Error Message When Emptying Trash - (error code -8003)

I have recently had to erase and re-install my hard drive a couple of times (under instruction from Apple) and now I have previous hard drives in my trash which I am wanting to erase (along with other stuff). However I have tried to empty the trash the usual way to no success, I have tried using the 'trash it' app again to no success and I have even opened up Terminal and typed in: sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash. (This I copied and pasted from another users issue for an error code -36. with their trash)
MY error message however reads as follows:
The Operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003).
Can anyone help please?

AFAIK there is no error such error code. Methinks your Mac is delusional.
Have you tried this Terminal command?
sudo rm .Trash/*
Do you have another drive or Windows installed? If you have Windows installed boot from your Windows partition and run Chkdsk utility.

I am trying to empty Video TS and and Audio TS folders from Trash but I keep getting this error message "noAskRightPermissionTitlePur". So I click okay and the files aren't deleted. Any idea on what I can do to empty the trash? Nothing came up on a google search.

hey all,
i have an external HD, and i backed up my iBook HD onto it a few weeks ago. today, i wanted to back it up again, as i have created more files that i don't want to risk losing. i dragged the old backup folder to the trash from my external, but emptying the trash, it gives me an error message saying, "operation cannot be completed because the item 'toviewstat.htm' is locked." it then gives me the option to "stop" or "continue". when i click continue, it gives me the same message, but a different file name. they seem to be endless. i assume this is some sort of protective measure so that one can't delete one's own HD. but this is a COPY of my HD. how do i empty my trash? thanx!

Did you try to disable TLS by setting both prefs to 0 or only use TLS 1.0 (both prefs 1)

0 means SSL 3.0, 1 means TLS 1.0, 2 means TLS 1.1, etc.

I have been using visual studio online for a while. Last week I connected azure console to my visual studio online account so that I could add an additional person to one of my projects.
After that, I create a new Git based project. From the outset in the outset, I have been receiving a message in code explorer in the new project:

Accessing the project from Git tools connected fine and I was able to commit successfully, however, I don't know if the code is in the repo, because I cannot browse it on the website. Am still getting the message above.
I can explore code for any of my other project without issue. All but one of my projects is using git.

I'd like to know whether you can push the commits to remote git repository, and when this issue occurred. When work with Git team project in Visual Studio Online, you have to clone the Git repository to local, and work with it.
You can also check if your have permissions to this team project in security page of team web access. Or

Another option is clean team foundation cache, delete credentials in credential manager and delete browser cookies. Restart the Visual Studio to have a try. If the issue persists, please elaborate more details about your scenario with the reproduce steps.

Error code -8003 when emptying trash; underlying problem?

I am continually getting this error message when trying to empty the trash:
"The operation couldn't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)"
I have searched the forums and have picked up on ways to ovecome this - I use Onyx or TrashIt to empty the trash, but the issue comes back very soon, often the same day. Would like find an fix the underlying problem.
I have done some testing and think I know at least part of the problem. I use the MacUpdate program to find and download updates to the programs on my Mac, and I also use AppTrap to delete files associated with applications that I am deleting. When MacUpdate updates an app it throws the old one in the trash, and AppTrap asks if I want to keep or trash preferences, and I of course choose keep. I have noted that the empty trash problem seems to occur after automatic updates - not after everyone one, but it has NEVER occured without something being in the trash that got sent there by MacUpdate.
I took everything out of the trash and deleted things one by one, even opening packages, and found at least one item that wouldn't delete, a version of Carbon Copy Cloner that was updated by MacUpdate. I checked and it was not locked, and I had Read Write permission. I found another file that would generate teh -8300 error; when I clicked the lock pad and entered my password, it would then delete. But other files that have the padlock locked will delete, but it seems at least some programs updated by MacUpdate won't delete unless you unlock the file.
Do any other of the people on this forum who have experienced the -8300 error also us MacUpdate? I know that some people get this error from deleting files from their Time Machine backup, but that is not my situation.

I had the same problem - tried all sorts but nothing worked. Eventually I used a tool called Trash It! which did the job (though apparently it is only to be used as a last resort).

If you delete songs (and other items) from the main iTunes library, yes, you need to empty the Trash because iTunes puts the song files into the Trash. When deleting items from an iPod, the items are not being deleted from the main iTunes library, so nothing should end up in the Trash.
Hopefully, you are not deleting items from your main iTunes library, just to sync those deletions from the iPod. If you are, there is a better way. You can post back if you want more info...

I am not sure what you mean by "Flash Player for steam"; the only Flash Player installers I know is the ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) and the plugin (for other browsers); you can find both at http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header
