Error message when rendering a DVD

When I'm burning a DVD (or img file), I get this error message: "Not Authorized. This application cannot be used to play this content. In order to play this content, please open it with iTunes."
I'm assuming that there is something wrong with one of the audio files. How do I find out which one and how do I correct it?

This may be because you have added copy protected audio from iTunes to your iMovie project (or iDVD menu).
The solution is to either update your iTunes library to non-DRM status, or burn that audio track to a CD in AIFF format and re-import it into iTunes before using it in iMovie or iDVD.

  • Error message when using the DVD drive

I have a Satellite P200D and every time I put a disk of any kind into the disk drive I get an NO-DISK error message when I eject the disk. I always make sure that I shut all programs relating to use of the disk before trying to take the disk out. This is a new problem as I have used the laptop for a couple of months without any issues at all. The text of the error message is below. Any pointers would be appreciated. I can live with it but it would be nice not to have to.
    Exception Processing Message 0xc0000013 Parameters 0x764C023C 0x8E4A1B6C 0x764C023C 0x764C023C

Ok, if you try to eject the disk using the eject button on the side of the laptop, why not try ejecting through software in windows.
To do this right click on the dvd drive in my computer and then click on "eject". This might tell windows that its ok to let the drive go now.
Another solution would be to save all important data to another drive, then return the laptop to "out of box condition" using the recovery disc. I'd say problem will go away.
However, if problems persist, please see your place of purchase for a check up.
    Good luck.

  • "Error Compiling movie: Unknown Error" message when rendering

I've read forums and tried several things but still getting this error message when I try to render footage on my timeline. I was copying footage from one sequence that had a "yellow" bar in the top part of the timeline window into another sequence and the bar turned "red". I've never got this message before. How do I fix so that I can render? Thank you.

    Hello
I encounter the same problem and render crash.
The only way I discovered is :
    - save the job,
    - close PP CC (or CS 6 if you use pp CS 6),
    - relaunch PP CC,
    - resume the render,
generally the render goes to the end of the sequence, if not resume as above.
The Adobe support has no answer.

  • 'General Error' message when rendering purchased footage

    Hi folks,
I just received some royalty-free footage in the mail which I ordered awhile back.
I'm finding that some of the clips import and render fine, while others import fine but give a 'General Error' message when I try to render. In essence, I'm able to use only some of the clips.
I actually have footage from TWO DIFFERENT companies, so I'm thinking the problem is not with the footage but with Final Cut Express's ability to render the files. Has anybody else gotten this 'General Error' message when trying to render royalty-free, purchased footage?
Any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how to fix it?
    Thanks very much!
    Vic

Hmm....if they're HD, try using MPEG Streamclip (free) and see if you can open them, and convert to Quicktime (command-E in Streamclip) using the Apple Intermediate Codec for your codec. What frame size are they? 1280x720? 1920x1080? Hopefully they are one of those standard sizes.
Once you have a converted file (which by the way will be much larger than your downloaded purchased files), then you can import them into FCE, but before doing so, make sure you go to Easy Setup and select the preset that matches the footage (for example, if it's 1920x1080 and 30fps, then in Easy Setup select the HD popup then under "Use" select the Apple Intermediate Codec 1920x1080i60 preset.) Then create a new empty sequence, then import your files.

  • PP CS3 Error Messages when rendering

I'm having an issue with Premiere Pro CS3, and am receiving a variety of error messages, along with occasional accompanying crashes.  I will post my system specs following a detailing of the issues.
I have read the DV primers, the FAQ, the Premiere Pro help document and was unable to find a solution to the issue.
In addition I have searched the internet:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=[..\..Src\PPixHandleUtilities.cpp-114]&hl=en&safe=off&biw=1 280&bih=607&prmd=ivns&ei=y-vvTebvH6qt0AHp6b32DA&start=10&sa=N#q=[..\..Src\PPixHandleUtilit ies.cpp-114]&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=ivns&ei=pwbwTeXSCIq5twfc4LTCCQ&start=0&sa=N&bav=on.2,or.r _gc.r_pw.&fp=711da0863f755a&biw=1280&bih=584
And have searched the Adobe forums as well:
    http://forums.adobe.com/search.jspa?resultTypes=DOCUMENT&resultTypes=MESSAGE&resultTypes=C OMMUNITY&resultTypes=TASK&resultTypes=PROJECT&resultTypes=SOCIAL_GROUP&resultTypes=COMMENT &peopleEnabled=true&q=[..\..Src\PPixHandleUtilities.cpp-114]
None of the suggestions, including the various links with additional information given, has helped in this matter, and I was wondering if anyone else has ever figured out this issue.
    I currently have a HD 1920 X 1080, 29.97 fps, 00;23;43;00 minute film edited in Premiere Pro.
I have 4 video tracks (including 1 transparent), and 3 audio tracks.
I am attempting to render out a .mov with H264 compression with 100% quality at 1920 x 1080 using the Adobe Media Encoder.
I've also tried rendering smaller and less quality wuicktimes with the same results.
All of the imported files are quicktimes .mov's rendered out of Adobe After Effects CS3, using the Photo-JPEG codec with no (best quality) compression.
The premiere project file is located on an external USB hard drive (my C drive is full), amd the scratch disks are directed to that same drive, with more than 60% free space on it.
I have checked for gaps in between clips/sequences using the page up and page down method, and have found none.  I have also looked for audio being longer than the video, but haven't found that either.  For the sake of thoroughness though, I have laid down an additional video track with a transparent video to be on the safe side.
I have optimized the rendering for memory, and have set the affinity for the premierepro.exe in the task manager to the first processor only.  (I have 4)
I have cleared the memory cache and attempted multiple reboots.
I have closed audio waveforms, closed video picons, and closed the Program Monitor.
    All to no avail.
Importing this PP file into a new PP file, loses all of the edits I've made.
When I render, I still get either one of, or some combination of the following errors.
    "Debug Event"
    [..\..\Src\PPixHandleUtilities.ccp-114]
This error pops up most frequently.  During rendering, it will stop arbitrarily, never on the same frame so far, and then I have to hit continue multiple times, and the program allows me to continue to work on my edit.
Sometimes this will come in conjunction with the following errors.
    No Output Generated!
Premiere Po is running very low on system memory.  Please save your project and proceed with caution.
Application failed to return a video frame.  Cancelling the Operation.
Sometimes these errors are accompanied by PP crashing, sometimes not.  Sometimes, PP won't even begin rendering and will crash immediately upon pressing the render button.
What makes this all the more frustrating is that I've already rendered out a 7 minute version of this film, using the exact same After Effects rendered .mov files.  In fact, I merely added onto what was already there for this longer version.
The only thing that I can think of left to check, that might be an issue (I am still learning), is that when I began rendering my quicktimes in After Effects CS3,
When I send the project to the render cue in After Effects, I render at best quality, full resolution 1920 x 1080, using the Photo-JPEG codec with no (best quality) compression.
In the Composition Settings, I have the Preset set at HDTV 1080 29.97, 1920 X 1080, 29.97 fps.  However for 75% of my work as was rendering with the Resolution drop box at quarter 480 x 270.
At some point I noticed this, and thought, well gee, I want HD, so I rendered the remainder of my quicktimes with the Resolution dropbox set at full, 1920 x 1080.  I thought this was odd, because all the quicktimes that I rendered out with the Resolution at quarter, seemed to come out into full 1920 x1080 HD, but figured I’d change it nonetheless to see if there was a change.
I have not rendered a new version out of Premiere Pro since I made that change in my After Effects rendered quicktimes.
I am in the process of checking to see if deleting those last quicktimes from the timeline will solve the problem, but thought I would get a jumpstart on asking about the issue because I have a sinking feeling that it won’t.
Anyway, thanks in advance for anyone who can address this issue.
What follows are my system specs.
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

    Thanks for all the replies!
I’ve posted this inquiry on numerous boards and as such, have received a variety of different responses.  I’m going to respond to all of them in a single response, so some of what you may read might be a response to a thread on another board.  But I thought that providing this additional information might help my own efforts, or help any others who might have this same problem who might read this thread.
The source files are located on the same external drive.
After I finish this project, I intend to follow the advice and use external hard drives primarily for archive purposes while leaving my C drive as empty as can be.
My C drive is approximately 90% full.  My concern in clearing off my C drive and transferring this project to there now, sit hat I’d have to redirect all the files to those locations.  I’m not opposed to the additional work, but I’d rather try to see if I can find out exactly what this problem is, since this is kind of my virgin project with Premiere, and I want to know exactly what I did that is causing this so I can avoid doing it again.
There is no particular reason I need the .mov as a container, other than I’m just familiar with working with quicktimes in After Effects and 3DS Max.  Although, the other night I attempted to reminder as mpegs and .avi’s, and circumnavigating the Media Encoder by exporting it as a movie and had pretty much the same issues in all cases.
There is no File> Export> Media> Export function in CS3, that I can find, however there is a File>Export> Movie option which I tried with the same results.
How do I make certain that the Media Encoder is up to date?
I’m not sure if I have the latest version of quicktime.  This is something I can check on though.  However, if I do not, and I update, will that mean that all of the elements I’ve aready rendered out from After Effects as .mov’s will have been made with the old quicktime?  Will updating quicktime also update these rendered .mov’s?
In regards to 64 bit vs. 32 bit, I may be wrong, but wasn’t CS3 designed to work on 32 bit computers before 64 bit computers became available?
What are AC3 sound files?  I’m not sure if I’m working with them or not?
I would have to say that it has to be a bad asset rather than a gap in the video, of only because I laid down a 4th video track, a transparent video track, over the entirety of the 24 minute video, which should cover any gaps.
I’m sorry, I honestly don’t know where my Page File (Windows Virtual Memory) is located, how it is managed, or even what it is.  Though I do oftentimes get messages telling me that Windows Virtual Memory is low, but not while I’m working in Premiere.
I’ve done some additional troubleshooting and here’s what I found.
I’ve been attempting renders by deleting video and audio clips from entire tracks.
When I have the video from track 3 deleted, it stops rendering on frame 9720.  When I have Audio track 1 turned off, it stops rendering on frame 9720 also, so that could be something.
When the clips from Video 2 track is deleted, it stops on frame 20533.
As an aside, attempting to render as a Real Video gave me a crash error at frame 20314.
When the clips on audio track 2 are deleted, I get the “No Output Generated” error message.  Same with audio track 3.
Previously attempts to render would stop on frames, 8984, 9428, and 9567, which seem in the same general area.
    When I use a frame/time calculator, at http://www.zapstudio.net/framecalc/
    I get the following:
    Frame 8984 = 00;04;59;23
    Frame 9428 = 00;05;14;17
    Frame 9567 = 00;05;19;07
    Frame 9720 = 00;05;24;10
    Frame 20314 = 00;11;17;24
    Frame 20533 = 00;11;25;04
When I look at these timeframes on the timeline, I see nothing remarkable, and it isn’t hitting the .mov’s that I thought it might have, after I began setting the Resolution dropbox in the Composition Settings of After Effects as I detailed I did above.
So I’m atarting to think that my best option at this point is to start from scratch, add one clip, render, add one clip, render, etc., until I see a problem.
Thanks again for all the replies, and thanks again in advance for any future reponses!
Any additional advice or help anyone can give would be much appreciated!

  • Input/Output error message when uploading a DVD to copy.

    Hi All,
I have been getting this message "Unable to Create: input/output error." when trying to upload a dvd to burn using Disk Utility . At first I thought it was a problem with the disc so I had a friend of my send me another copy. This was 2 discs. The first disc I get the error message the 2nd disc copied perfectly. My friend sent me the first disc again and I still get the same error message. It uploads about 2/3 of the disc and then the error message shows up. I tried on both my desktop and laptop and same error message on both. Both are using Leopard.
This is not a copyright protected disc. This is a personal disc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

I have exactly the same problem. I'm trying to create images for all my DVDs created on Windows Vista. Unfortunately, when around 80% of the disk is already read, I'm getting:
6/4/08 9:54:06 PM Disk Utility[1872] Unable to create “Lena - prawie 2 lata.cdr”. (Input/output error). I have been able to reproduce this issue on 3 DVDs so far (all filled with 4GB of data).
The only DVD that I was able to duplicate was 1.4GM is size. Any suggestions?

  • General Error message when rendering after opening FCP4 project in FCP5

    Hi,
we're are having trouble with our FCP 4.5 project after opeining it in FCP5. When trying to render it comes up with "General Error" message and won't render the sequence. It also sometimes simply stops rendering without the message. Can anyone help? thanks

Update the version of FCP you're attempting to use as far as it will go for starters. There's no bug I know of that would cause this, so it's more likely an edgy media file getting in the way.
Try rendering just a section at a time and see if you can narrow down the files that may be causing your error.

  • "Drive Reported an Error" message when burning a DVD+RW

    Hi, all!
I am trying to burn a rewritable DVD, HP DVD+RW on my Matshita R UJ 857E and each time I try I always get the following message:
    *Drive Reported an Error:*
    *Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR*
    *Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03*
This happens with a few RW DVD disks that I tried to burn. The disks are HP disks and they work correctly on a PC.

Each time I try to burn a DVD the disc is ejected, often during finishing, and 'medium write error'is displayed. I have tried different media and varying speeds but with no success, Suggestions?
After reading and testing a lot, I am convinced this is a DVD ROM problem. I believe, MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E has some problems with some brands DVD+R discs.
I simply cannot figure out what is the reason to go on using those dvd roms in MakBooks after so many problems reported...

    Anyone? Bueller?
In order to render a timeline, I need to watch it and re-hit Option-R every 10-30 seconds or so...
It's frustrating... because the rest of the system is smokin'! I just want to render like a normal renderer!
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   BRAND NEW COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE

I have seen this error many times. Restarting usually solves it for me. I suspect that the Preview Column in the Finder may be considered an application that is using a file since QT player might be running the movie. Do you perhaps have a Finder window open somewhere?
I have no other advice to offer, sorry.
Reinstalling FCP rarely solves anything. re-instaling your system again is equally silly on a Macintosh. These are last ditch practices and serve no realy purpose, in my experience with OS10.

  • Error message when running HD-DVD player after clean win 7 install on P205-S6347

On a P205-S6347, did clean win 7 ultimate install with toshiba instructions and loadup software downloaded from toshiba support.  On first dvd player install of latesed full player, got a video eror.  Installed latets patch, now I get "An error has occured in the audio output settings. Please check thet the sound driver is set up properly" The sound playes fine for all other programs/utilities.  Note, I am running USB powered Logitec external speakers.  I have tried to follow all the recomendations of others with this problem, yet nothng works, unless I'm not using the right software, yet I only use whats on the site for the model and OS.  The reason that I want to use this OEM player is that I havent found a comparable player that does just that, playes DVD's like a home unit, complete with menu access as a physical player would and that the moving cursers only seem to work with the Toshiba player, whereas others like VLC and Kantaris will only show one moving curser on a menue and I have to guess where the next one is to slick it to start, and Real Player isnt any better either.  Other problems I've had with other players are that the graphics seem a bit hazy sometimes, I never have that problem with the Toshiba player.  Also, others have way to many bells and whistles, I only want a player that works doing that specific job.  I wish Toshiba would package a universal player that could be installed with all that it needs to run itself.  Any Ideas folks?

Try to use the command ipconfig /renew in the cms (command dos box)
    Also try this:
Control Panel > Administration Tools > Computer Management > Services & Applications > Services.
Scroll down this list to find 'WLAN Auto Config'
Double click on 'WLAN Auto Config' On the general tab, select from the start up type drop down menu, select 'Automatic'. Under Service Status click on 'Start'. Then 'Apply' these settings and exit from all open control panel windows.
Otherwise uninstall the Realtek driver in the device manager.
    Then reboot the notebook.
Download the Realtek WLan driver again and install it.

If this same timeline can be exported to other file formats and can be shared successfully to DVD, possibly it's the longer render time in the Blu Ray processing that is the problem. In the Finder in Applications, right click Final Cut Pro dot app, choose Get Info and verify that Prevent App Nap is checked. If it isn't, check it and try again.

If you're still getting the error message (especially when you plug in the Touch), I'd check for a device filter confusion on the PC. (They can affect the connection of USB devices to a PC, as well as burning and importing CDs.) For that one, see:
