Error Message when creating file from INDCS3 files

Running, Windows XP, Creative Suite CS3,, Acrobat 8 Pro, and all updates. Unable to create a PDF using the "mulitple files" selection and selecting INDCS3 files on a server, receiving the following error:
-----Invalid value for parameter 'using" of event 'exportFile'. Expected PDFExportrPreset, but received "standard". Files all open in InDesignCS3, but no PDF file is created. Able to create PDFs directly from IND without any problems.----
Was able to handle this function in CS2 without any problems. Can you tell me where we are going wrong?

Hi, I reinstalled my Adobe CS2 product, and now get an error message each time I create a PDF from either InDesign or Photoshop. The message reads:
The instruction at "0x0045c9e5" referenced memory at "0x0215ebdc". The memory could not be "read".
I appreciate any help in resolving this issue.

How do you create the PDF? There are multiple ways and it might make a difference.

Download error message - "Cannot Create File"

Recently I developed a problem and am unable to download anything (files, software, etc) from any website. I begin a download, the download manager comes up and it shows an error message "Cannot Create File." I am using the default manager that is incorporated in OS X 10.3.9.
I never had a problem until a week or so ago when I downloaded a software demo. I decided to get the full software package and trashed the demo files per the company's instructions. I got the error message when I tried to download the full program and now get the message no matter what I attempt to download. Might I have trashed a file I wasn't supposed to trash?
I tried installing 10.3.9 again on my main drive but still have the problem. If I use an external hard drive with spare copy of 10.3.9 and make that my start up drive, I can download files successfully.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem ! Not being able to download a file from the Adobe site. I need Reader 7 to download some files from exact exams but can't do it. Just keep getting the Cannot Creat File message in the download window. Can anyone help?

"Macros in this project are disabled..." error message when creating PDF files

The following error occurs when creating a PDF file using a document that was created from a MS Word 2007 templates.
"Macros in this project are disabled..."
The security settings are set appropriately - it's not that. I have done everything I can think of including asking Microsoft; they say it's not them. It may not be, but I do not know how to get around it. It did not happen before upgrading my templates to the Office 2007 format.
Has this happened to anyone else? There is no coding within th etemplates regartding PDFs. We are using Adobe Professional X. The error only occurs when we use Adobe Pro X.
One thing I just noticed, our templates get the following message when we go to save as a PDF using Adobe:
Acrobat PDFMAker needs to save the file before continuing. Do you want PDFMaker to save the file and continue?

Does it work the first time after you delete your Normal.dotm file? You may be running into the same issue that is detailed in this post Unable to open document. Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file.

Error message when creating a Master File

I have finished editing a multicam clip of a graduation ceremony which is an hour and 27 minutes long. Clients are anxiously awaiting the DVDs/BR discs.
There are six "Rotation" and one "Ribbon" titles and 21 chapter markers in the timeline. None of the chapter markers are placed in a transition.
I'm using 10.0.8 FCPX and OS 10.6.8.
I've tried to create Master File in order to use Toast 11 titanium to make a Blu Ray disc but I've had the following message appear twice midway through the process:
The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 152526 (error -1).
Any suggestions as to what I might do to resolve this will be greatly appreciated. Or is there is another method to create a Blu Ray disc, I'd appreciate info.

Go to Preferences and turn off Background Rendering.
Select your project in the library and in the File menu, click on Delete project Render Files; choose All when prompted. Select your event and do the same with the event Render files. In the project use the range tool to select a short section. Try to export that as a test. Don't render before you export.
If that doesn't work, copy the project and paste it into a fresh project. Try another export test.
If that doesn't work, create a new user account.
As for Blu Ray, there is a Share preset if want to check it out. Very simple menus. And the preset can only handle single tracks.

Receiving Error Message when Combining Files

I keep receiving this error message when I try to combine my files together:
Your PDF conversion request failed.
There was an unexpected problem while combining your files to a single PDF file. Please try again later.
I have tried logging out and then logging in and trying to combine the files again as well as attempting later in the day and I still receive the same error message. Why am I receiving this error?

Please try to use 2 small/somple files to combine. If that does not work please let me know.
If one of your PDF files is an encrypted(no permission to open or edit) Combine FIle fails. You can open your PDF file in Adobe Reder then check "Security" setting from File menu > Properties >Security tab.
Please use other browsers to login at https://createpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html.

Error Message When Importing Bookmarks From A Network Share

An error message is generated whenever I try to import bookmarks.html from a network share on kubuntu. This same operation is sucessful on the windows version of firefox.
To replicate:
The bookmarks.html is created by Firefox 3.68 on windows 7. And is saved to a network share location. When trying to import this file into firefox 3.6.8 on my kubuntu 10.04 machine, I get the error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
If I copy bookmarks.html local to the kubuntu machine, it imports without error.
On windows, I can import bookmarks.html from the network share without error.
Does anyone know why I can't import across the network on the kubuntu version?

It appears to be any remote file, not just the bookmarks file. When trying to upload a file to a website, firefox threw up the same error:
error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
So what is it about files that are sitting on a server, firefox and kubuntu that causes this? I don't get the error message when using win7 on the same files.

Error message when creating new Pantones

Hi,
When I create a new pantone then double click on it in the swatches panel I get the following error message:
"Cannot create swatch library. There are no swatches in the file "HARD DRIVE:Applications:Adobe InDesign CS6: Presets: Swatch Libraries:PANTONE+ Solid Coated.acb"
I've checked the folder and the acb file is there so I don't understand why it is not recognising it?

Hi, I have CS6 , Mac OS X 10.7.5 and for the permissions I took a screenshot of what it says.
Where is says 'fetching' that usually says 'imac user' when i check permissions on other files, it is my login name.

Error message when trying exprt from FCP

I've used Compressor many times with no problem. Now when I go to export with it the error message comes up:
File error: A file of this name already exists.
If I keep using compressor after this message it fails, no matter what settings or locations or file names I use. I did my first Mac software update about 6 hours before this problem started. Any help is appreciated.

I, too, am receiving the "file of this name already exists" when I am trying to export with the "using compressor" option. Then I receive a failure message in Compressor after I submit. I have tried to change file names, etc, as was stated in the previous message.
I had not used FCP or Compressor for about a month and my first submission "using compressor" worked but subsequent ones did not even when I changed the project name or when I created a short little new project.
One thing I noticed is that a "tab" on the browser appears before the error message displays with what appears is a computer generated file name "CB26AB20-1722-11DA...". I wondered if this file is being created and referenced everytime "using compressor" is selected and is the "file of this name" that already exists. If so, where would this file be and can I delete it to start again?

Buffering table not up to date error message when creating a Cart

Hi Folks,
We are getting a 'Buffering table not up to date' error message when attempting to create a Cart. The error message only happens to the one end user ID only with the others not getting this error, therefore suggesting that my SRM org plan set-up is correct.
Has anyone come across this previously and what checks are available in the system to resolve this? As mentioned, the attribute check is okay and I have also removed the user ID from the SRM org plan and reassigned again but this has not corrected the problem. We are on SRM 5.

This is the forum for the free Adobe Reader and since it doesn't create PDF's, you'll need to be a bit more specific about what you are doing and what you are using. Maybe then we can point you in the right direction.

A Disk Utility error message when creating a dmg file

I was trying to create an encrypted dmg file on a USB Drive. It was going smoothly, I had entered the password twice, and then 30 seconds later I got an error message: "unable to create "name-dmg" -illegal seek"
I tried the Help menu, as well as Sherlock to search AppleCare but couldn't find a thing.
Any ideas?

2. The file names I tried were "Financial" then the default on "Disk2s1". By default I mean it's already inserted when the window appears.
3. The size of the image of the image I want to create is 7GB. But like I said this latest attempt a field for selecting a size wasn't in the window. I did set it for 7GB originally.

Error message when transferring files from Adobe reader on iPad to Mac via iTunes

I use adobe Reader on my iPad Air for work and at the end of each day transfer the files to my Mac at home through iTunes. Lately i am getting an error message "file could not be copied because an error occurred. A duplicate file name was specified." I have updated everything i can think of..any suggestions?

Isn't the error message displayed by iTunes? Can you check your Mac to see if there are actually duplicate files?
I'd recommend searching for an answer in the Apple Support Communities.
