Error Message Stopping Capture

I am a complete beginner with FCE 4 [updated to 4.0.1].OS is SL 10.6.2. When I try to open Capture the blue progress bar is static the spinning ball appears and the following message appears..Disk not ejected properly.If possible always eject disk before unplugging or turning off.A note on disc ejection using Finder follows. This is followed by spinning ball and a dead programme.Force Quit is the only way out.There is no disc in the disc drive slot when the notice appears! The camcorder is a Canon MVX 3i miniDV.
The same error appears with iDVD 08 if I try to use that for camcorder control and the same applies to Roxio Titanium Toast.There have been a couple of occasions when briefly the camcorder tape transport has been activated by the computer but the error message quickly follows.Camcorder connection is by Firewire 800.
Can anyone help,I am completely sunk.
Ron.

If FCE is damaged it is useless to just reinstall it, as you will be installing on corrupt files.
You must COMPLETELY UNINSTALL (not just trash the FCE icon) before reinstalling.
Use this app to do it automatically:-
http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm
If you prefer to do it manually see this:-
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303874
As Martin suggested, it does sound more like a general system problem than just a corrupt FCE app, but try the above first.

    404 is a http status code meaning it could not find the link, presumably the subscription link is down or has moved.

  • Error message when capturing......

    A very recent problem: during my last two capturing attempts the error message "dropped frames were detected during your last capturing attempt" has appeared. The tape then stops and the capture vanishes.
    This is very strange and has not happened previously. i have also noticed that the tape itself 'stops and starts' as a cd would if it was scratched... however when i play the tape back just on the dv cam there is no problem at all...
    Does anyone have an explanation? I have no clue and need to capture these tapes
    Thanks,
    Ed

    Timecode is like a heart beat when capturing. A nice steady rythym is required for best results. If a few beats are messed up you know about it.
    A Reset Timecode break is where you hit the record button on your camera to a part of the tape (past the last recorded TC) that has no continuous timecode on it. The camera thinks it's a new tape and the TC reads 00:00:00:00 and starts counting. If this happens you have two sets of identical numbers. That's going to make things confusing unless there is a workaround.
    Another type of break is called an Ordered break.
    This is where two numbers are duplicated, it's hard to find manually.
    How does it occur. It can happen if you review a tape and even though there is continuous code for the camera to Jam Sync and start reading it goofs up a bit and two numbers are the same, eg. 00:01:12:13 and 00:01:12:13 DV is prone to this sometimes but not always.
    FCE is really looking for 1, 2, 3, and so on, no breaks or duplications.
    Hope this was not confusing.

  • Error message-Stop processing

    Hi all,
    I did some code like when invalid combinations....then need to raise a request,at that time it showing the error message, but after that error message...when press enter....that work order starts genrating(means start processing).So i need to stop the processing after error message displays even click on enter or save...need to show the same error message.Could u plz help me on this.
    Plz check the code below:
    IF VIQMEL-QMART = ZCL_CONSTANTS=>C_QMART_M1.
             IF VIQMEL-PRIOK = ZCL_CONSTANTS=>C_PRIOK_1 OR
                VIQMEL-PRIOK = ZCL_CONSTANTS=>C_PRIOK_2.
                   IF RIWO00-AUART <> ZCL_CONSTANTS=>C_AUART_PM03.
                      MESSAGE e208(ZPM).
                   ENDIF.
             ELSEIF RIWO00-AUART = ZCL_CONSTANTS=>C_AUART_PM03.
                    MESSAGE e208(ZPM).
             ENDIF.
          ENDIF.

    hi..
    i think you are using  module screen then you will have to use stop after the error message and clear the sy-ucomm or ok_code before stop statement.
    MESSAGE e208(ZPM).
    clear ok_code.
    stop.
    but if it were a report then also it depends on ur code.
    in report if your code contains an end-of-selection and u are throwing an error message in start-of-selection , then below error message statement if you write stop then end-of-selection still will get executed ..
    but if you write an EXIt then end-of-selection wont get executed. it will show directly output screen if there is an write statement to display on screen in start-of-selction.
    and if you are throwing an error message at selection screen then no need to use any of the above.
    but if you are using an information message then u need to use stop after the i message..
    hope this will help u

  • Recorder Error Message when capturing from camcorder

    How do I overcome the Recorder Message "Date/Time recorded not found on tape and is required for scene detection". The tape concerned does have the date & time the clips were recorded shown on the camcorder screen when viewing tape playback. I have successfully downloaded the clips from the camcorder onto Windows Movie Maker. The camcorder is a new Panasonic NV-GS330 and the instructions for it advise that clips are downloaded onto a PC via a USB 2 terminal and to use the enclosed USB cable. I have complied with this. Note I can successfully download photographs into photoshop from my digital camera using the same USB. My PC uses XP home Edition with SP3, 512Mb Ram.

    I am having the same error message, however the circumstances are different.
    I have a Panasonic PV-GS400. One of the reasons I bought this DV camera is it's ability to be used as a digital "pass-thru" recording device for analog content from a vcr/analog camcorder, ect.
    This way, I can use that function to directly record analog tape right to the PC rather than having to copy it to the DV camcorder first then copying to the PC.
    Here is the catch... Everything is working fine as far as both camcorder settings being correct, all cables correct and when I playback the analog camcorders content, it indeed is being passed thru the DV camcorder AND IS BEING PLAYED PROPERLY IN THE ADOBE CAPTURE WINDOW. Audio and all.
    But I CANNOT press the get video (record button). When I do, it wants to record the tape in the DV camcorder, so I removed the tape. But it still wont allow me to record what is being displayed in the capture window, even though it is playing (previewing) BEAUTIFULLY!!
    I just need to be able to record what is playing in the window!

  • Error messages while capturing

    Due to upgrading nightmares, I am redigitizing much of a 2.5 hour edit and bins. Along with being worried about capturing from sequences and hoping the media files will be linked with other sequences and clips in bins, I'm getting a lot of error messages. The media seems to play fine in the sequences I'm digitizing from, so I assume I'm ok, but wanted to check here.
    One message I get a lot is: The audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate of your source tape. This may cause your clips to be out of sync. Please make sure you capture at the same rate as your source tape.
    --I haven't had sync problems that I'm aware of. But I don't know how I change my audio sample rates on capture without screwing up my project. Can I sample from different rates and have them all convert to the 48k I'm using as my project setting?
    The other message has to do with drop/non-drop frame problems. Apparently the tapes I'm dealing with are very mixed. So, I'm constantly getting warnings that I'm digitizing at the wrong setting. And it's possible the previous editors captured at the wrong setting because this project is pretty messy. So far everything seems to be working out in my sequences though. Should I worry?
    Do not upgrade your system mid-project, especially if it's a big project. I had to.

    I've experienced this when, for reasons that I can't explain, FCP sees the sample rate of the tape as only slight askew, something like 47.999 kHz or 48.001 kHz. This is especially prevalent when capturing long clips (anything over 20 minutes) in my experience.
    And I can't explain this because this has occurred even under the guidance of skilled camera operators, not outright hacks.
    Should I worry?
    Depends, is it going to do any good?
    In all seriousness, what I mean to say is that our jobs are stressful enough, no need to create stress for ourselves. Judging from the questions you've been asking (all the right questions, by the way), you're doing alright...

  • Trying to install iTunes on Windows 7 but error message stops installation

    I tried installing iTunes 9.2.1 for Windows (64 bit) but after a few moments the installation stops and I receive a message saying "Could not access network location %APPDATA%\."
    I read an troubleshooting article that told me I should delete a Temp folder found through the C drive, and the folder was not able to delete, but after opening it and deleting everything that way, almost everything was able to be deleted except for a few files and folders that were "in use" in other places (not sure if that's relative or not, but just for more information).
    After deleting the folder I tried installing iTunes again, but the same message occurred. Help?

    The response to "Echo %appadata%" should be
    C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming
    A space in the user name shouldn't be a problem, but creating a new user may fix the problem because it will create the account with default registry settings which will hopefully have the missing %appdata% information.
    If you want to check on this before creating the new user, just for curiosity's sake, check the following Registry key:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\Shell Folders and check the value for AppData in the right hand pane. If it's missing, then that would explain the problem. It should be as listed above, substituting the UserName with the folder name for the user under Users.
    Also check the key
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\User Shell Folders
    The value of this key should be
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
    More keys to check:
    HKCU\Volatile Environement (1)
    HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVer sion\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
    HKU\Sxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi on\Explorer\User Shell Folders (2)
    HKU\Sxxxxx\Volatile Environement (1)
    The values in (1) should have the full path spelled out, the values in (2) should use the %USERPROFILE% variable in the path. If the value under HKU\.DEFAULT is missing or bad, then creating a new user probably won't work either. If that value is missing, then I would recommend a clean reinstall of Windows because there is no telling what else is messed up also.

  • Photoshop creative suite 5.5; error message "stopped working"; twain install failed;

    I am at the end of my rope, I am about ready to uninstall the whole thing and install Corel. With the latest update of Windows, my Photoshop stopped working. I tried to download and place the twain drivers that the directions told me to, but the download came with all kinds of "optional" plug ins and no directions on where to put them, do i put all of them in the Import/export folder, do i put only one in there, is so which one? I have windows 7 on an HP machine, I need my photoshop for obvious reasons. there are also hints to another file/folder like twain, but nothing about how to fix that either...

    I've ran that into a Matrox MX02LE (with MAX) for capture and I've done this for years with Premeire Pro although it was with earlier versions (4 and 5).  I'm using a Win 7-64 CPU with 16GB and an SSD for my OS.
    The HVR-M25U also has a FireWire I/O. Please try to connect that (or the one from your camera) directly to your computer for best results.

  • Error message stops .wmv creation: "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate..."

    Just recently when attempting to export a video into the .wmv format, QuickTime Pro 7.2 gives me this alert message, "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate. The media you are exporting contains audio with multiple sample rates." QuickTime will not compress (export) to .wmv. It will export to .mov. and .m4v.
    This problem is new. For more than a year my weekly video exported to the .wmv format without fail.
    I am working on a Mac G4 Dual Processor and iMovieHD.
    Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
    Mac G4 Dual Processor   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

    Just in from flip4mac support:
    The recent release of QuickTime 7.2 created an audio compression error for Flip4Mac WMV Studio, Studio Pro and Studio Pro HD customers. Specifically, when encoding WMV files with Flip4Mac WMV v.2.1.2 using uncompressed audio sources on QuickTime 7.2 systems, customers were receiving "Inconsistent Audio Sample Rate" error and the encode will fail. This problem has been resolved with the beta release of Flip4Mac WMV v2.1.33. If you are using QuickTime 7.2, please upgrade to this release at http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_beta.htm

  • Error message stopped (err= -61)

    I was trying to download some tracks into my itunes account and when I tried doing that it stopped all of my downloads and said, "stopped(err= -61)" This is under the status section of the songs I was trying to download.

    Your post mentioning EHD's as having something to do with it was the clue for me. My library resides on a G-Tech (Hitachi) external. I had tried logging in/logging out and deauthorizing/reauthorizing, ran applejack and cleared caches - nothing worked. Quit itunes, unmounted my EHD, turned it on and off, remounted, and presto! Everything's downloading fine.

  • Capturing the error messages generated by ALV Grid

    Hi,
    I have a ALV Grid, and a field date of DATS type.
    If i enter wrong date a message pops up with invalid date entry.
    How can i capture this error message in ALV Grid.

    Hi,
    Instead of displaying the error message directly, capture the message into a string variable and display it along with the grid display.
    Thanks,
    Sri.

  • WDS Capture error message

    Hi, I've been doing WDS for OS deployment and OS Capture since 2008 R2 SP1 and I'm sure I did followed the instructions well but in 2012 R2, it seems I'm getting an error message during capturing of OS. It show me this error message below:
    For the OS deployment, there's no issue, just the capturing. Tried to perform sysprep on the target machine but as far as I know, you'll still be able to see the capture GUI eventhough not sysprep'd it will still show the GUI but no option for the hard drive
    where you want to store the captured image.
