Error message when attempting to connect to itunes store
When I try to go to the itunes store I receive an error message that says "the network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again". I can connect to everything but itunes store. I have contacted itunes support and they say it is a problem with my network. My ISP is HughesNet. No one in their tech support seems to know anything about a Mac. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks!
This is the only solution that worked for me. I tried the setting the date one year ahead, didn't work. Tried settings reset, didn't work. Tried using alternate apple ID, didn't work. This is the only thing that worked, hope it helps anyone else that other soluctions don't work.
Thanks for the information and help!

help please !!Hello buttonbabe,
I found a couple of articles that might help with the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.
If you are getting a white screen when accessing the iTunes Store, I recommend reviewing this article:

Help please anybody. Haven't been able to connect to iTunes store for about a week, to start with it would connect to a very basic store front, then after installing latest iTunes, I keep getting an error message with error -3212, have looked through lots of other threads, and tried a few suggestions but nothing seems to work.

Unknown error -3256 when trying to connect to itunes store
since I updated to itunes 7.0 I can't connect to the itunes store anymore. I really want to purchase new music and for over 3 weeks I haven't been able to connect anymore. It's so annoying! My internetconnection is always working perfectly. I have tried updates, reinstalled everything, but I can't get it to work. I would be so greatful for help!!!
The exact error message is: I tunes could not connect to itunes store du to an unknown error (-3256)Dito to everything that has been said so far! In the UK though, we don't even have a phone number to be able to actually speak to someone about this. Apple better get on it and put some kinda statement on the site about it. Hate to admit this, but I've spent nearly the whole of Christmas Day stressing about this!! AAAAARGH!! Let's hope it gets sorted. However, I have read some other topics about it and other people are saying that their ipods stopped working after d/loading the latest software... Was gonna consider uninstalling it but without it you can't actually d/load any vids!! Total catch 22!
Merry Christmas folks! Let's keep our fingers crossed that it gets sorted!

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

Error message when attempting to sync to itunes
Recently I have been having a problem syncing my iphone (original model 16 gb OS 2.2.1 with iTunes (8.0). I get a message that says unable to read from iphone. I can work around this by forcing the iphone to reboot. I can then perform a normal sync. However, the next time I attempt to sync I get the same error message.
I would appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem.
Thanks! The message says iTunes could not connect to the iphone " " because an error occurred while reading from the device.
This message appears as soon as the phone is connected. It is coincidental with the sound the iphone makes when it is plugged into the USB cable
I have updated to OS 10.5.7 and iTunes version 8.2 and this has not made the problem any less frequent.
As far as what I'm trying to sync, I don't know what you mean. I'm attempting to do a general periodic sync of the iphone and my Mac. -

I'm not sure if my iTunes won't open because my apple software might have been deleted from my computer during a clean out. How do I reestablish my apple software without losing all my iTunes music? Apple's error message is telling me that I have to uninstall iTunes and then re install it, but I'm pretty sure I'll lose everything if I do this. Suggestions?????
Hello RunnerGirl98,
If you reinstall iTunes using this article, your songs will not be deleted. The Media in iTunes is stored in the iTunes folder, which is normally found in your Music folder and is not attached, or part of the iTunes application.
It will be either one of these 2 articles depending on the OS version you have installed:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
I would also verify where your iTunes library is stored using this information:
Where are my iTunes files located?
