Error message when recording video
Have QT 7 Pro and it sees my camera, I set up hit record and I see the audio bar moving but the screen is black. When I stop the recording I get this error message:
*RECORDING FAILED BECAUSE NO DATA WAS RECEIVED*
*Make sure that the media input source is turned on and playing.*
Well the device is plugged in and turned on and the Mac sees it on the QT program because when I choose 'Movie Inspector' my camera is chosen as the source. Also the A/V settings are greyed out as to not be able to adjust.
Check that your video drivers are up to date.

Error message when importing video
Hi,
I receive the following error message when trying to import .flv file in Captivate 6:
I tried restarting the project several times, as well as creating new flash file, with no luck. This is only a 3-slide project with the video embedded on a slide, and will publish as SCORM.Hi all Thanks for the rapid response. However I have sort of found the problem but not the solution. I tried loading direct from the card but that failed in the same way. So I had a think what had changed and it was only one thing. It has always worked before because I was using my XP desktop machine. I am now using a W7 laptop. So I went back to XP and hey presto, it worked. SO what does that mean? Any ideas?? Only obvious difference is the OS. In answer to why I am loading from Photoshop. I have loaded 150 video clips from the card from a compact camera.( Been on safari!) I am using PS to sort and tag for various things, then send one group to PE . I ended up that route because they loaded into PS and not PE. So in summary:- I cannot load either directly from card or via PS, video clips into PE on W7, but I can on XP. I can load same into PS and view OK in PS on W7. In case you need further info, but I suspect its a windows issue? OS=W7, PE V7, PSV7, On the W7 PC it says... BIT rate=705kps!,Sample Rate=44khz,Channel count =1 Says image is avi but I thought it was mpeg Nothing else running Its a big fast empty machine, you could have the numbers if you really want but I don't think its relevant Sorry its abit long . Thanks Chris

Receiving an error message when viewing video locally on iPhone.
Hey all,
When I attempt to open a particular video stored on my iPhone I receive the following message: "The requested URL was not found on this server". (this appears even before hitting the play button. When the play button is pressed, nothing happens. Acts as if my click on the play button is bring ignored). This video is 00:01:20 in length (unsure of uncompressed file size) and I am using an iPhone 4S 16GB w/plenty (5+ GB) of free space.
This video was recorded from my iPhone and was playing on my iPhone just fine previously. What has changed, or happened, between then was I attempted to use the option to upload the video to YouTube (in HD quality. Directly from the iPhone while connected to WiFi). As the HD file size would of been ~26MB I understand this operation would take some time but the progress bar remained at 'preparing video' for well over an hour and never moved on to 'uploading video'. At this point I opened the running programs screen and closed the photos application. Now when I go and click the video file I receive the message as shown above.
Other info:
- The iPhone has been powered off and back on but still receiving the message.
- I have attempted to open the video while connected to another WiFi network and even just over 3G (just in case data connection types were coming into play). Also tested in airplane mode to no avail.
- iCloud/Photostream functionality has been turned off and on. Testing was performed while this feature was disabled.
As I would rather not just delete the video off my iPhone and be done with it, has anyone else encountered anything like this and found a decent fix/workaround?
Thanks a ton,
AaronWhat the .......
URL?, in videos saved on a device?
I have an iPad 2 and bought two new movies they worked great and I even streamed one to the apple tv in our living room. After this I began to notice that with these new movies my disk space had been reduced dramatically. I plugged my iPad into my MacBook 2007 core duo, and proceed to open iPhoto with OSX 10.5.8. iPhoto failed. I plugged in in to iTunes and it worked fine. Then I proceeded to go play a game on Xbox. I came back ready to see my movie again and it came up with the error message: the requested URL was not found on this server. Now I am just spitballing here but maybe I just have one problem rather than multiple problems.
One problem: my iCloud just isn't working right
Multiples: my iTunes could have tried to copy it and lost it. iTunes might have had a problem and think I rented it. BIG ONE, I MAXED OUT MY SPACE LIKE I SAID BEFORE AND IT JUST COULDNT FIT, and put IMAGES.
I find this hard to believe that only TWO people have said anything about this. I really want apple to help us here, I just spent 15 bucks in MOVIES. AND MOVIES YOU CAN NOT JUST REDOWNLOAD!
Please help!
I'll come back if it's fixed -
Error message when adding video to premiere pro, please help!
Hi there,
Every time I try and add a video to premiere pro I get an error message "There was an error decompressing audio or video." I made the video in After effects and it plays just fine but I wanted to add sound to it in premiere pro. The file is mpeg movie, I can get more info if needed, just let me know. I am not very experienced at all in adobe but i'm learning so if someone could please help, that'd be awesome? P.S i'm using a MACYou're welcome.
I've never visited Paris but it is on my list.
I don't believe the 10.4.4 Update had anything to do with this. I also have a .Mac account and I didn't experience any problems sending with any of my accounts and different SMTP servers after installing the Update.
Something to try.
Go to the SMTP server settings for the .Mac SMTP server and in the Server Port field, enter 587 in place of 25 and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
Test if this resolves the problem.
Having the SSL warning message is odd if Use SSL is not selected for the SMTP server and if using 587 as the server port doesn't resolve the problem, this may be a Mail.app preference file problem which is the file that stores all account settings. -
System Overload/Core Audio Error Message when recording/playback
Well ive been experience this problem for a while now but ive read up on it and done some troubleshooting and think i may have found a solution.
Well what happens is ill be recording say one track or 2 tracks in mono or stereo or playing back about 3 or 4 tracks and logic will stop everything and give me an error message which either says system overload or core audio overload or something. Well i figured i was overloading my cpu so what i tried doing was restarting my computer and then only operating logic as the only program. this worked temporarily sometimes but not in the long run. well i did research and came to this.
apparently its too overbearing for my Powerbook processor to record in 24 bit/96 Khz which is kind of a bummer because it was one of my attractions to my i/o box that i could do that. also freezing tracks will help greatly apparently which i have yet to try but hope will work too.
also i recently deleted about half of the stuff on my internal drive and put my 42.41 GB of music onto my external HD so now i have 54.6 GB on my internal HD which holds about 93 GB total. should this help me greatly? or will it only be a minute difference?
well any more solutions/suggestions as to what i can do to better my situation? also am i correct as to why i think i get those error messages.
ps: sorry for the uncapitalization, i got a bit lazy here
thanks
-MikeMike,
Bit depth is more important for recording quality than huge sample rates. If you're going to change your settings, I'd stick with 24 bit, but reduce sample rate to 48 kHz.
When you say you've put all your music on the external drive, what exactly do you mean--your Logic files or your mp3/AAC files? Normally you would want to use an external drive to record onto from Logic. That way your internal HD can run the OS and Logic, while the external is free for all the fast recording tasks. (This assumes your external HD is pretty fast, and ideally is firewire.)
Freezing works wonders, too, if you're processing tracks.

Error message when downloading videos
Hi, I'm Godwin. I used to download lots of videos, including movies but of recent, I haven't been able to download any video; when I try, it'll say "error". I don't understand why its like that. I've checked my free memory space and its about 169megabyte, my signal status is -70, my network reads "3G",.....my phone's model is BLACKBERRY CURVE 9320. Pls help. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately, from merely "error", there are too many possible reasons. Is that the exact and complete error message? Is there anything else in the error message that might give some additional hints?
In any event, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
You might also contact your mobile service for formal support...maybe they can see something more than just "error".
Good luck!

any help would be greatly appreciated! ThanksHi,
Some modems (mostly cable ones ) act the same way a Dail-up modem does and connects one computer to the internet.
Others have routing abilities meaning that sveral computers can use it to connect to the internet.
Now data can come to your computer on sever thousand so called "ports' (0-65535)
Web Browsing is on port 80.
Mail is often on port 25 and port 110 but sometimes on others as well, but normally below the port 1024.
Now ports below this figure are always open which is why you can always web browse now matter how you string your modems and routers together.
Certain applications use ports above this 1024 threshold.
For that the device often uses Network Address Translation (NAT) to make sure the right data goes to the right place.
Now a device (modem) having just one place to stick an ethernet cable in is not always a sign that it does not route. Like you could use an ethernet hub to join several computers together without even having internet access, a hub could also help these single ethernet port modems run a network.
So it comes down to ...
What modem do you have ?
Do you have a router ?
Have you set them up ?

Error message when opening video files on z10
when opening video files, showing error-the file can't be played due to an unexpected error(-3). request a solution to resolve this
Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Otherwise, please provide additional details...for example:
What, exactly is the true file format? Not simply the file extension, but the true format?
Does the file extension match the true file format?
Where was the file created?
Does the file work on other devices?
Do other format video files work OK on your device?
What is your exact OS level, and what exact app are you using to try and play the file?
Good luck!

Error message when emailing videos?
I'm getting this error message everytime I email a video from my phone. Is anyone else recieving this message. Keep in mind I get it even after I have trimmed the video. It's really frustrating because I can never send out iPhone taken video clips.
There are well documented (in this forum) issues with sending videos via Yahoo mail. For example:
http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=yahoo&objID=f1333&dateRange =last90days&userID=&numResults=15&rankBy=10001
If your problem is while using Yahoo, try another email approach (e.g., Gmail). If not, please provide additional detail.

Title says it all.
I've had this issue on this machine for some time but not forever. Music playback is fine but anything video related freezes the program. When I launch the program in safe mode it works though. Clearly some add-on or file is causing it to foul up.
Before anyone suggests this: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4221 <-- I've tried it to no avail so please don't repost
Anyways this is really annoying, please help.
Thanks
P.S. I know my way around the computer so no need to cripple your explainationHello Appropriator,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article outlines further suggestions for troubleshooting video playback. While you have already completed one of the steps, there are a few more that you can try:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7 video playback performance issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1718
Additional Information
Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player.
Thanks,

Hi,
Please could someone help me to find and correct the error in the VI.
I am using a USb webcam to measure the intensity of light in a ROI then record a short video.
Unfortunately, I receive sometimes an error of timeout.
I think the labview is confused by the presence of two vision aquisitions and I want to reduce the mode of video to 600*350.
Cheers,
zied

Untitled 3.zip 67 KBHi ziedhosni,
I looked at your code and I do not notice anything that would cause an problem. Where do you get the timeout error? Could you attach a photo of it?
Have you tried going through your code with Highlight Execution on? Please do this and let me know where you get the error.

Hello I am constantly getting an error when I try to record in Adobe Audition CS5.5. It keeps saying the input and output device sample rates don't match. So I cannot record my voice. What do I do?
You'll need to make sure that the sample rate for your input and output channels of your device match.
1. Right-click on the speaker icon in the lower-right corner of your desktop and choose Recording Devices
2. Right-click the Microphone (or desired input channel for the device) and choose Properties
3. Click the Advanced tab and verify or change the Default Format option
4. Click OK then click the Playback tab. Right-click on your default or desired output channel and choose Properties
5. Make sure the Default Format option matches what you selected for your recording channel. (You'll notice in this screenshot, my playback device is configured for 48,000Hz while my microphone was configured for 44,100Hz. These need to match.)
6. In Audition, create a new session. For best results, ensure your session sample rate matches the sample rates you selected for your decices. Audition will attempt to convert the sample rate of your recording on-the-fly to match the session sample rate, but it's always recommended to work at a single, consistent sample rate to ensure no change to the audio signal takes place. -
Busy error message when moving videos to a new folder
I am trying to move videos from my iphoto to a folder I created on my desktop. I put them all into an iphoto album, then I selected all of them and tried to drag them over to the folder on my desktop. I got the following message:
Selected items cannot be put into same location because at least one of them named "CIMG0327.AVI" is busy.
What does this mean and how can I resolve it??Two more thoughts:
Make sure that there isn't already a file in there with the same name
Could be a permissions issue: Download BatchMod from
http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library Folder using the settings found here:

Error Message when taking video after OS 4.3 update
Anyone else getting this message "This movie format is not supported" after taking video? This just started after the OS 4.3 update. I did turn the phone off and on just to see if it was a fluke but it still happens. Thanks
