Error message when Quitting PS -HELP!! Can't save prefs

Each time I quit Photoshop CC I get this error message:
"Could not save Preferences because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder."
I've tried everything I can think of, repairing permissions, using "get info" to myself read & write priveleges, but this ones got me beat, and it makes using Photoshop near impossible, as I hafta set up everything from scratch each time I start. whoever can figure this one out is a damn genius and earns my perpetual gratitude!
System: Mavericks on a 2012 27" iMac, recently installed 250G Samsung SSD and 1TB HDD

In the end it wasn’t hard!
One simply has to go to user/library (Mac), and open preferences. Then drag 2 files to the desktop: com.adobe.Photoshop.plist, and the folder: Adobe Photoshop CC Settings
That was it!! Don't know why I didn't think of it!
oh...wait.

If you're hitting reload and it isn't reloading the OS for you, perhaps try reloading a backup file you've created (hopefully you've done some backups).

Error Message When Installing Download Helper 4.8.2 Add-On

I've updated to Firefox 3.6.13. The Add-on tab shows that there are add-on updates to be installed. When I download these flash download updates (Download Helper and Flash Video Downloader) and then try to install them I get an error message saying they can't be installed due to an "error in parsing value" message, "declaration dropped." All other updates are fine.
Any idea what may be the problem?

PS CC - Apple error message when 'quitting'.

Hello Everyone, Your help is needed by a someone starting out with PS.
When closing PS I get and error message, 'Could not save Preferences because the file is locked….' I have read other communities entries and tried changing 'library' (not sure which one I did or should have done) to read write for all but nothing has worked. I have uninstalled PS CC and reloaded it but nothing has changed, can anyone help me? Many thanks. Steve

Thanks for taking the time to reply but I am no nearer to finding the file or being able to find something that lets me change settings. I typed in the 'go' then /library/preferences (not sure what the symbol before it was, can anyone help? Any way i did end up finding 2 files as shown below but they did not let me do anything to them.

Was I any where close to being in the right place?

Scrollbar disappears; error messages when quitting

This latest version (3.0.4) of Safari is buggy. I'd appreciate any suggestions:
1) My scrollbar periodically disappears. I have to quit Safari to have it reappear again. Someone suggested that it might be because I have Acrobat Reader installed on my machine. But I never had this problem before this version emerged from buggysville.
2) When I quit this version of Safari, I sometimes get an error message saying it quit "unexpectedly." It doesn't interfere with my functionality, since I already quit Safari, but it's annoying nonetheless. Any suggestions?

If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 uses Safari 3.0.4 which is not a beta. If Safari 3.0.4 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.0.4 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard widgets etc also rely.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for Safari 3.0.4.
You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11 or Leopard, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2007-009.1.1, which also deals with the latest Java update.

Receiving error message when trying to install Toshiba Power Saver

Recently toshiba power saver stopped working - I removed it and redownloaded it from this website, now whenever I try to run the install i get a "unable to machine id" message and the install stops.

where did youve downloaded the powersaver? Maybe you downloaded the wrong one for your machine. Its absolutely important to download EXACTLY that software which fits your machine type.
When downloading stuff from toshiba websites you have to keep an eye on the version of your machine (e.g. Satellite A100-552 -> download the software for type "552" of the Satellite A100 series).
This sometimes resolves many errors and clarify some not very nice situations.
Please, more details on your problem. :)

Blue Screen + Spotlight error message... I can't reboot!

Hi All,
Upon startup, iMac with 2+GB RAM running OS X 10.5.6 does the following:
1. Normal startup chime
2. Blue screen appears
3. Spotlight error message "Spotlight quit unexpectedly"
I can't reboot, or boot in Safe Mode or launch Disk Utility from DVD and obviously I can't reinstall Leopard
I'm really frustrated

How is that keyboard connected to your iMac? Your iMac probably has three USB ports. I'd try the keyboard in each of them in turn.

Hello CDCisME2. I understand you're having some trouble saving a Word file.
Where did this file come from? Is it store on a server such as for your work or school?
Try using the "Save as" function instead of the normal save function. In the top-left of the window you should have a blue button that says "File." Select this and then you should see "Save as." Use this to save the file to an alternate location.
If these instructions don't make any sense then let me know. I am using Microsoft Word 2013 and the instructions could be different for different versions.

For starters, please make sure that you have the most current version of Reader installed by choosing Help > Check for Updates.

If I can't open the current library using the latest version of iphoto, and I am asked to make changes the the newest version!!! What version of iPhoto do you have? If you're on 10.5 then you're not running the latest iPhoto
Any chance that the library was opened with another version?
Simplest solution will be to just restore from your back up.
