Error message when downloading v 10.5 itunes

I keep getting an error when trying to download version 10.5 as my IPOD needs it to sync but I keep getting the same error message - 'There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Sounds like it may be conflicting software. Try turning off Vista's parental controls and temporarily disabling any other internet security software you may be using. If you are still unable to install the software, try emailing the iTunes department through the website. They can't provide any in-depth tech support but they may have a suggestion.
Also, older versions of iTunes (anything that is on disk) is not Vista compatible. I would suggest doing a clean install from Apple's website instead of upgrading from the older version.
Hope this helps!

    Hi, DickmoAZ.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like a permission issue most likely with the iTunes Media folder.  Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue.

  • Error message when downloading latest version

Any idea why I am getting error messages when updating the version of iTunes?

:-(  Same error message.  "Errors occured white installing the updates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools> Download Only and try installing manually."
That's odd. That's normally a message you get from Apple Software Update, not one that you get when you installer using an iTunes64Setup.exe downloaded from the Apple website.
Can you walk us through what happens when you download and run the installer from this link?

Thank you for clarify I'm supposed to read the ENTIRE article. I thought I was just supposed to read the title and magically everything will fix itself. I appreciate you taking the time to help me however I do not appreciate the caps and the way you have addressed the situation. If you are not going to kindly help people/make suggestions just don't try! And for the record my conclusions are not illogical, the iOS7 thing is on the website in small font (which I got by reading the ENTIRE thing) and you should really find a new hobby because your socialization skills need some help! That goes for you too Chris. Not everyone is a tech nerd

  • Error message when downloading from Google Play Store

After recently doing the toshiba system update for my AT300-32gb tablet I now get the following error message when downloading free apps from Google Play Store -Error processing purchase {DF-BPA-13].
Automatic update for downloaded apps no longer works either. Anyone have a solution to this?

Go into your settings and touch "apps" on the left. Then touch "Google Play services" and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache." Then touch "Apps" again on the left. Now do the same for the "Google Play Store" entry. Then hold down the power button until it asks if you want to turn it off. Go ahead and turn off the tablet. Then turn it back on and try again.

    This worked for someone
I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.
