Attempting to log into various TV subscription cable channels with a valid ID and password which ordinarily allows me to enter the on lne version of the cable channel, such as HBO and TNT and USA. Works fine on Showtime. Something is local to these channels, I suppose yet suggesting that something in the computer is blocking also. Everything worked fine with my HP notebook, all subscription/ login required channels were accessble but this new computer actually refurbished but like new) an HP Elite sff 8000 seems to be blocking me from logging in. Could it be the cable channels? Also got a message that indicated something about "User repository". Please sugget a detailed fix if there is one from this information.

Hi,
I have been attempting to install and have AM 7.2 working properly with the J2EE Policy Agent for V9 of Sun's App Server. I have followed mostly the default values during setup. I believe I have the installed properly. In order to verify that everything is working properly, I have also installed the sample app that comes with the J2EE Agent.
I made a few changes to the README that came witht the sample app by changing the default org setup in the exaple to dc=sample,dc=com. I setup up the policies, users, groups and roles as specified in the read me. However, when requested to authenticate, the access manager responds with "User has no profile in this organization..."
It is quite mystifying as to what this error actually means unless there are organizations within the default realm other than the one it actually came with. Which is what I am using.
Any help would be deeply appreciated and thank you in advance.

I had done as you suggested. But there is a problem. Once this is done, the amadmin subject can no longer log into the application amserver. However, the agent sample works. How I got around the the problem is to create another Realm (with sample as the parent realm). In this second realm I set the User Profile to ignore. Once done, I went about creating the subjects in the second realm. What was was kind of strange is that the URL policies had to be defined in the Parent realm.
Once so done, amadmin could log in and the application iteself worked as advertised.

I have a 2nd generation iPod touch. I have not updated the software from version 2.2.1. When I connect to iTunes to update to 4.2, I keep getting an error message. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out a way to fix it?

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I got a new PC laptop, retrieved all old HD contents from my external HD, installed LR 5.6 (5.4 on previous PC) and when I tried to open up my old Lightroom catalog it has an error saying "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to this photo". I tried to open the catalog straight from my external HD with the same error message. I've read about four billion forum threads to try to figure it out- files do not seem to be missing as most threads indicate. The other threads suggest there is a corruption with the file, but I don't THINK that is the case. Are there any other suggestions? If the file is corrupted, how do I find out for sure? Have I lost all my edits??

I get the following error as soon as I plug in my Shuffle. I have had this problem almost a year and I've taken my suffle into the store, had it restored several times. It works fine at the Apple store but when I get it home this is what I get. I cant use my shuffle and it's killing me. Even calling Apple tech support was useless... after waiiting on hold for an hour the guy basically said he didn't have any idea how to fix this.

Thanks!You could be having a drive collision with another device on your computer. Connect your Shuffle to a rear port on your computer, then connect your keyboard and mouse. Disconnect ALL other USB devices including printers, thumb drives, scanners, modems, digital cameras, external hard drives, infinite improbability drives, etc. If you are on a network, disconnect from the network.
Now change the drive letter on your iPod. Use something much higher like M or P or Z, unless you have another device that uses this letter:

I'm getting this error message: "User not registered for online use" when i'm trying to download music/ track names from a CD into ITunes on my Windows 8 PC. I'm registered and my itunes account/ appleID are all correct and working.
The ""not recognized for on-line use". error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs. Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12. A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected. Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\
Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete the following files:
CD Info.cidb
com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this doesn't work:
In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
Exit iTunes
In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
Restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
If this one didn't work:
Exit iTunes
Check the following folders:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
Delete any copies of the following files:

In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features. Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
When this process has finished, restart iTunes
Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself. If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes. -
iTunes randomly stops playing purchases that have previously viewed on the same hardware. It has an error message about HD. How can this issue be resolved? What information is available besides the "learn more" option that does not deal with the problem?

I also tried with and without your crossdomain.xml file but
with the same result. It looks like this file is intended for URL
policy, instead of socket policy. Recently Adobe separated the two.
When I run with the files installed on my dev PC, it does
work, which makes sense because the flash player isn't loaded from
an unknown domain.
I did get one step closer. If a crossdomain.xml in the server
root exists and the socketpolicy file is loaded from the app folder
then the first two warnings disappear. The logs now show:

UPDATE: When serving up the policy file on port 843 using the

It sounds like you are getting this error message that your iPod cannot be read from or written to when you are trying to update your iPod Nano. I have downloaded all IP changer Privacy software I have purchased and am trying to install it, and although it is made to work with WindowsME that I am currently using on my computer, it now says it requires Firefox 3 or above to be able to install the software. Therefore, I am trying to update my Firefox to current 3.6 but once Firefox 3.6 downloads it doesn't install. Instead I just keep getting the same error message: Setup has caused an error in SETUP.EXE. Set up will now close. Several times, I have also tried restarting the computer as the error message also recommended But I just still keep getting the same error message when I try to update/install Firefox 3.5. Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:

You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

Getting the error message:
the item Itunes.exe that this shortcut referes to has been moved or changed so this shortcut will no longer work properly.
I tried going into the control panel/programs /itunes and selected repair which didn't fix it. Any suggestions on restoring the broken shortcut without removing and re-installing the program?

Thank youI think it is some sort of permissions issue preventing the installer from updating the shortcuts. Is your account an administrator of the machine? If it is and you still have the problem then you may need to explicitly use the "Administrator" account for the install.

CS4 won't start up on my new computer. The error message I get is "Licensing for this product has stopped working." Both the old and new computer are MACs and the error code I get is 150:30. It says to restart the computer or open another application in the suite, but neither helps. It says if nothing helps to contact Adobe support, but this is the only way I'm given to contact adobe support. Can I really not use my purchased software on my new computer? What do I do to activate the license on the new computer?

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
C: >> Program Files >> Adobe >> Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the blue icon)
Select that file and click Next.
Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen.
