Whenever it turn the laptop on, an error message comes up
Saying:

Could not link picture but this happens everytime I start the laptop.
Any advice/ recommendations that anyone could offer would be great.
Thanks.

Now whenever I turn the Laptop on, that screen does not pop up, just gets stuck on the toshiba boot up screen and the whirring noises inside the Laptop are getting louder and louder, close to a grinding sound.
Any information on this would be a real help, thanks

Because I use a german Windows version here is the error message in german:
"Es befindet sich kein Datenträger im Laufwerk. Legen Sie einen Datenträger in Laufwerk \Device\Harddisk7\DR7 ein."
I try this message in english:
"There is no disk in the drive. Insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk7\DR7" -> "Cancel", "Retry" or "Continue".
No matter what I click to open the media library and it seems everything to work. Music can be accessed device can be synct.
Has anyone any idea how I can fix this error?
Thank you and greetings from Germany
    Marcus

I just started running into this error, too.
I'm running 8.2.1.6 on a Windows Vista Premium 64-bit OS. Plenty of speed, RAM, very fast capable machine.
I am running my iTunes library off of an external hard disk. Could that be the issue, it's just not ready fast enough when iTunes launches?
Just thought I'd post in case it helps answer the issue.
    Thanks

  • Error Message linked to satellite ISP?

    Hi,
So glad to have found this forum, as I am very frustrated.
I live in a rural area, and recently went into contract with a satellite ISP. It's hughes net, actually, and since having done so, I'm having trouble with uploading my sites to .mac.
When I click "publish", it begins to log in to my mac account, then it uploads the start page of my first site (I have two) and then, I get this message: "Error - shapeimage_2.png" and it doesn't finish uploading.
I have tried to take all the photos off my site, I have tried deleting all the new info since my last good upload - I have done almost everything I can think of. My iweb has gone from publishing without issue when I first started using it last fall, to publishing only if there are no other programs open, and I'm not even breathing close to it. So tempermental lately! And now, with this new satellite, (which is a hundred times faster than the dial-up we were using) it won't finish publishing.
I did notice that, somehow, the start page on my first site, online, was update with my changes. But nothing else. The blog which I updated at the same time, was not uploaded, so it seems that it did put the start page up, but didn't update the rest of the site, once it gave me the error message. It does not update the start page of my second site, at all.
Can anyone help? I'm really in a pinch, as I need to update my sites and get them current. If it's connected to the satellite internet, how do I get around it, so I can continue my sites?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your input, QTK, but yeah, this is a totally unacceptable option for me. I don't have any other place to upload this website - I work from home, don't even know of any public place (nor friend/relative/neighbor) using macs in my area, except for some schools and they aren't using iWeb, according to my IT guy. I have a hard time believing apple is so far behind the times, they can't figure out something to bridge the gap...especially since broadband satellite isn't a brand-spanking new idea. It would have been nice to have been able to read a warning or something, before I paid for the yearly subscription to .mac.
I've narrowed it down to a "network" problem, after consulting the apple help people. Network = Broadband satellite connection, I'm assuming. It would be helpful to know what "shapeimage_2" is on my site, but I haven't seen anything to lead me to believe that I can get that information. I guess it doesn't matter, since it's all going back to the connection.
I am really ****** about this. I had no reason to think that of all my connections in my house and what not, this one dinky website program would be the thing that wouldn't mesh with my apparently alien satellite ISP. If I'm able to figure anything out about this - which I'm not expecting to, because it seems I've tapped all the apple resources on this gig - I'll come back and post the solution.

  • 32bit Windows 7 and error message shown on Satellite T series

Help needed for this computer dummy.
I started to install 64 bit windows 7 then clicked cancel midway through, after I realised that perhaps this might require too much RAM.
Now getting persistent error message (F3- F200-0002). What should I do? (need explicit instructions as relatively inept)

It is really stupid situation now.
As far as I know this notebook has no optical disc drive so for OS installation you must try to use HDD image.
Try again to install it using F8 at start-up.
If this will not work I am afraid you have destroyed recovery image and only solution for you is to order new one under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
You can install it if you connect external USB optical disc drive.

  • Multiple Error Messages, starting With 500 null Error

I've been experiencing multiple error messages with
ColdFusion 7.0 on Ubuntu Linux/Apache2 for the past several days,
starting with the 500 null error (see
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=f9e312a2),
which ocurred on only part of the site (a set of forms requiring
remote login). Now, the following errors are appearing on various
CF forms: "An I/O error while manipulating the sort index" and "An
exception occurred when setting up mail server parameters" and
finally, "No space left on device." All these errors are occurring
on add/edit forms and cffile upload forms that were working fine a
few hours ago and that haven't been changed.
Right now, I'm replacing the license.properties file to deal
with the 500 null error. My question is, has anyone else
experienced this smattering of other error messages in conjunction
with the 500 null error? Or fast on the heels of it? What's the
deal with the 500 null error, anyway? Has Adobe made any progress
    with this issue?

Okay, this is a followup to my previous post (
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=143&threadid=1165765&en terthread=y).
Replacing the license.properties file isn't sufficient in
addressing the 500 null error. We are running Ubuntu Linux. I
understand that I need to replace jvm 1.5 with jvm 1.4.2. I'm
honestly not sure how to detect on Linux which version of jvm is
running or how to make sure that version 1.4.2 is what is running
when we reinstall ColdFusion. If someone could help me with this,
I'd appreciate it. The 500 null error is eating my Web site like
the Langoliers. Even some static .cfm pages are failing now.

  • A series of error messages, starting with syncing playlists.

I have been trying to sync new playlists to my ipod without much luck. I go to the music tab of the ipod screen on my computer, and check the playlists that i want to sync. I have tried this several times now, and I hit the apply button in the corner. At this point iTunes almost freezes, and it gives me an error message that an unknown error occured (-50), and that my ipod cannot be synced. I then try a few times to restore my ipod, and it tells me (after thinking for a moment, that my ipod cannot be restored because an unknown error has occured (1418). Can anyone help me with one or both of these problems?

The article Zevoneer pointed out is a good article for this error.
One thing to check though is to make sure the ipod is not connected to a USB hub and is connected directly to a port in the back of the computer if it is a desktop computer.
If all of this has been tried, the ipod can be set up for service with Apple via the ipod service website. http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod

  • Error message when booting Satellite P series - "Exiting PXE-ROM"

A while ago, I accidentally deleted the active partition to my hard drive. OOps. That is not very nice, because even though I wanted to clean out the drive and start fresh, the laptop would not recognize a hard drive any more. I live in the british virgin islands where we've got lots of rum and sand but no computer parts! So I bought a new hard drive, and it did not solve the problem. Turns out that drive was no good. Bummer. I was recently in California (lots of computer parts there) and had some tech people confirmed the drive was bad and yet another drive was put in. Unfortunately the people there did not have time to fix the laptop before I left. Now I'm pretty certain that the Hard drive is good.
So now I have a good drive, but whenever I try to boot, I get stuck at the following message:
    Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082)
    Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810 PCI fast ethernet controller v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.
NO matter what boot sequence I use (I can get to the setup), I can't get the computer to boot to any CD. I even tried to put a version of Ubuntu on a pen drive to try and boot to that. Nothing Every time I get the same message.
If I remove the hard drive, I get the same message, except it repeats itself every few seconds. With the HD in it only does it once.
    What should I do now?

The PXE-ROM message appears because the notebook tries to boot from the LAN.
We can speculate why the notebook want to boot from the LAN.
Either the other devices like HDD and CD/DVD drive dont function correctly, controllers are not recognized by BIOS or there is a simply wrong booting order.
If you want to boot from the HDD or ODD you can press the F12 immediately after notebook starting and the boot menu should appears. Then you could choose the right boot device.
Anyway, if its not able to choose such device you should access the BIOS and should set the BIOS to the default settings and save these settings!
    Good luck

  • Error message starting PSE 8 English on Mac Intel Italian

I am using Photoshop Elements on Mac OSX 10.5.8 (actually, I have just bought PSE…). The general system language of the computer is Italian. The PSE 8 language is English. I would let you know that I have a similar problem: a message "Licensing stopped working" appears every first time I launch PSE after each restart of my Mac. Fortunately, it seems that launching it a second time works well (no errors from the second time onwards: I can launch PSE as many times as I want without problems, until I restart my Mac the next time).
I repeat: this happens with OSX 10.5.8, *Italian* language, PSE in an English edition (English Edition for Europe, I see on the box, not for America).
I spent two hours today following all the instructions on the Adobe forums, including the official technical note, deleting the FLEXnet Publisher folder, using the LicenseRecovery tool properly, changing permissions, all according to the instructions, but it did not solve the problem.
After that, I decided to keep launching PSE 8 twice, since it is only a minor annoyance… but, well, it is disturbing, and I really hope that an update will be released as soon as possible.
I decided to write this since I had not read yet on this forum about problems with Italian language versions: I hope it will be useful to Adobe.

The problem has partially been resolved, thanks to the patience and kindness of Ankush and his team.
Not really a definitive solution (so I still hope that an update of PSE 8 for Mac will appear in the future, fixing the problem directly), but a good workaround.
They have discovered that the problem disappears if I make one of two things, that is if I switch the local system language to English (which I cannot do for various reasons) or if I delete the Flexnet preferences in StartupDisk:Library:Preferences:FLEXnet Publisher:FLEXnet.
After this was discovered, I made a short AppleScript which deletes these preferences on each computer startup. This is a workaround, but it's effective.
Therefore, I think it could be useful for some other users to know something more about this sort of workaround:
I wrote a Script in AppleScript, in this form:
    set theFolder to "StartupDisk:Library:Preferences:FLEXnet Publisher:FLEXnet"
    tell application "Finder"
    if exists theFolder then
    delete theFolder
    empty the trash
    end if
    end tell
I saved the script as an application in a convenient place.
I listed it as a Login item in my Account preferences in System Preferences (checking also "hide item") so that it runs automatically at every startup of my Mac.
The nice thing is that it works either if I have used PSE or if I haven't (thanks to the "if exists" procedure).
The only problem is that each user should personalize this script with the name of his "StartupDisk" and the localized names (that is, the names in his local language) of the folders "Library" and "Preferences".
The potential serious danger is that this script deletes everything one has in the Trash at that moment (to avoid this, one can remove the "empty the trash" line, but in this case multiple folders named "FLEXnet" will accumulate in the Trash).
This is not a problem for me, since I never leave important things in the Trash, but it might be so for another user.
So, problem partially solved with a rather good workaround.

  • IDE #1 ERROR on start up Satellite Pro Series 2100

Hi... I am getting a IDE #1 ERROR displayed on starting the computer. My CD/DVD drive doesn't seem to be recognised (In Device Manager the drive is not shown) and certainly doesn't work at all. I have not installed a new CD/Drive drive, it's the original factory supplied.
Also, another clue is when I press any of the dvd control buttons on front panel the following pop-up window appears:
"The drive setting in Toshiba controls is wrong. so the audio/video control buttons won't work. Please select the correct drive letter.for the internal CD/DVD drive"
However on the drop-down box there is no drive letter to select!
Any help would be gratefully receieved. Many thanks, Matt

    HI Matt,
it seems that your IDE Controller is damaged. For playing safe you should recover the notebook with the Toshiba recovery Image and if the failure occures on a fresh new system, the IDE controller is bad!
It could be possible that only the IDE cable is loose, but to kow that it would be better to bring the notebook to a Toshiba Service Partner!
