Error message: the image is not large enough for the operation
Hello,
I am doing some image processing using NI-IMAQ. I got this error message everytime I run my program. A dialoge box would pop up to show this error and i can choose to stop or continue the program. if i choose continue, my program works fine. it only happens when the program just starts to run. I am making a program to see the differece when i use 'imaq subtract' from 'absolute difference'. so i have two input images. i connect both of the two images to the two imaq functions i am trying to compare. at first, i was only using one of the two functions. everything is fine. but i want to see the difference of the two functions, so I put them together at the same time instead of watching the difference individually. so I put a second function in. no matter which of the two is the second i put in, the error message shows up.
I tried to copy the images to avoid the double use of the original images. but got the same error. anyone has ever met this problem too? or have any advice to solve the problem? I appreciate any suggestions from you. thank you very much.

thanks for your answer. I didn't quite understand the link you gave me. but i have solved my problem. I just connected the error cable through each vi. I guess the by doing so the program knows the sequence to run the vis. the messages you forwarded to me do help me to think. however, i am still not sure about the reason. any further explainations would be appreciated.

IMovie error message "The operation could not be completed"
I am trying to create a new movie and got this error message " The operation could not be completed" after selecting the Themes.
Any suggestions?
ThanksMy problem was because I had moved my Movies folder from the system drive (which is an SSD) over to another drive with a larger capacity. I then created an Alias in my home folder. Turns out this is what was causing the problem. I shoulda known. Some apps absolutely hate this. iMovie, being the dumbed down garbage that it is, simply MUST have it's library in a certain folder, apparently. Would be nice if we had a choice about it.
I find Premiere Elements is actually the better (and friendlier) program. However in this case, I had to slum it with iMovie due to the Quicktime file I was working with. -
Bridge is acting real funny lately: It won't close, so I have to force quite, then I get the error message: "The operation could not be completed. The file is Locked"

Major headaches with copying files and folders between drives. I constantly (and I mean constantly) have to resort to copying files across in small batches (fewer than 10 works best) because anytime I try to copy lots of files and folders from my mac to an external hard drive (or from one external HD to a second external HD), I ALWAYS get the error message "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name .DS_Store already exists".
The files and folders are all Mac-generated, so hint or trace of foreign OSs in the mix.
All file types are susceptible
the HDs are all Mac OS X formatted, no foreign file formats involved
the HDs are all journal-enabled, OS X extended formats
have looked on here for previous posts, past suggestion was to disable creation of DS_Store files - not really a solution and realistically, defeats the purpose of their creation
any ideas anyone?
would appreciate any thoughts or sugestions, this has got me beat
the context is that I have a lot of image files that I am copying (trying to...) new external 3TB drives for backup and the job appears endless if I have to do this in batches of 10 or so..!
many thanks for any suggestionsThis is definitively a nuisance. When copying large amounts of files between volumes try opening a terminal window and use use ditto. You need to type the directory paths of the source and the destination volume. When it starts ditto just coupes and optionally overwrites anything on the destination. You can get a verbose mode where it lists all activities.

Hi Apple community!
I have a [rather worrying] problem.
When I try to copy all my files from my documents on my mac [or the entire documents folder] into an external drive, I get this error message
" The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name “.DS_Store” already exists. "
I am not given an option to skip this file or anything else.
But I simply cannot complete the operation!
I have tried deleting a few of the .ds_store files, [both in the original and in the destinations]
but no success.
The same thing keeps happening.
At first, this was just happening when I was trying to backup to my dropbox folder [the one on my mac's harddrive, which gets synced to the cloud],
but then I tried to back up my documents to my external hard drive, and I realized it is giving me the same error message.
So effectively, it seems I cannot backup my files anywhere!
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Every time I try an update I keep getting the error message
"The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102)."
Once I get this error message and try to update again, I get told there are no updates. I have to cancel the first attempted update and close all message windows before it lets me try again, and guess what, same error as above.
Is anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it.
Not sure at the moment if this is an Apple related problem or a problem with my machine, but everything else worked ok, including an earlier update to iPhotoUse this link instead:

I receive an alert from ITunes that there is an update available. When I go to the updates in ITunes I receive the following error message:

The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
When I try to move files from my imac (v10.8.5) to my external harddrive I get the error message "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." How can I resolve this? Thank you.
Some other things to look at.

When I try and move an application to my application folder from the installer and when I try to empty the trash, I get the error message, "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items." This has only been an issue since I upgraded to Lion. I'm using a July '07 white Macbook 2.16 Intel Core 2 Duo. In my trash I only have an older version of a software that I updated (Divy). The software I'm trying to install is Angry Birds Rio.
Always use the same websites you are having problems with so you can monitor the changes.
Try the reset for Safari:
And for Firefox:

Try logging in to the guest account as well to see if you have the same problems there, it might be a logging in issue. -
I'm trying to transfer a quicktime file, when I drop the file in my hard drive I get the following error message "The operation can be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code 0). It only happens with this particular drive.
Run Disk Utility and try to verify/repair the drive to see if it reports and fixes anything.

I performed a clean install of Lion, then upgraded to Yosemite. Now, i am trying to restore files and programs from my backup in my time capsule but when i connect to the backup folder i receive this error message "The operation cannot be completed because the original item for "backup" cannot be found.
I previously had mavericks installed and was able to backup and restore just fine. I do believe that within the time since i last performed a backup or restore there was an update for the time capsule that i ran using my iPhone. I need a solution to this issue.Yosemite can take a very long time to index the backup.. and it seems to be impossible in my own testing to get back beyond the latest one.
If you cannot manage a migration.. which I guess is what you are trying to do.. see if you can do a full restore to a USB drive plugged into your computer. -
This subject was originally posted in the Adobe>Windows forum but Adobe employee thought it best that I repost here.

I originally posted this in Photoshop but employee thought expertise was lacking in that forum and that I should move my question to this one.
Seems very few Adobe CSx users use Bridge....go figure!
Anyway getting error messages that there is not enough memory in Bridge to continue and I must restart Bridge.
Refer to the above link for original question and all pertinant computer data.
Seems this is a very prevelant problem in both the PC and MAC environment but Adobe has felt not important enough to help(see employee comment or lack thereof).
Any help would be appreciated.
I am not real "computer" saavy so please speak so("Idiots Guide To Adobe Bridge ; >) )
DanOk on ampersand meant
just what you adivised...I will not use that character again.
Time wise..10-15 minutes usually but this is an "ungageable" factor. I don't clockwatch to see when failures reoccur.
User security=if you check the right suggestion/similiar thread pane on anyone post, Adobe links similiar threads that might help. A few have been relating the same problem to how user security is setup within Windows.
Permissions for security for users for each disk is here and it was mentioned that some "permissions" were not checked(allow/deny).
By allowing the permissions it could help sand it appears in my case under the "Group or User Name">Users that some categories were not checked that thread mentioned aboved, if changed to "Allow" granted more control.
The path control, aka "My Book", is where the images were stored(External HD) and moved to the new computer. As I mention in my initial post, this is where the images are stored and the reason I am moving them to more accessable file names.
"My Book" will be deleted when all files have been moved. Hence that path will no longer exist I believe.
The file structure withing either "MY Book" or Windows is what is creating the where the files are stored. I did not customize that flow because I was unaware that this might incurr any problems.
Thanks!

DanApparently not. I'm still seeing it in the Photoshop Windows forum - though it's anyone's guess WHAT you'll see with this Jive Turkey forum software.

Hi, I am on iphoto 11 version 9.2, Mac OS 10.7.5 using a macbook Pro 2.8Ghz Intel. All of a sudden I cannot play video (H.264) on iphoto. I get the message "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -101.)". I rebuilt the iphoto database and videos played once, since then, they will not play and I continue to get the error message, even if I rebuild the database.
Any thoughts or helpful suggestions from anyone gratefully received.Hi Terence,
Thank you for your help.
My saved iphoto library is in iphoto 09 and I have now iphoto 11 in my iMac as I upgraded from OS X Lion Mountain to OS X Mavericks.
Thanks

I've been using TeleChart 2000 for a couple of weeks with no problem. Then over the weekend it disappeared from my dock and wouldn't stay in the dock even though I selected "keep in dock." At least I could still open it by going to the "downloads" folder. Now today, when I tried to open it after using it earlier in the day, I got this message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -43.)
Anyone know how to fix this?
MJI took a quick look at http://www.welovemacs.com/whdoalltherc.html which list many error codes, Error 43 appears to be a file not found error.
