Error message/ saving to dvd

I have made a movie in iMovie and saved it onto a DVD. But when I try to load the DVD back on my computer, I keep getting the following error message:
The project could not be opened, because the disk is full, the folder is locked, or the folder permission are incorrect.
If the project is on a CD-ROM, network server, or locked disk, the n copy it to your hard drive before opening it.
If the project is already on your hard disk, then the disk may be completely full, or you may not have permission to modify that folder. Correct the problem and try again.
Does anyone know why I'm getting this error message?

yes, that's where i'm stuck... if you ever find out why it's doing that- please let me know- i have made other discs without a problem but there's just one that's creating this mess for me. if I had to take a wild guess, i think it has to do with the movie file size- the one i'm having problems with is right around the limit of the dvd...

TS1436 keep getting the error message saying " cd/dvd software not found". How do I fix this!?

When trying to burn my playlist, I keep getting error message saying cd/dvd software not found.. I've tried uninstalling and installing itunes over and over.. and I still get the same message . I can burn in Windows media player but not in itunes. Please help!

Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.)

Error Message When Importing DVD

I used PQDVD to copy several DVDs and have them along with all of my music files stored to an external hard drive.
I have never had an issue adding files to iTunes before, but now I am getting the following error message:
"There is not enough room on "HPNOTEBOOK" to copy all of the requested files. iTunes will copy as many files as possible."
The strange thing is, there is 16gb of free space on my "C" drive and 217gb on my "E" drive.
Does anyone out there have a clue as to how to solve this issue?

I have answered my own question!
I dug a little deeper, and found that even though I had saved all of my files to my "E" drive, it was still storing the music, videos, etc. on my "C" drives when I added them to my iTunes! I didn't realize this until my free space went from 16gb to 14gb in the time it took for me to post my question!
I have changed the setting so that the files are now being stored and accessed from my "E" drive only!

Error message when burning dvd

I have a flat panel 17" iMac with a superdrive. I have recently tried to back-up data onto a dvd. When I hit the burn button I soon get an error message. When I eject the dvd and put it back in to play nothing happens and the dvd is ejected only when I open iTunes. On a third and forth attempt the dvd gets spit out without any burn attempt.
Strangely, the first dvd I put in that was not readable on my machine I put in a Windows machine, which appears to read the dvd and I see the folders that I tried to burn, but obviously cannot open the files because it is a Windows machine.
I have read the discussions and dvd issues seem to be rife. I thought I had applecare but it appears it hasn't been registered and this issue is being addressed with apple. So I have not managed as yet to get any apple support.
Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

PS: The reason for the back-ups is that I am soon going to upgrade to Tiger. I see from discussions that issues about dvds are rife.

I didn't note the message I'm afraid. However I have just tried to burn a dvd again and got the message 'An error occurred while burning the disc. This disc cannot be used.' I have tried the burn with two different dvds and I don't think the discs are the wrong ones. One was DVD-RW and the other was DVD-R. I recall that on another occasion there was an error number, which might have been 303, but I can't be sure of that figure.
Whilst on burning to disc, I want to make an image of a folder. I follow the instructions of navigating to the folder and click on it but the resulting image is only of the folder and not its contents. Am I doing something wrong here too?

Error message when burning DVDs

Hi, I've been burning DVDs on my computer for over a year. However I'm now getting the following error message:
sense key = medium error
sense code = 0 x 57
Unable to recover table of contents.
I've tried documents and video and a couple of different blank DVD brands...Is it stuffed or fixable. FYI the cd burner is working fine and its reading DVDs Ok as well.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I ran the Onyx on both my machines and still have the same problems.
The PB 1.25 whirls and spits the discs out (any disc).
The iMac 800 now has a new error code since running Onyx.
0x80020022 instead of 0x8002006e
The message reads "communication to the disc drive failed."
I'm going to try one last thing with the iMac. That is using those expensive Apple-made and approved DVD's. I'm using Maxell DVD-RW. Never had a problem with them on the PB, never used them on the iMac. I'm off to the dealer... I'm buying an external DVD burner for the PB- $200 vs. $600... it's a no brainer, just none of the convenience... best, Edward

First, try a different batch of recordable DVDs. If you still have problems, you may want to make an appointment at the genius bar and have it checked. The drive may be failing.

1771 error message when burning dvd

I upgraded to the newest itunes and now when i try to burn a dvd i get a 1771 error message Had no problem just before the upgrade. Is there a way to fix this or a way to go back to the old version Please help

Getting error message when burning DVD

I keep getting an error message when I try to burn my DVD in iDVD 08. I have imported the movie in quicktime format from iMovie HD and everything works fine until I go to burn the project. I renders everything else but when it get to the movie it has an error and cancels the burn.

Suggestion: Not a bad idea to test the disc image with apple's dvd player app prior to burning.

IMac Error Message for CD/DVDs

I all of a sudden can no longer burn DVD/CDs. What I was specifically was trying to do was put pictures on a DVD which I've done dozens of times. I keep getting the same error message pop up right after I hit "burn" that says "This disc can't be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x80020000)."
Does anyone know what is wrong and/or how to fix this? THANKS!

I do have a blu-ray burner, and i was creating a image, the error came up during the transcode. I have 12gb memory - what do you mean by tons ? is 12 enough.
I am working with avchd 1920x1080, that i have successfully used before.
I would then intend to burn the iso file afterwards, so the error is purely in encore, not relevant to burner as such
I did actually go the AME route, then import into encore and it worked fine, so it appears the transcoding in encore is the issue.
It would be helpful offcourse if the error message gave more info or what stage it was at at the time of the error.

Well after a couple hours front in my lap, I solved the problem, only I format the HDD with a Windows Vista OEM and install it, after reboot with the cd/dvd recovery and Woala..!!!! I install the Windows Vista from Recovery CD/DVD I think the problem is in the partition because my HDD say 80 GB but with the CD in the partion show almos 2 HDD.
Any way the important is I can resolved the problem.

Error message saving in PSE 6

Saving a PSE 7 File an error message came up "could not save (filename blala) because the documetn exceeds the 2.00G limit for saving Photoshop files" Does anyone know how to fix this? I worked 4 hours on this scrapbook page and need to save it.

Interesting -- that 2 GB limit isn't documented in the User Guide. This tech note

documents the maximum pixel dimensions of an image to be 30,000 x 30,000, but doesn't mention a byte-size limit of saved files. A PSD that large could take up to 24 bits per pixel (3 bytes), or 2.5 GB per layer. I believe that PSD format implements some kind of lossless compression, so that graphic images with many adjacent pixels of the same color would take much less space. That's probably why after you flattened the image, it took less than 2 GB and you were able to save it (each layer was less than 2 GB but taken together they summed up to mmore than 2 GB).

One User gets error Message saving an Incident, another user with the same rigthts not

We have a user sometimes getting an error message (see beyond) when saving an Incdient eg. only modified the descrition field. The user is able to create, update and resolve all other incidents. The user also may have changed this incident before.
When we use an other user with the same rigths, this user is allowed to modify the description field (and others)
We tested: The behavoir does not change for the first user, after the second user changed something.
It's not the workflow for the first assigned to date
No other user tries to use this incidents
We have a custom field, but it is not used in this case (so I know Romans SQL

My Matshita Optical drive gives me error messages that burning DVD's is NOT supported ?

I record and burn audio weekly. I dried burning DVD projects and i get the repeated error message the the drive does not support DVD burning.
Same result trying to burn from the Finder or Disk Utility. Anyone have a work around?

Do you get this error message with all current burn attempts, or simply with your most recent project?
If not, a PRAM reset has been known to be helpful.
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
