
Do the the following: Check the network device or AAA Client for hardware problems or known RADIUS compatibility issues ; Check the network that connects the device to ACS for hardware problems.
The network device is set up the sames as at least 50 other switches in ACS.
The switch port is nominally designated as being for a client PC.
Anyone have any ideas what is causing this error.

I was thinking, maybe somebody found the solution?
In my case it’s happening only on WLC with version 4.2.130.0 (no problem on version 6.0.196.0).

    #     Error Message    AUTHMGR-4-UNAUTH_MOVE, MSGDEF_LIMIT_MEDIUM: [chars] MAC address
         ([enet]) from [chars] to [chars]
Explanation    There was an authenticated move on the old IDB. The first [chars] is slow or fast, the second [chars] is the source interface name, the third [chars] is the destination interface name, and [enet] is the MAC address.
Recommended Action    No action is required.
Does anyone knows the meaning of these messages on the 5760 WLC? These clients are mounted in warehouse stackers, moving in the wharehouse with speeds between 10 and 40 Km/hour and sometimes we have complains of roaming issues. Are this messages related with roaming issues?
    Kind regards,
    Vasco

    Hi Vasco,
These messages are related to roaming and it's an expected behaviour.
%AUTHMGR-4-UNAUTH_MOVE is expected to occur when a mac address is moved to another interface by reconnecting network devices.
    Thanks,
    Ashish

  • I am trying to get an AP to associate with a wireless Controller but keep getting this error message (%CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG:Could not resovle CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTRPLLER)

I am trying to get an AP to associate with a wireless Controller but keep getting this error message (%CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG:Could not resovle CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTRPLLER)
I can ping through to the WLC and the AP.

Thanks a lot Loe for the Feedback. The issue was not my configuration but rather the type of Wireless LAN controller I have, the WLC does not support my  AP's. I have a Cisco 520 series WLC and got to know they only work with the 500 series AP's. my AP's are 1130 series meaning i have to get another controller or change the APs.
    thanks once again..

  • Very strange errors on newest WLC version (4.1.171.0)

    Hello,
I have just finished upgrading my WLC 4404's to the newest version (bootloader and all), and am running into a series of strange errors.
The initial upgrade occured on May 8th, and ever since then my WCS (4.0.97.0) has been swarmed with minor security errors related to the access points.
I have 129 APs in my network, and so far about 60 have shown up with these errors.
    The errors state:
"Client '<MAC1>' which was associated with AP '<MAC2>', interface '1' is excluded. The reason code is '1(802.11 Association failed repeatedly)'".
    and
"Client '<MAC1>' which was associated with AP '<MAC2>', interface '1' is excluded. The reason code is '3(802.1X Authentication failed 3 times.)'"
I have tested some of the APs listed and am having no trouble associating or authenticating (though I have yet to test them all).
The strange thing is, <MAC1> on both error message types is actually my AP's MAC addresses, whereas <MAC2> is the Client's MAC (as far as I know). So it looks like the Mac's are being listed in the wrong order. I checked the caveat's on the release notes for this version but found nothing on this apparent bug.
I know it seems like a typical authentication error (with the odd MAC placements as the exception), but these just started coming up after the upgrade - mainly wondering if that's just coincidence or a bug in the version?
Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

    To Ankur,
It's more than 2 clients, seems to be just random people trying to connect as far as I can tell - random APs also.
Unfortunately I can't confirm the security settings on the client laptops as they are not supplied by the education facility I work at (they're personal computers). I imagine it is possible that it could be a client misconfiguration problem.. we have just started a new term so there's a good possibility alot of new laptops are on campus. I'll have to look into it.
    To Eric,
The AP's are the same software version as the WLC's, but they are on different Boot versions (since 4.1.171.0 the software and boot images are on different files). I loaded the new boot image this morning on the controllers but it doesn't look like it pushed through to the APs..do you think that could be the cause of the WCS thinking the AP's are clients?
The AP's boot image is still only 2.1.78.0 on all the AP's I looked at, are these supposed to update?
    Thanks for the replies guys.

  • WCS Error when adding WLC

We have successfully been managing all our WLC's via WCS. Last week one of the 6500 WiSM Controllers stopped responding to config refreshes from the WCS. When re-freshing the WCS config from the controller got the error message - failed (see logs). Removed controller from WCS and re-added - now get different error - see attachment.
    WCS version is 4.2.97
    WLC version is 4.2.112
    Doco says they are compatible.
WCS is successfully managing other WLC's on the same code.
    Can any one help?

What I would do next is to go to the WLC that is having the issue. Delete all the community strings and recreate it. Make sure that you allow the network that the WLC is on. Also, you should change your RW from private..... it's like the first and default snmp RW string that tools use. Along with public as the RO.

  • WiSM error message : Message: CPU Receive Multicast Queue is full on Controller

    Hi,
I heve several WiSM modules, the version is 7.0.220.0. Each of WiSM receive the following error message : CPU Receive Multicast Queue is full on Controller. I searched the bug toolkit, some old version of WLC hit this bug, but not affect our version.. Please help to mention me how to debug this error.
    Best Regards,

    Multicast Queue Depth
The multicast queue depth is 512 packets on all controller platforms. However, the following message might appear on 2106 controllers: “Rx Multicast Queue is full on Controller.” This message does not appear on 4400 series controllers because the 4400 NPU filters ARP packets while all forwarding (multicast or otherwise) and multicast replication are done in the software on the 2106.
This message appears when too many multicast messages are sent to the CPU. In controller software releases prior to 5.1, multicast, CDP, and ARP packets share the same queue. However, in software releases 5.1 and later, these packets are separated into different queues. There are currently no controller commands that can be entered to determine if the multicast receive queue is full. When the queue is full, some packets are randomly discarded.
Do you have a lot of clients using multicast ?

  • Windows Vista: Ipod Error Message, no longer read by PCs

    Hello,
I have a 5th generation black ipod video with 30GB of memory.
The other day I hooked it up to my laptop (Toshiba, 4 months old) that it's been functioning on with no problems whatsoever. This weird error message flashed twice about it not being able to sync because of some software problem.
Eversince then, the only thing I can charge my ipod on is the family treadmill in the basement (~_~) as no other computer in the house recognizes it. I can't even charge it through the wall sockets, either.
I have changed the ipod cord, still no luck. I've also reset the device about 3 or 4 times and uninstalled, restarted the laptop then reinstalled itunes. I would like to reset it back to factory settings but that's impossible as computers/laptops don't pick it up. I live very far from a Mac store...
What's a girl to do? I can't live without my Busta Rhymes and Wu-Tang Clan!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Error message into a Variable.

    Dear users,
I have a rather usual (unusual from the weekend beers for me though!!) query which I can't figure out a proper way to implement.
    My requirement is like this:
I have a message class in which I want to define a text 'Employee number & not found'.
I want to use this in the program, but not to raise this error. Instead, I want to move this error message with the Employee number into a Character(200) variable.
So instead of using MESSAGE e0xx(messageclass) USING employee number, I would like to move the error text into a variable which looks like:
lv_text = e0xx(messageclass) USING '1234'   which stores the text 'Employee number 1234 not found' in lv_text.
    How would I acheive it??
    Thanks, V!

    Try tis way
    message e999(00) with i_emp-empno into lv_text.
press f1 in message will provide you more details

I can't load any music because iTunes doesn't see my iPod and an error message pops up that reads like this: "iTunes: iTunes.exe corrupt file. The file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes is corrupt and unredable. Please run the checkdisk utility." I've tried everything, reinstalling iTunes, different versions, reinstalling OS, resetting iPod, even on another computer, same problem. Other than that, the iPod works normally, it's just lacking music..
and why is there no email adress from apple for service qustions? 10x

I still don't get it, how can I put it in disk mode if I CANNOT see the iPod in iTunes..?
Did you read the document i linked you to? here's another link to it:

whereabouts in that procedure in that document (that you get to by clicking that link) does it say that you have to connect it to iTunes to put it into disk mode?
