Error Message when Scheduling a report in Infoview

I have created a report in Crystal Report using the Universe.  Report is saved to the Enterprise and set up to schedule in Infoview.
When the report is scheduled for now or any other "when" time, I receive the error message:
"Error in File C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\tfcu-fics.reportjobserver\~tmp58860bbee30730.rpt: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters."
Currently running CR Version - 11.5.0313
BOE Version - 11.5
On my workstation - the ODBC connection, System DSN, for crystal is using the Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.00 driver - have no issues creating the report from the Universe.
On the server the ODBC connection, System DSN, for crystal is using the SQL Anywhere 10 driver.  Would using the SQL Anywhere 10 driver create the error message above?
To test this I changed the workstation System DSN connection for crystal to SQL Anywhere 10 and when trying to refresh a report created from the Universe I kept receiving the ODBC Login window asking for the database password.
Is there an issue with SQL Anywhere 10 and a Universe not holding the database username or password?

Try This..
1. Open the crystal client on your local machine and import that particular report.
2. Do Database -> Verify Database. Then refresh the report on your PC and make sure that it returns data as expected.
3. Export it back to repository and try scheduling it again. You can verify through CMC for Crystal Reports under " Database Configuration" property to make sure it points to the right ODBC.

Can you define "sometimes" a bit more?
Is it after a number of runs of a report?
Is it on a particular report?
Is it after you do certain operations on the report (paging, zooming, dill down, print, etc., etc.)?
Can you duplicate the issue if you isolate the report to a new test app?
Did you happen to notice if the issue existed prior to FP 3.5?
Is this on your dev computer or a client computer?
    OS?

  • Deadlocked error message when running crystal report

    Hi All,
I need a bit of guidance as to the following problem.
Seems there is a lock being created in SQL when running some crystal reports.
When trying to run a report the following message is displayed:
Database connection Error L 'ADO Error Code: 0x
    Source: Microsoft SQL Native Client
Description: Transaction (Process ID 302) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
    SQL State: 40001
Native Error: [Database Vendor Code: 1205 ]'
The error is happening intermittently when refreshing the report. It does not seem to happen when no users are using the system.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? Or is this some kind of limitation with crystal and how it accesses the database?
    Many Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt
I have had this problem with long running queries as well.  I ended up doing the main part of the query in a view using WITH (NOLOCK) for each table and then reporting on the view.
This had extra benefits of making the report much simpler and often making the query more efficient and easier to test as well.

  • Error message when executing a report through a VB application

    Hello,
I have a problem when I want to launch a Crystal Report 10 report in a Visual Basic application.
I created a report using "Add a command" to add a SQL query to this report, the report is working well when I launch it in Crystal Report. But when I launch it in the application I get an error message "The table 'Command' could not be found".
(Other reports are working in VB when I create a report whitout the sql command tool)
How can I do to make this working through VB ?
This application uses a sql server 2005 database.
Thank's in advance for your help,
    Régis

Thank's for your answer, yes I'm connecting through an ODBC connection, yes the VB app is running the same odbc entry.
When I have only a "normal" link to a table the report is working well, the problem is that when I add a sql command in this report, the VB application thinks it's a "normal" sql table and it gives me the error message. The VB application didn't recognize that the table command in the report is a sql request. I don't know what's the difference between executing this report directly in CR or in the VB application, the report didn't react in the same way even if the ODBC entry is the same.
I don't know if what I try to do is possible, is it possible to execute a CR report with a sql command in a VB application ?
FI : I found yesterday the way to create the same report without a sql command, its working in the VB app. But it would be great if I could solve this problem because it's much more easier to create a report giving only the sql request and not to do that manually in the report (attaching all the tables, making the group by, sort...).

  • Error message when previewing RTF report

Using BI Publisher (10.1.3.3.0 Build 108) Building a simple template using the following XML file - shown is just a snippet of the total XML file.
    <employee>
    <employee_id>103</employee_id>
    <first_name>Alexander</first_name>
    <last_name>Hunold</last_name>
    <salary>9000</salary>
    </employee>
Have built the following template in WORD 2003
    <?for-each:Employee?>
    first_name
    salary
    <?end for-each?>
When preview in rtf only thing I am getting is an error window that pops up and simply displays the word Error with NO error message whatsoever!
Please let me know what is going on and how to use this 'tool'
    Thanks - Casey

Gentlemen - the problem has been found and resolved. Seems like the XML Data Source cannot contain a reference to a validating DTD. Once the following reference was removed AND I used employee instead of Employee in the template all worked.
    <!DOCTYPE employees SYSTEM "employees.dtd">
I assume this is correct - not being able to contain a DTD reference? I will also, tomorrow (read that as probably Monday) be trying the same thing using XML Schema vaildation.
THANKS for the help - Casey

See note 920317.  That warning won't affect the result based on this example.  You are using (2-*) on both the Discrete repeating group and the symbol itself.  In your new system, the area you use discrete repeating group overrides the area on the symbol.  The note gives some examples.

  • [Forum FAQ] Troubleshooting "An error has occurred during report processing" message when viewing SCCM reports

    Symptom:
When you view a report with SCCM, you may encounter the following error message:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Under the details box, you can see the detailed error information as below:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended
execution account. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorException: The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.LogonFailedException:
Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The user name or password is incorrect

at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005.GetReportParameters(String Report, String HistoryID, Boolean ForRendering, ParameterValue[] Values, DataSourceCredentials[] Credentials, ReportParameter[]& Parameters)
Figure 1 is the screenshot of the error message in SCCM:
    Figure 1.
    Cause:
According to the detailed error message, it indicates that “The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account.”
and “The user name or password is incorrect”, so this issue would be caused by the mismatched credential stored in report server.
    Solution:
To solve this issue, you can follow the steps below:
      1.
Access Report Manager URL on your reporting server.
From figure 2, you can see that the URL for Report Manager is
    http://SCCM:80/Reports
in our lab environment. You can check your Report Manager URL in Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
    Figure 2.
      2.
Find out the date source {5C6358F2-4BB6-4a1b-A16E-8D96795D8602} and access it.
    Figure 3.
    3. Test connection (Figure 4)
You can have a test connection to check whether the credentials stored in the report server are correct or not.
    Figure 4.
    4.
Modify the password or choose another authentication method
If you want to change the password, please make sure that password is the same as the one that you have set for that user account in the domain.
    5. Confirm connection
After you change the password, you can test connection again. From figure 5, we can see that connection created successfully.
    Figure 5.
After all the steps above, there is no error message when viewing the report. (Figure 6)

I m scheduling a DESKI report to users enterprise inbox from infoview using a server group. This server group has DesktopIntelligence Job server, Destination Job server, Adaptive Job server and Program Job servers and all these servers are running.
When I schedule the report to boldusers enterprise inboxbold it get failed and shows this error message

I m wondering what has to be enabled for scheduling a report to infoview's own inbox.

    Abhilash
You are correct that it shows all the prompts but only when we run the report either directly from the CR Designer or via View on Demand in Infoview/CMC.
But if I try to schedule an instance of this report, I am getting a check box in the parameter section which says "Show unused parameters" to see this dyanamic prompt. And When I check that box in Infoview still I am not able to select any value for this prompt as it's greyed out.
Hope I am able to explain my query to you.

    Hi
    Common issues for this :
    1. Once you install crystall add on ,you need to go to Crystal report Administration >Account setup .
Put on the user name and password and click on creating ext tables
Try then running the report .
    If not the case ,
make sure you install runtime .
    You need :
1.Crystal report basic from SAP download -(Not necessary if you want only report viewer >
2.You need to have crystal integration addon (I think service pack is SP1)
3.Make sure you have runtime install
When you are installing ,make sure you restart your PC before you do or remove temporary file s
    Hope this solves your issue
