Error message storing.dll missing

After having had some problems with an external back up system I get the message ''error message storing.dll missing''.
My question is how to solve this problem? Must I download this file and where and how to install?
Please?

I understand that your notebook computer is displaying an error message of a missing "storing.dll" file. First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:

Updating to latest version of i tunes but stopped by this error message MSVCR80.dll missing, what can i do?

This happened to me today as well post installing the latest version of itunes.   I did a search on google for the error and came across a recommendation to :
Note: Start Windows in Safe Mode to complete any of the following steps if you're unable to access Windows normally due to the msvcr80.dll error.
If, and only if, you're receiving the msvcr80.dll is missing error when you open Apple iTunes, do the following: (skip this step if your msvcr80.dll error is occurring with a different program)
Uninstall from Windows the following five programs in this order: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, and finally Apple Application Support. If you have iCloud, remove it as well.
Uninstalling these programs in Windows is done from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
Note: Songs and playlists in iTunes will not be removed when you uninstall the iTunes program or any of the other, already-mentioned Apple programs. If you'd still like to back them up, they're usually located in the My Music folder in Windows.
Download the latest version of iTunes from Appleand note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
Run the iTunes installation as an administrator. If you're not sure how to do that, see How Do I Open an Elevated Command Prompt? for help. That procedure shows you how to open the Command Prompt program as an administrator, but the steps are essentially the same for anything, including the iTunes installation package you just downloaded.
A general overview of removing and reinstalling iTunes can also be found here on Apple's site but the above procedure seems to work better in this particular situation.

  • Error message MSCVR80.dll missing when updating iTunes

I have been trying to update iTunes but keep getting an error message MSVCR80.dll is missing
I have tried deleting iTunes and reinstalling but get error message
My brother in law has the same message and problem and he is in another State

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

You need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components; this won't affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • HT1923 I have iTunes installed on a PC running Windows 7. When I downloaded an iTunes update, iTunes wouldn't open, and diplayed a "system error" message: MSVC80.dll file missing. Does this indicate a Windows 7 problem? Is it fixable?

    Hello bhillblom,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
When you get to the step to uninstall iTunes, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with a Windows OS dll.
Perhaps try an sfc /scannow. For instructions, see the following Microsoft document:

  • Error message : "Preflight.dll is missing or corrupt"

    Hi,
I'm currently converting a bunch of PDF thesis into PDF/A 1-b through an Action (batch processing). Some of them resist conversion : Acrobat displays an error message : "Preflight.dll is missing or corrupt".
If I do it manually (open the PDF document and then "Save as"-> "PDF/A") :
    - for 3 of them I always get the above-mentioned error message
    - for 3 others I manage to create a PDF/A 1-b version, but when I open it in Acrobat and browse through the document I get a popup telling me "Impossible to extract embedded font xxxxxxxxxxx. Some characters might be displayed or printed incorrectly" [homemade translation from french to english ;-)].
3 fonts seem to cause this problem :
    RRTVUI+Calibri,Italic
    ALONFR+Calibri
    SAPTZM+Calibri
N.B. : I'm using a PC with Windows XP and Acrobat XI Pro v. 11.0.3
As I understand it, PDF/A 1-b norm requires all fonts to be included into the PDF file. But what happens when the author of the document used a font that I don't have on my computer ? Does it mean that in thoses cases I won't be able to create a PDF/A 1-b version for archiving purposes ?
This is all the more troubling that in  one of the PDF/a 1-b with font problems, I realized that the original text has been altered (some "%" characters are not displayed at all).
At first I intended to archive only the PDF/A 1-b version of the thesis files, but now I realize that this is much more complicated than I thought : some PDF refuse to be converted (for a yet unknown reason), and some are altered in the process !
Can you please help me to find out :
    - why some PDFs can't be converted to PDF/A 1-b ("Preflight.dll is missing or corrupt")
    - a way to remedy the font problem ?
    Thanks !

Yes, and yes. You have to embed it (rules of PDF/A) and therefore you have to own it. There doesn't seem to be any way around this.
It's certainly not the case that every PDF can be made suitable for PDF/A.
