Error message when attempting to install update

I am having trouble updating iTunes on my PC.
The software downloads then an erroe message pops up stating that the file .....iTunes64.msi cannot be found. A manual search for the file is also fruitless.
How can I work around this?

Very, very carefully throw your computer on the ground and burn your house down.  No more error message.

  • Error message when attempting to load/update

My Acrobat was saying I needed to download Adobe Air before I could download requested Acrobat update, so I download (successfully) Air, but then when I proceeded to download Acrobat it sends me an error message (#16820).  Any idea what's going on and how I can move past this to get the latest updates?

I am not sure why you got the message about Adobe Air and have to admit I am not sure exactly what it does (I looked at all the hype on the Adobe site and still don't know). I think I got a similar request on some of my versions of Acrobat on different machine.
That being said, what do you mean when you say download Acrobat. If you have Acrobat, you simply open it and use Help>Update to update your version. You might actually try a Help>Repair before the updates since it sounds like you have something else wrong also.
If the update does not work, simply go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows and download the updates from there. In general the updates have to be installed in order following the version you have.

    Hello Sophia10,
    Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed your post about the Runtime Error you are getting when you try to install your printer. I have a few suggestions to hopefully get it installed and working for you.
First of all, I would suggest performing a clean boot:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    Next, try reinstalling the printer:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver Download
If the installation still does not work, try this:
Running Microsoft's Fix it tool, which will fix corrupted registry keys, etc:
Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
Try to reinstall the printer again.
Please let me know how this goes! Good luck

Error message when attempting to back up iPod to iTunes, no number given. No previous back ups as a new user, current iTunes software and iPod iOS.

The issue you are experiencing is with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but when you get to this step, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

I recieve the following error message when trying to install Quicktime for Windows "Error writing to file C:/Program Files/QuickTime/QTSystems/QuickTimeCheck.ocx. Verify that you have access to that directory."  I just trying to get the latest version of iTunes.  Thanks

"Error writing to file C:/Program Files/QuickTime/QTSystems/QuickTimeCheck.ocx. Verify that you have access to that directory."
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
