Error message when I try to download 1.2

Currently I'm running windows and my itunes finds my ipod and has for sometime now. I currently have verison 1.1.1 and when I try to update to 1.2 through itunes I get this message:
Itunes could not contact the Ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet.
Make sure your internet is active and try again.
((My internet is active, I live on a campus dorm.))
Then...I try to download the new verison with the ipod updater and I get another error message.
Invalid Ipod service verison.
I have no idea what to do, hasn't happened before. My computer still finds the ipod ect, i can put songs on it, just having problems now with updating the ipod

I'm not sure what the error message says or whether you are on a Mac or PC, so please start with this article which gives a good starting point for troubleshooting update errors.

  • Getting an error message when I try to download telling me my "disk is full"

Can anyone help with this?  I'm trying to download Toy Story for my kids to watch on my IPad when we travel. It is giving me an error message stating that "your disk is full" but I don't have an option anywhere to change the location of where I'm saving this download, do I?

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Get error message when I try to download pictures from my camera to Iphoto.

Whenever I try to download photos from my digital camera to my Iphoto application in my Mac Book Pro laptop, I'm getting an error message that "startup disk is running low on space" and to delete some files before I try to download again. I also tried to install a recent software update to my computer and could not because it said that I did not have anough GB to do so. So... I'm thinking I need to delete some things. Which items take up the most hard drive space and which would be the best files to delete? I have all my info backed up on an external hard drive, so I could delete a lot of pictures. Thanks!

The order of consumption is usually, video, pics, music, docs.
If you have a great deal of photos on you internal drive and have them on an external storage drive, then you can delete them from your internal, that would free up space, same for videos, they are both space hogs. I regularly put my photos to an external drive, just keep my internal with as much free space on it. It runs faster and less stressful on the drive.
If you are having these error messages then you most certainly need to get stuff off, overloading can kill a drive.
As a general rule try to keep the internal below 50% for better performance.

  • Connectionmanager invoke failed to find service connection url - why do I get the error message when I try to download apps?

I get this message when I enter my password to download Apps.  How do I fix this?

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Try when connected to another network
    - Wait since it may be an Apple problem
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
