Error message transfering music to playl

I searched the board found the same problem but no answer. I just updated my playcenter software and started to transfer my MP3 list into the system so i could use my remote to play the music. Well it gets to a point where it gives me an error and terminates the program. I start it back up and try again and keeps giving me an error. Any answers to this? Maybe i have to much music that the program can't hold? Its not a harddri've issue has 250gb to play with.
I have Sound Blaster Li've! 5. Plat.

Hello jayman74,
Usually this issue can be resolved by resetting the iPod. To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off, then press and hold the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. Then try relaunching the game to see if that helps.
Otherwise, you may need to restore the iPod with iTunes.

  • "timed out" error while transferring music and videos

    Hi,
I use iTunes 8.1.0.52. When i connect iPhone and start transferring music or videos it simply throws out "device timed out" error. What do i do? do i have a solution for this problem? My iPhone is updated with latest software 2.2. Any suggestions?

try using a different USB port on your computer. i've seen this before in the forum, and the problem was a bad USB port.
are you plugging in directly to your computer, or through a USB hub? from what i've seen, you can not use a USB hub.

  • Error message transferring premiere pro CS3 project ot Encore

I use an earlire version of Premiere pro with no problem.  I cannot use CS3.  I can create a project and try to export
it to Encore to burn it to a DVD, but I get the following message:
PGC "project name" has an error at 00;05;55;14  Internal software error %0, line "project name"-PGC info;name="project name", ref=Bpgc,time=00;05;55;14
One person suggested changing the Bitrate from variable to constant.  I did that.  Same error message.
I'm really frustrated.  Can anyone help?

Ah, the dreaded PGC error. I would suggest that you head to the Encore Forum, and do a search for "PGC." There are probably 5 threads, and two are very, very long. Look closely, as some replies are tangents, and never proved to be useful, but some suggestions did - in certain circumstances.
Look closely at replies by Jeff Bellune and Stanley Jones, as they offer the most info.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - welcome to the forum. I would also post to the Encore Forum with as much info as possible, as Stanley never makes it over here and has worked on this error for some years.

    Hello Blkice,
It sounds like you would like to sync your music from your iTunes library on the computer to your iPad to listen to it there. The following article will help you get your content synced over to your device:

  • Error message"Copying music failed.  The file name was invalid or too long"

That's the message I get; no other details. I don't know which file. Or whether it's more than one file. How can I know/find out which file (and what a valid filename would be)? Grrrr...
itunes managed to copy around 12 gigs before this happened, so I don't know what got copied and what didn't.
Please help! I need to rebuild my playlists by Friday!
    Thanks so much in advance!!!

    BUMP
Yes, I just get that message. I don't see how I could investigate this problem.
I didn't mention that this happened when I was consolidating my library, not copying files to another computer.
In other words, I'm using a "normal" itunes procedure, itunes won't complete it, and won't tell me exactly why or how to figure out how to fix it...
Is there at least some easy way to tell which files were successfully copied to my itunes music folder so I can work on moving the uncopied files?
    Can anybody help me?

  • HT4527 error message:ITunes Music can't be copied because there isn't enough free space

I tried to copy Itune library from my previous MacBook pro to the new one (Itunes 10 to Itunes11). I used an external hard-drive. As soon as I drag the Itunes music folder into Music (new computer) I get the message"The item “iTunes Music” can’t be copied because there isn’t enough free space".  I checked and do have enough space! Thanks for helping!

I just ran into this issue moving around large VHD images. I found the cause to be local time machines backups. Time machine seems to keep backups on your local (i.e boot) drive by default, in addition to your nominated Time Machine drive. This is meant to be transparent and only consume free space, but clearly it's not smart enough to free the space when you actually need it.
If you launch the "System Information" utility, on the "Storage" tab you should see a large portion of your primary hard-disk consumed by "Backups".
To disable local time machine backups, run the folllowing at the terminal:
        sudo tmutil disablelocal
This should immediately free up the space. If not, try running a Time Machine backup manually to kick it into gear. You may re-enable local Time Machine backups with the following:
        sudo tmutil enablelocal
    Hope this helps.

  • Genre selection error message 'No Music'

I'm trying to play a genre on my iPhone. it previously worked, but recently I received a No Music message when I selected it to play. When I look at my music on my PC my tracks and albums are listed as on my iPhone and I can play them, but when I try to access the same genre on my iPhone it keeps displaying the 'no music' message.
I have deleted all music in that genre from my iPhone and then added it back to my iPhone so the genre list removes the specific genre and then re displays it when the music is added back but each time the no Music message is displayed. All other genres are working fine on my iPhone, its just one of them.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Hi,
Specify the Project & Network for the project in selection creteria & select the option as only selected network & excute the transaction.

  • Error message when moving iTunes music folder to External Hard Drive

I have followed the instructions in Apple support to move my iTunes music folder to an external hard drive. During the consolidate library step, only half of my music is transferred before I get the error message "Copying music failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
Has anyone gotten the same message, and what was your experience correcting the issue?
    15" Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

In Windows, you go through File >> Library >> Organize Library. here you can choose to consolidate your library. this should do the job.. alternatively you could take a look at this blog..
    http://www.tuaw.com/2006/09/19/how-to-keep-your-itunes-library-on-an-external-ha rd-drive/
Even though its step by step on mac you should be able to figure it out from there.

  • Can't consolidate files- error message 69

I am trying to back up my iTunes file to a hard drive. While consolidating, I repeatedly receive the error message :copying music failed. an unknown error occurred.
It consolidates most of my music, but keeps stopping at random songs. Can anyone help me to solve my consolidation problem?

A good next step would be restoring preferences: Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6

  • I perviously transfered all my iTunes music to an external hard drive. But now when I connect the external hard drive and try to play a song, I get an error message saying that I need to "locate" my music. I don't how to find it on my external hard drive.

I perviously transfered all my iTunes music to an external hard drive. But now when I connect the external hard drive and try to play a song, I get an error message saying that I need to "locate" my music. I don't how to find it on my external hard drive. Please help for I am not that computer savy and don't want to mess anything up.
    Thanks!

I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. Still says same thing, "locate file."

  • Authorization error message in iTunes when transferring music to iPod

This has been driving me nuts. I have a 30GB iPod w/ the color display and a brand new Intel MacBook with the latest version of iTunes (iPod's been updated as well). My previous computer, a Powerbook G4, fell off a counter and died on the spot, so my only back up for all the music I have is what's on my iPod.
First, I couldn't transfer all of my music from my iPod to the MacBook because of an authorization problem with iTunes. So, I authorized my computer, which still didn't solve the problem. I resorted to using iPodRip which successfully got all the music off the iPod and onto the MacBook. No harm, no foul.
The problem now is that I can't transfer music from the MacBook to the iPod for the exact same reason: I get the error message saying that some songs are not authorized to play.
I have tried the following things:
    1) Deauthorizing and re-authorizing my computer on iTunes = No luck. iTunes informs me that I am now authorized and that I have 1 out of 5 authorizations in use, but the songs still won't transfer.
    2) Playing an "unauthorized" song in iTunes. Again, I get a message asking me to enter my account info and then thanking me for authorizing. However, the song won't play in iTunes, nor will it transfer to the iPod.
    3) Restoring my iPod to the factory settings. Not sure why I tried this, but it didn't work and is the reason why I no longer have all my songs on my iPod and am trying so desperately to get them back.
    4) Used iPodRip to try to reverse the process, but again, no dice.
I have a feeling that the answer to this is stupidly simple and I'm somehow missing some crucial step somewhere. Can someone help me out?
Intel MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Alright, I think I solved the problem on my own. For what it is worth, restarting the computer seemed to solve all of my issues. After restarting, iTunes accepted my authorization (alerting me that I now have 2 of 5 machines authorized) but my iPod kept disconnecting after syncing. So, I reset the iPod, downloaded iTunes 7 and reinstalled it, and whaddya know- It works! I have all of my music on both my computer and the iPod.
    It was stupidly simple, too.

  • Error Message when transferring music from itunes to ipod

When i connect my ipod to itunes it will transfer some but not all songs from itunes to ipod. currently every song in my itunes library will transfer EXCEPT all songs from M-R and i get a unknown error message (-69). can anyone help. Thks.

    Hello spk15,
The only suggestion I have to offer is to take a look at this Apple support document if you haven't done so yet.

  • My ipod won't sync and it keeps coming up with an error message saying "internal error" or it tries to get me to restore from a backup. All of my music and movies have been wiped from my ipod and the apps don't work. The backups don't work either. help.

I plugged my ipod touch into my computer to sync it and it came up with an error message saying that it encoutered an internal error and it refused to sync.
I then unplugged it and plugged it back in and this time it told me that I needed to restore from a backup or set it up as a new ipod. I tried to restore from a backup but it came up with the error message "Backup session failed" every time. I then looked on my ipod and all of my music and movies are gone though it still says that they are on the ipod in itunes. I decided to use the restore function and let that finish. After restoring it still doesn't allow me to sync or back up and The music and movies can still not be seen. I am currently attempting to copy the music and movies to my ipod though this did not work with my apps as they transfered but when I attempted to open them they just crash... If someone could please help me it would be great. It is driving me crazy.

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

  • Cannot locate original music file error message???

cannot locate original music file error message ??? i transferred to a new laptop then some of my music collection seems to get this message .

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

  • "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store" Error Message

    Hello all,
I finally got my script running correctly and I can see the front page of my iTunesU site(Yay!). But I am getting an irritating error message, and what is unusual are the circumstances under which I see the error message and the circumstances under which I do NOT see the error message. Allow me to elaborate.
    Scenario #1
I have iTunes open on my computer. I go to the login page I created on my school's website and login. I watch as the "Music Store" page on iTunes gives way to the front page of my iTunesU site. Perfection! This is the behavior I want!
    Scenario #2
I DO NOT have iTunes open on my computer. I go to the login page I created on my school's website and login. I watch as iTunes begins to open and then spits out this error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. An unknown error occurred. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
There is also an error number attached to the error message but it changes from time to time with no explanation. Here is the strange part. If I just hit "OK" on the error message my iTunesU site opens fine.
I've tried this on my home and work computers and a friend's computer and the behavior is the same. Moreover I surfed over to the Stanford iTunesU login page: http://itunes.stanford.edu/ and I get the same behavior(which pretty much rules out in my mind that it is a problem with my script).
I guess it isn't a huge deal. Worse comes to worse we can tell the students and faculty, if you see an error message from iTunes just hit "OK". But I'm rolling out this slick new iTunesU site and this error message is like a scratch in the paint job. Plus my boss is looking over my shoulder like "what's that error?" and it is starting to detract from the computer whiz kid image I've worked so hard to cultivate
    My possible suspects are:
iTunes - (Went over to the iTunes discussion board and a lot of people report similar error messages when trying to get into the Music Store but I couldn't find anyone who said hitting "OK" made it possible to proceed)
My script -(seems unlikely since Stanford has the same problem)
The configuration on the computers I've tested it on - (But I've tested it on three different computers!)
iTunesU - If this is the problem I'm hoping you people can help me.
So has anyone else experienced this?
Try to login into your iTunesU page with and without iTunes already open. See any error messages or weird behavior?
Try the same thing on Stanford's site: http://itunes.stanford.edu/
If you can repeat my result then post it here so Apple will know this is an issue. If you can't repeat my result then post it here so that I might know I need to look elsewhere for the problem.
Thank you for your kind attention.

I'm seeing this error on some, but not all, of my Windows XP machines. On my personal development XP box, I see this error if iTunes is closed when I try and access iTunes U via my transfer script or Stanford's.
"iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was terminated unexpectedly. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
The errors occured in IE 7 Beta, Firefox 1.5.x, and Firefox 2 Beta. In each case, iTunes U loaded after I clicked the 'ok' button in iTunes. I did notice that in Firefox's case an additional pop-up window appeared that asked whether or not I had iTunes; when I selected that I do have itunes, it transfered me to iTunes but generated the error.
After getting these errors on my Windows XP machine, I tried it on two different lab machines running Windows XP, and didn't get the error message once -- I tried it in IE 6, Firefox 1.0.x and Firefox 1.5.x and they all worked. It even worked with IE 7 Beta and Vista Beta.
Based on this, I think the problem must lie in how Windows registered iTunes, and the handshake just isn't happening properly.
