If i install iTunes again, will i lose my library?
Hello there, Naiichbey.
The following Knowledge Base article speaks to how-to reinstall iTunes:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Although you may or may not be working in Windows, the part I'd want to point out is the following information found in this document:
Notes:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. If you're unsure how to backup, see iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive.
These steps may take a significant amount of time to complete, depending on your system.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

I am on Windows 7. Yesterday I ran an iTunes update and today I receive this message when I try to launch iTunes: This copy of iTunes is corrupted and not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. I am woried that I have already lost my music and don't want to re-install.
I found this on another discussion board and it really helped, I didn't have to uninstall anything and didn't lose any music
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". -
I use Windows 7 on an Acer Aspire 5532. I've had iTunes installed for years, but today when I tried to open iTunes I got the error message above. I tried to reinstall iTunes online and it wouldn't work. Please help!

I've had iTunes installed for years, but today when I tried to open iTunes I got the error message above.
With that one, I'd first try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

How do I "reinstall" iTunes? I have looked at other support communities and none of the solutions have worked. I have tried installing iTunes on the Apple website, but a message comes up that it can't install. I don't know if this information is important, but the icon is not being displayed in the applications folder. It is just the automatic icon for all applications. Please help!

This copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed correctly.
After many tries (and failed attempts) to install the 9.0.3 update and getting this message above in the subject line I restarted, reinstalled again and succeeded (in the install)... until I tried to open iTunes to find that I still got the error. What do I do now? I'm not reinstalling OSX just to get iTunes working... anyone find a way to get iTunes to open? I need to sync my phone and can't with this problem. If I look at "get info" for iTunes it states the correct version 9.0.3.
HELP! Thanks!

Message was edited by: smm03011Same error here. iTunes launches fine, it just will not update.
Fresh 10.6.2 install on a brand new machine. Tried Software Update in multiple accounts, tried clean install (had to re-instal 9.0.1 from CD), tried cleaning out the update caches, and I tried downloading the standalone installer but get "The operation couldn't be completed (SafariErrorDomain error 1.)" when trying to mount the downloaded iTunes9.0.3 image (I believe that's an invalid checksum, at least that's what the finder says when I try to mount the image directly). Skipping the checksum check allows it to mount but the install fails.
I've had this issue before and managed to successfully run the stand-alone installer, but no joy here today trying that. Every other update installed fine. -
ITunes says that this copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed correctly
I open up my computer and it shows up saying that iTunes can't be opened because it is corrupted. It was working perfectly fine yesterday. I had been using it without problems for years. Anything I should do, or just reinstall?
Hello there, Jasonj9630.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with iTunes functionality:
iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3430
If after running through those steps, you find that the issue persists, you may want to download and run the iTunes Installer located here:

This copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed properly ? Help
Hi,
After starting up iTunes I received en error message: "This copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed properly". So I downloaded the latest version via apple but it fails to re-install because there is already a later version of iTunes on my mac ? So iTunes is corrupted, I get the advise to reinstall but I can't because the install prog refuses to do so. Please help !
I am running OSX 10.7.3 on an intel MacBookPro with the latest iTunes installed (as far as I know).
Thanks in advance,
MarkNot to worry. The package downloaded by Software Update seemed to be b0rken.
I fixed it like this:
Download iTunes 9.0.2 here:
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iTunes9/061-7197. 20091029.tnz9f/iTunes9.0.2.dmg
That disk image unpacks an .mpkg (meta package) whereas Software Update downloaded a folder containing packages. Looks like it just unpacked on download instead of install.
